We can talk about what needs fixing, where, and how until everyone is blue in the face. After a point, it becomes clear that nobody is listening. What then?No it's a suggestion, because at the end of the day, from my personal experience and many others, when you complain in a certain way, it's deconstructive criticism, vs constructive.
I can tell you, from seeing various posts online from people talk about various forms of entertainment media. All it comes off as is being whiny, aka deconstructive criticism. There's some constructive criticism, but I see more bitching and moaning over something people can control. You know by not supporting said thing.

I won't say it's a moral imperative to be 'deconstructive' when projects get to the point BotN has here, because it's not, but I will say it's better than just lamely walking away to gather around the next thing.
People like BotN and want to see it finished, but DH has made clear that nothing will change his painfully slow and inconsistent development schedule, and that makes people who support him frustrated. Simply throwing frustration away, or bottling it and moving on, are deeply unsatisfying.
Bitching is cathartic, as long as there's cause, and with BotN, there's cause.
So? Wherever you go to do it, and whoever you do it with, the point is still catharsis. You're still bitching to relieve pressure. Is doing that here with strangers somehow wrong? This is just with me as a personal thing, but I don't vent my frustrations publicly on a forum about things I'm getting frustrated at/ angry at most of the time, only certain times. Most of that is done privately to myself/ with friends.
Take of that what you will, but you do you man, just know that to most people hearing the same things being repeated to in this case a brick wall, gets tiresome quick after like the 10, 20th time. It's also equally frustrating coming in said thread to see a notification, just to not see an update.
See you're assuming I'm talking about me with that update part, I'm not, I gave up on this one, but still keep track of it along with about 2-3 others that are in the same predicament, in the exact way I described. Like I said man, I don't get my hopes up anymore with things, I do other things and move on, but still comeback to check every now and then. So? Wherever you go to do it, and whoever you do it with, the point is still catharsis. You're still bitching to relieve pressure. Is doing that here with strangers somehow wrong?
If there was some moratorium on bitching on this forum, whether in the rules or just socially enforced, easily half of the threads would fall to the back of the listings as posts stop altogether.
Someone complaining for the sole sake of hearing their own voice, that's annoying.
And if all you want is to see the update notice, stick to the dev blogs. You'll be waiting a good long while for a change, though.
I make the assumption because that is an odd complaint to have for a forum, whether it's about you or not. Being disappointed when someone responds to a thread that's flagged is kind of missing the point of a forum. Speaking of...See you're assuming I'm talking about me with that update part, I'm not,
Yeah, we're heading in a circle now, but I might as well ride it out.

It's a forum. People will disagree and discussion happens.
I see quite a bit of unity in this thread, though. Mainly about save-killing updates, the time it's taking to bring out a new UI, and especially about how the game seems to be getting progressively worse with each update, with a tendency towards increased grind for no payoff. The attitude is generally moderately negative. There's plenty to complain about, and it's justifiable. (on-topic baybeeee)
Yet people stick around the thread because the foundation is absolutely there and if DH can stop sitting on his main hand for a minute, he may yet pull off an at least halfway-decent porn monster-breeder game. All he has to do is fucking finish it. I know, easier said than done, but then again, the bar is that low for this genre now.
And Hell, ragging on games is part of the fun here. Heir Apparent for instance is a fantastic thread that still gets the occasional response, and that game is DEAD. It has been for a while. The thread is arguably more fun than the game was going to be.
I guess I can appreciate the spirit in which your initial advice was intended, but you are trying to stop a flood by standing in the middle of the river with nothing but a stern glare.
Let people complain here. At the very least it gets it out of their system for when they do head off to another thread.
look there even those who defends madden more the FIFA yeah EA suckesThere are people who even defends Fifa today.. so.. probably it's logical for them but it does not mean it's the right thing to do to improve. If a dev is milking people because of the good things he did years ago, you don't critic the game anymore, you critic his methods.
Yeah I think people should be balanced on things. For example I now love Cyberpunk but gosh I despise how ass that game is to mod, to have stable performance or that it's still under-delivering compared to what was suposed to be. Sure, I enjoy tons of it now but I cant say it's issues dont annoy me and that on either future updates or on a sequel I wont DEMAND the devs to fix their shit first hand. Same story with BotN. Love the gameplay, love the characters, lore, etc. But fucking hell the endless grind it demands you its atrociously unacceptable in a multitude of levels. Specially when the dev keeps working on overhauling pointless crap instead of fixing the real problematic things like every 4-5 updates a save wipe happening. There are people who even defends Fifa today.. so.. probably it's logical for them but it does not mean it's the right thing to do to improve. I say it's not the same. I am the one who designed that system which is grindy BUT as he kicked me from the project, I don't have any chance to balance things or add many things more like Breeder Progress and better Hybrids. He won't touch those anymore as he hates math as I guess he is not good enough at designing systems.Yeah I think people should be balanced on things. So hypothetically speaking how would you further balance the game and improve hybrids? I know it's pointless to even talk about seeing as how, for better or worse, we're likely stuck with what we have now until the "end" of development but I'm interested to know how things could have potentially turned out had derelict not had a breakdown.I say it's not the same. Sorry if this was asked before but what was your role in BOTN ?I say it's not the same. At Cyberpunk, you buy the game as you think it's worth and they are still working as you got hope that you will have a better experience someday. It's finished and you can play it. Botn will never finish, dev does not care anyone or his game even but he still milks mindless cows..
I know he is a good coder as I know again, he can work very fast if he wants. Now he is remaking UI for 5 months?... and people think it's ok.. I want that fanbase for sure.
You check my post here: https://f95zone.to/threads/breeders-of-the-nephelym-v0-756-9-derelicthelmsman.2483/post-8473782Sorry if this was asked before but what was your role in BOTN ?
They would have unique traits and such. I don't remember all details now. They will have a very special place in the game.So hypothetically speaking how would you further balance the game and improve hybrids?
