If bones hasn't taken the time to own up and pick up his slack or come clean about his whereabouts, a year is a lengthy portion of time to have kidney stones and hemorrhoids, go get yourself a renal check and stop giving us nothing burgers. He won't do shit anyway, this game has been this way for years. I remember when I first grabbed it at the beginning of the mia update, and yet to this day, there has been only 1 update after her addition, that severely increments the contents of her story, and thats not to say its the only one, quite the contrary, he spent so much time on the beasty portion of his game that he got a recording of a real horse and thats what took him so long for an update, and the update itself had, nothing.

Bones hasn't picked up the slack, and he won't. Until people remember that they pay him, he'll live his comfy life having kidney stones and hemorrhoids all fucking day and theres nothing we can do about it.
Maybe the kidney stones and hemroid wombo combo did him in and we are bitchng about a dead man. Just saying

He's a skeleton, my man. He's deader than dead.

Jokes aside, I get your point, however, nothing will change at all. Not until Patreon or SS intervene and even then, it's no guarantee something good will come out.

Why would they intervene? They get their cut. If they kick Bones out, they will stop getting their cut and they like getting their cut.

There's nothing in Patreon (or Subscribestar) rules to say that the dev can do sweet fuck all with his money and membership is up to patrons' discretion.

That's the concept of patronage, remember? To give a creator financial freedom to do whatever he wants and getting access to his production in exchange. Plenty of wealthy patrons over the years were duped by complete fraudsters who conned them out of tons of money. Bones is just proudly following in their footsteps.

Joking aside, there's nothing in the rules speaking out against hiatus. The best practice is to suspend paid subscriptions during a hiatus, but this is not an enforced rule. None of these services enforce any sort of notifications from the creator that they're on hiatus and they certainly don't notify of any hiatus on their own.

You may have confused crowdfunding through a patronage subscription with a game purchase where you're entitled to a specific product and where you can voice your dissatisfaction and even demand a refund. With patronage, you're paying a lot more money, but at least you're getting much worse service in return.

In most countries copyright exists the moment you create something. You do not need to certify it or claim it. Often it is beneficial to record it in someway just as evidence.

Illegal content is likewise automatically copyrighted. Enforcing that copyright? That's a different matter.
Intellectual copyright, they could make the argument that even if you change the names, hair, genders, if the story is to similar they can make that argument about it. For a example of the case of captain marvel vs superman case. So becareful, but I'm sure an argument can be made if they do truly abandon the concept allowing for public manipulation, like paragon from epic games.

That's on the part of investors who demanded objectionable content to be cut. Simple as that.

Now, the reasons for that are many, but they either fall into abetting crime (because incest and bestiality is a crime in most jurisdictions) or because of bottom line, because apparently for more objectionable content, there are much more frequent chargebacks and demands for refund. Billing operators dislike handing out refunds, but they flat out hate chargebacks, and for good reason.
Every chargeback is investigated and it's the billing operator that has to pay out of pocket if the chargeback is unsubstantiated (when service was delivered, but the customer was just dissatisfied and issued a chargeback request).
Worse still, if there are enough chargebacks, credit card companies can stop providing services to the billing operator and it's a death knell for them.

That's the reason why the likes of Epoch or CCbill collect charge 40-60% in fees.

As for what constitutes objectionable content, there are two good examples: Met-art was forced to remove some sets which showed models looking underage (like Josephine by Peter Dominic) who was photographed at the age of 21, but looked "too young" and CCbill demanded they take her sets down. Same was for that one photographer who was found to shoot underage models and there were accusations of abuse, all sets by him were taken down because of fears of problems with paperwork he submitted even for models who were clearly of age.
Another problem is that these companies go through paperwork and Karup's sites were forced to take down a lot of content in 2009 for sets and/or models which didn't have complete paperwork on file or where the paperwork was not suitable for any reason. It was a strange situation because they could compile the correct paperwork if they wanted to (as studios that licensed those pictures still existed), but decided it wasn't worth the effort, which was all the more odd as other sites like ATK had the same models and sometimes even the same sets and they didn't take them down (ATK did take some sets down, but it wasn't a site-wide purge of 80% of 3+ year old content, it was more like 2-3% content removed).

Well, still waiting to be proved wrong about doc just scamming ppl ( if they still pay for nothing )
Read Patreon or Subscribestar terms and conditions. They have zero provisions against this and will not act against creators who fail to deliver on their promises.
Two reasons:
1. You don't kill the goose that's laying golden eggs.
2. It would go against the spirit of patronage.

Caveat emptor.

Can someone fill me in on this? Why does the game's title say "Abandoned"?
Been over a year since last update.
Dev doesn't really release any notice real update, just teasers but that itself is far too sparse in between.
Dev doesn't really show themselves, not just here (he clearly stated that he is leaving this site) but in his discord too.

why this project got abandoned
not abandoned just no update in year. For some reason he works on both games at the same time instead of just finishing this one then going to the other. He also was sick for a while(might still be) which stopped him from doing anything.

i mean, if in a year there wasn't any update, news, previews, or anything else besides doc saying hes sick.....because im sure on his dc he kept saying that to his followers, i dont think this game will be finished lol.
i can be heavly wrong too, but its a matter of time to be proven wrong and so far for one year i was right..
Is there any chance for this doctor to finish what he start ?
