I like it, don't forget that H content is a must have in this kind of game, bonus point if it is incorporated in the gameplay.
Promising, I'll keep an eye on this one.

I think the idea of a playable female character who is the one taking advantage of defeated foes is an interesting premise that isn't explored very often. The only other (English) game of this theme that I can think of within the last few years is Femtality!. While I'd prefer the protagonist to be a male who is exploited upon defeat, it's still a female character doing the dominating nonetheless. I don't know if you plan to allow the female character to be raped upon defeat but you'll likely have a lot of people making that suggestion as that's what they've come to expect whenever they see a female character in a game where she can get beaten up. Personally, I think the focus should be more on the femdom aspect with any 'male domination' coming much later. There's plenty of games as it is where the male can have his way with the female.

Otherwise, I think the controls are good and responsive and simple enough unlike other 2D beat 'em ups where they add many different keybinds to familiarize yourself with. It's rather simple to just have a dodge, light attack, and heavy attack and this is a good thing. At most, perhaps you could be a bit more generous with the invulnerability frames after dodging.

I played it on easy mode (because it's a porn game and I want to see the porn without any struggle) but still felt like the opponent you fight did too much damage and had too much health. I still won on my first attempt but as the game progresses, you're going to have a lot of people complaining that:
A) Fights take too long and,
B) Enemy does too much damage.

Easy mode should exist as a difficulty setting for people who don't really want to grind or be too challenged. I tried both difficulty modes between easy and normal and there doesn't seem to be much of a difference, in fact it says that dodging isn't required on easy mode but it still actually was. If I wasn't dodging I would have lost because it doesn't seem like your attacks properly interrupt the opponent, so it's not easy to chain or combo.

I assume by "souls-like" you intend to implement an RPG system where you can upgrade certain statistics like the stamina (which also depletes way too quickly in its current version), health, attack damage, etc. Assuming that you can balance this XP system properly, that might help but in general, I think the base stamina bar should be bigger or actions should require a bit less stamina usage. This would allow people to better combo their attacks and defeat their opponents quicker. As a caveat, maybe you can make stamina regenerate slightly slower, where players can workaround that by just retreating until it recovers.

What people aren't going to really ask for is some sort of in-depth combat system à la Street Fighter, they just want to fight and see the sex so you'll need to find that perfect balance where the sex is not too tedious to accomplish. Reworking easy mode is probably the best way to do that. Perhaps damage received can remain the same but the opponent has less HP compared to the normal setting?

I also think the idea of a 1v1 arena could be pretty cool. Other games have done this as an idea, like Under The Witch. What a lot of these 2D side-scroller games have is a bombardment of enemies and then it just shows how repetitive a lot of it is when you start to see the same enemies just chasing you around the map. Every map just having one opponent who is somewhat of a "boss" could be cool because then it'd allow us to really focus on the combat and the sexual aspect of the game.

Also, don't forget that cunnilingus is a thing. A lot of these femdom games have too much of a focus on male pleasure.

Either way, good luck. I'll check back for future updates.

Everyone else in the thread said it already but Jesus Christ, stop putting 'Souls Like' in front of a fucking arcade title. It's not the same genre. It's not anywhere near in the same category. It's closer to smash bros brawl than a souls game dude.

"Souls Like" is not a genre. "SoulsBorne" is not a genre. The genre of FromSoft titles that you are thinking of is "Action-Adventure" and "RPG". "SoulsBorne" is a group of mechanics added on top of the genres that became popular after Demon/Dark Souls took off that other developers have incorporated into their titles.

These mechanics include:
Skill based combat with telegraphed attacks you are supposed to dodge with a built in roll/dash with iframes or block/parry them.
A stamina meter that all actions use that has to be managed.
Death is expected and is built into the lore/gameplay because you need to learn each enemy's moves effects/timings/patterns.
Limited healing usually through flask charges.
Environmental storytelling.
"Save" points (bonfires) are sparse checkpoints that heal you and give back healing charges but respawn enemies.
Bosses have phases based on health.
etc...

A "Souls LIKE" is a game that has most of these mechanics but not necessarily all and maybe some tweaks to them. For instance instead of flask based charge healing this game has healing at boss health thresholds which is also how they incorporate their porn into the fights. Other games like The Surge have a healing system that is charged by doing hits since it is a scifi exosuit game where hits generate power to fuel your devices. But it plays the same role where it is finite in use and you can't just stack infinite healing consumables to ignore mechanics and just outheal them.

FromSoft didn't invent any of these mechanics, but they were able to combine and balance these into a type of game that people enjoy. They chose to do that in an action-adventure rpg. However nothing in that list of mechanics says that the game has to be a 3d action-adventure rpg game with a controllable camera. I see no reason why this shouldn't be classified as a "Souls Like" because it shows most of these mechanics and will probably get more of them as it moves out of the prototype phase and becomes more than a single boss fight.

Humans like to label EVERYTHING, for better or worse. I also think that the "Souls Like" descriptor is over used and doesn't personally help me. However these types of games tend to be pretty polarizing, you either love it or hate it. It's mostly just a quick (and dirty) way to quickly tell someone if they shouldn't be interested in it. For people who do like the style of course it doesn't really help and you have to look at its mechanics specifically. Just because it doesn't help you doesn't mean that it doesn't help others and should go away. Just accept (ignore) it and move on cause its never going to go away.

Great work, it's definitely shaping up to be something good. I do have a couple suggestions.

1. Please make it so we can bind mouse buttons. I know the mouse pointer itself doesn't do anything in-game but I'd like the option to control it with wasd/space for moving/dodging and mouse clicks for attacking because it is more comfortable/familiar to me. I've been doing wasd/space with J and K for attacks which is fine but not ideal.

2. Stamina needs some tweaking of numbers. You can't really stay engaged in combat too long and you have to resort to hit and run tactics to manage stamina which makes fights take a long time in the worst way. Some combination of making things cost less, changing stamina regen delay/speed, and increasing the delay between boss attacks would solve it. Alternatively you could also make the boss be locked into a direction when he starts a multi swing attack, so that if you dodge through him to his back on the first swing, you can attack him or regen stamina during that window and now have to run away. You'd have to up his health but i'd rather a boss take longer by taking more hits and constantly be engaged with him rather than having to constantly run away from him. I'm sure stamina rates are going to be something that is constantly being tweaked, but for a prototype/test build like this it would be much better if it was a lot more generous to let us play around rather than how restrictive it is right now.

Otherwise dodging and telegraphs feel pretty good and I like the idea of healing and h-content being tied together with health thresholds. I'm looking forward to when this has more content.

I'd be all over this if the enemy gets to do things to the player. I don't know why there aren't a lot of mortal combat style H-games seems like it would be the simplest way to have action, violence and sex in a game.

Intrested in what else will happen to it down the line. The hard mode just sucks ass and is a stat tweek so ignore it as it's not balanced. Other then that their isn't much to say now, hope to see more I guess and just either cut the hard mode or balance it.

Problem's with the hard mode I've experienced is
1. Their is no sound so you have nothing sound based to go off of.

2. The characters attacks are cheap and just not fun, he constantly spams attacks and trying to learn his shit is pointless as their is no pattern nor anything to give a hint of his attack happening (audio would help)

3. His stats are just tweeked up so it's already unfair against you, that and the fact he has no stamina so he can spam shit unfairly.

4. Overall it's not challenging nor fun, normal felt better but even that suffers from no good audio or visual ques same with easy, they are just doable because his stats are lowerd which makes it non skill base and just a repetitive head banging agaisnt the wall system where you just got to get lucky.

Want more porn games to have fun and good mechanic's so I think it's important to make sure the combat feels nice and rewarding.
