Tell them what IS good about the game. Not just that "all of the DETAILED elements in this game are what sets this apart from all as true NTR"
Which details are you referring to, here? I have an idea myself, as I noticed too, but if you want people to learn what you find enjoyable, be more specific.
So in reference to my initial post for electing the game as GOTY, here are my reasons. Since I figure most people don't want to read an essay I'll try to keep it as succinct as possible:
Prenote: I've been in the industry for over 15 years and seen the rise of NTR to the trends it is today. While I haven't created many games, I have been involved in many projects and held a blog/review base until I retired. In other words, I've played h-games longer than some people here have walked. Some of the best NTR games in history I consider are NTRPG series, [Pick] series, and [Venus] series. I post very rarely here, but I wish to post this one out of passion. While this game is amazing it also has flaws, but I'll ignore the flaws as devs need guidance more than "error-pointing" these days.
-Suspense/Shadow: This is the #1 factor of what makes NTR games NTR and this is what largely contributed to making this game a success. Without the shadow/indirect sex factor, it is not considered NTR in my opinion. [Derpixon] a famous H-animator most people will know highlights this in works by literally making a video on NewGrounds of H-scenes ALL in suspense/indirect sex scenes. Ironically, this in itself is a fetish, but it contributes immensely to the NTR factor. This games does an AMAZING job with the suspense factor. One detailed scene that I cannot forget is when the MC wakes up from bed within the first 10 seconds of the game. Typical heroine/hero romance situation "wake up onii-chan" shit. Most players will dismiss this as a typical intro but it serves an important purpose as it is the pinnacle to the heroine's change in corruption factor. As a result, later throughout the game, we revisit this exact scene with the heroine's shirt unbuttoned. Once you see and realize this, it's like 0-100 excitement. Having this "what happened" and pinpointing factor as such a small detail is what creates excitement for the player. The small details ARE the H-scenes themselves. If you played any of the NTRPG games, you'll know what I'm talking about.
-Perspective Factor: This game offers perspectives in all viewpoints, but it does it correctly in that it includes elements that focus on the "player knows but not the MC". The MC never instantly finds out he's being stolen but is gradually built up to it while letting the player immediately know more than him. And not just because we're playing from the girl's perspective, but because the ghost lets us do so. Since the player knows more than the MC, and we get to see this through the ghost, this builds up suspense and is very gratifying. Furthermore, we don't care about the sex scenes between the 2 themselves as much. What we do care and find way more hotter is the MC looming around WHILE they're having sex. The devs don't need to present this long drawn out AH AH AH sex scene between the old man and the girl, but the devs do need to draw out more perspectives in how other characters either see, hear, or think about the 2 characters having sex. More perspectives = more new things to discover = more excitement and yearning for more.
-Ignorance Factor: Yes, the MC and usually is, a dim-witted idiot. However, there's a fine line between a complete dumbass and someone that you, as a player, want to NTR due to our competitive male nature. Here's a good looking guy, innocent, competing against a fat ugly old guy. By having the fat guy win, the dev is letting the player know that due to the good looking guy's ignorance, he is losing the male competition to the fat ugly old guy. For some reason, this ignites inner male competition and is a turn on factor. Maybe because this seems like if a fat old ugly guy can win, maybe we, the player, would have a chance with that kind of girl in real life. I'm not sure, this is a bit difficult to explain. The profile of these guys is preference to user, but the main element of point here is that the dev created these characters in mind of the "ignorance being preyed" upon factor.
-After math/Lingering Factor: In the NTR genre we don't have this enough. First, the sprites were top notch. I know it's due to the extra budgeting and difficulty in finding an appropriate sprite animator, but when it's done right like this it's hot. Second, the dev doesn't just slap together a CG and sprite scene, he introduces the scene USING sprite animations as both a beginning and finisher. The initial excitement begins with the off-corner sprite animation, then CG, and finally lets the player thoroughly ride the high of the H-scene by leaving the player with another sprite animation. This is an excellent format that many devs do not use (does not have to be sprite but needs the lingering factor). If you want to create the impacting NTR scene into the player, you must have an after-math/lingering notion that the player can ride as a high. Integrate into the player's head that this guy/girl is getting cucked hard as fuck and do not let them think the game is vanilla. One good element to include is pregnancy. This is the ultimate lingering/after math factor and more devs need to include this. It's the ultimate form of NTR due to male nature but they need to also include how their life is in the next 5-10 years (this game doesn't include this but I thought I'd mention it).
-Multiple endings: A very big problem NTR devs cannot decide is to whether or not let the MC find out he's being cucked and take revenge. This is a huge debate, but I believe it falls into personal taste. I personally prefer the MC never finds, but the dev in this game gave us the option to allow the MC to achieve a happy ending sort of. Usually it's just 1 route of "oh my god my girl is getting fucked the end".
-Other common factors: Sprites, cg variation in outfits/expressions, a proper CG-gallery (not just the images but introducing the scene)
I could write way more but these are just a couple reasons why I believe this is the #1 GOTY NTR game of the year. However, this does not mean the game had its flaws. And yes, this game also had a LOT of flaws but most can be dismissed due to sheer lack of manpower and resources. I sincerely thank the translator who did this, and I feel he shared the same passion for this game as many of us do. I hope that many people learn throughout the years that H-games can only grow through technology and sharing of passion. Do not kink shame. In all the industries I've swapped around, porn/hentai is by far the true brotherhood creed that guys will help each other out. It's ironic and hilarious, but also endearing and inspiring.
