The funniest part is that the bar is so low with these porn games especially rpgm games that his workload is laughable and he still hasn't updated in half a year while humbly accepting his handouts. He doesn't have to make a good story, he doesn't have to make interesting characters he doesn't have to tweak a combat system its rpgm so he doesn't have to write out code he doesn't have to make dialogue tolerable(He hasn't done any of these things.) The only super challenging thing that he really has to do is make art and his fans outmaneuver him seventeenfold on that front. I can only hope that society has less room for slackers in the future.
My thoughts exactly aswell , been thinking that too.

Even more funier is the fact of comparing work schedule between a japanese game dev maker vs a western game dev maker and amazingly *not all the time on all cases* the japanese devs that do also seem to be one man workers on their projects ends up on delivering a full game or releasing periodically to their patreons, fanbox, ci-en or dl-site pages stuff for their supporters to keep on playing until dev finishes the game and gathers whatever feedback its on the way from their supporters to make of the game more fitting sooooooooooooo in that order of ideas i lose my x-mas hopes on both of his games for not the content because the artstyle its pretty nice but for the huge time gaps that are radio silence or simply a long waiting line for decent content updates.

Happy new year and yep even if its an rpg game based on grinding progress it lacks of transparent updates and that kills off the hype straight up the bat

I think this game started falling apart because of all the "rework updates" doc is doing. Like regarding the story line the game is standing still. Nothing new except you have to replay it all over again because old saves won't work. V0.16 was the first that i deleted instantly after 5 min and i didn't bother with V0.17 since it's the same. I really hoped that V0.17 will move forward with all the characters and story. And also it apears that V0.18 will be same rework update. Many game devs at least reconsider if they get backlash, doc however is persistent in his reworks. And his reworks are usualy 4-6 months of development. Now i don't understand the code, all the designing and other stuff but does it really take that much time to rework bunch of old scenes and remake them? His previous updates, before all reworks, usualy took 1-2 months.

Well its quite obvious that most likely he havent been working on the game too much , if you do proper working hours in work on a months time , you get alot done in month.

Either that or he couldn't pull it off. He said several times on this forum that he's working alone. And before it got abandoned he worked on his second game silmutaniously.

6 months mate, 6 months...feels more excuse than reason. And besides other game never got a single update in the past 2 years before being slapped with abandoned. I know he said there is going to be a update on it , but conviniently just in time when the game got abandoned tagged. But hey , he might suprise us with update on both soon , or not ? , who knows. Just need to keep waiting and see how this unfolds.

So it seems a lot of people still don't know that Doc never cared about Survivors Guilt. He made that as a backup after Patreon removed The Manor for incest or the bestiality or whatever.

This game was what he wanted to do all along which is why redhead with freckles never got an update and likely never will at this point.
Just a heads up, but check the discord! BTSG is actually being worked on. He released teasers on there!

Not just teasers, its actually been updated since its first debut and is currently being worked on rn and is going to be coming out before the new update of Manor because its been put on the back burner for so long since Manor is being requested so much. Its not because he doesn't care for BTSG, its just because it isn't as popular by demand

One of the things about solo devving any game is that it takes an immense amount of inspiration. I can't imagine completely on my own coming up with new content art wise story wise and mechanics wise for a project as long running as this after a certain point, fact is as a creative at some point you just kinda run out of things you actually feel enough passion to work on if you are by yourself and have a bunch of baggage from previous installments. The fact he made in a very short amount of time comparatively and considering it was in between updates for this game that now abandoned side project I think confirms he's dealing with some SERIOUS burnout.

I think the best way forward even if it meant compromises in the art style or some buggy code would be to bring more people on I think he definitely gets writing help already so maybe putting some of his money towards commissioning art from elsewhere would be the solution. It reminds of Never Saint which the creator has dealt with so much of his own and collaborator's bs with their project the only way they could see themselves moving forward is just rebooting the whole game back to a demo in a different shell with most of the old content gone. This game is good enough consistently, especially bugwise, compared to a messy often half baked game like Never Saint so I don't think that reboot approach would make sense but if some of the scenes were drawn in a different art style and some of the coding was done by some newbie yeah it'd probably be out sooner and people would be happier. Maybe somebody like Scarlett Ann... their artstyle isn't so dissimilar from this game's at least for character proportions lol. That said I am uber biased, I love SA's other work. Either way though, maybe the answer is ask someone else to do the heavy lifting for a while.
