Lol the breeding season curse is too real, someone need to step up and finish that damn game so the curse can finally be lifted
It's not just breeding games that do this but at a certain point these games realize they need to actually develop a story with no real good game play options left to possibly shake things up.
Well the story of this game was so/so, but at the end we were expeacting a full game, after a lot of us did actually pay for it, u know.
I understand that. I personally don't put money into beta games for this reason. Many games have done this in the past.
The "breeding game curse" is a simple case of logistics and resources. Devs start it thinking it'll be easy, put down some basic systems to give a reason to the breeding part, get a bunch of funding from people desperate for a breeding game. Then, they realize they need a shit ton of custom assets animations for their initial plan and some actual work on story and/or mechanics so it's not just an elevated gallery viewer.
I'm not sure we'll ever have a "good" breeding game, and this one won't be it. The devs probably realized a while ago the sheer amount of assets they need with their approach and are dragging their feet cause of it. And milking their playerbase so they can fund their pet project, that's a factor too.

I think that perhaps we'll get great porn games, great breeding games, but no decent breeding porn game; it's simply two things that don't combo well together, by the reason that somethingblue listed: assets.
If the breeding game is SFW you're probably breeding the critters for the gameplay impact; getting them to look different from their parents is nice, I guess, but only secondary. This means that there are lots of room for the developers to reuse assets. And even if your mino and catgirl fuck outside of the screen, and you get an egg with an old lady saying "I wonder how it appeared...", you'll still be happy.
However, for a porn game things are different. You want to see the critters fucking; and that means creating assets for every potential combination between them. For N species, you'll get N² combinations, this grows quadratically (and the game will be probably boring if there are too few species, so that N will be really large). And... sure, you can make the offspring indistinct from one of the parents, but that's also boring.

The closest thing that i think we can realistically get is a game that "accidentally" has a good breeding system and then it gets a great porn modder for it. And sadly this kind of game will only be achieveable by mainstream / indie game devs, not porn game devs who have already corrupted by the patron-milker system

This being basically abandoned makes me pretty sad. I thought it had a lot of potential, and I actually did enjoy the story and characters a lot. Probably never getting any Katelyn content sucks.

the new generation considers 3 days of no post as being abandoned game lol
I believe the reason others stated game was abandoned was Patreon being radio silent for 4 months now and them supposively having a near completed build months before that but not releasing it.
I personally don't think they have abandoned the project at this time. Just personally won't pay money on patron because the effective cost to me will be greater than other games I would buy. A person commented that Team Bieno was just using the game as a cash cow to work on their favored project.

its bugged, try to get a previous version, do the quest using the previous game version and after completion you can go back to the most "recent". that shit is bugged since the last update in may last year and they didnt even bother with a quickfix update
