Am I crazy or would these games be more successful if they had animations and slower corruption? We are talking about the difference between making 3 games that will get 10k buys max and 1 game that will get 50k
It drives me insane how little time some of these Japanese devs will spend on their games meanwhile western devs will spend 7 years on a game that gets 2 updates a year so I guess I can't complain that much.

This reminds me that Yandere Simulator is still in development.... even though the whole Yandere trend has come and gone, the game is still not done.

I just did some math and this game apparently made 105k before taking away whatever share dlsite takes. 7k buys for 15 dollars.

I guess that it's actually profitable to shit out this obviously low quality product on a yearly basis. People will buy it..

I feel like low quality is a bit much. It's a short game sure but I don't think it lacks polish or anything. It still has 40 Base CGs (of good quality IMO) and some voice acting. There are way worse examples.

I mean if it were up to me, I'd prefer making short games personally because working on longer projects can be exhausting. Its also way easier to get more feedback the more products you put out. I don't blame the dev for keeping things simple and profitable.

But when you make this short game in a short amount of time and you try to feature many of the cliches of the genre just to tick a box you end up with a shit product. Even if this is your first hrpg you won't be impressed. Just low quality writing, facial expressions, cg variety etc.

Even short games are difficult to develop. I'm not sure how big the team is but either way its a shit ton of work. Writing, programming, art, gameplay, handling all of these yourself in one product is a nightmare.

I get why people are tired of playing these kind of HRPGs since there are so many and they are so similar to each other but I don't think its fair to shit on the devs cause of it.

Also cliches are cliches for a reason, they work and tbh have never really bothered me personally. Execution matters more than how original your hentai game is.

Every job requires effort. There is nothing special about game development.

The problem is that those cliches work when you invest enough time. When you speedrun box checking your product doesn't resemble the products you are copying.

Yes but game development in particular is hard (especially if you are solo). It requires a variety of different skills in different fields. My point is I doubt the dev rushed this game out like you were originally implying.

Keeping things short and simple while sticking to what works doesn't automatically make it a shit product. Unexceptional and uninspired sure, but really how much are we expecting from our porn?

Anyway I think your opinion is fair, just disagree with calling the dev lazy.

Tried 7zip? I think Windows has issues extracting things. Maybe try posting the exact error, I've been seeing this issue pop up a lot lately.
