Truth be told this game could have been finished a long time ago, due to bad planning it might never be finished though, there are too many monsters and they also had VN stuff outside the breeding pit. If someone wants to break the curse this kind of game has, they should look at monster black market and learn from them.
Most games suffer from bad planning, most projects in general suffer from bad planning. A large part of it is because of scope creep where additional ideas or features are added in to the project during development. The other reason is that the idea they have in mind is significantly more ambitious than they realized.
The Story is honestly not an issue. That is arguably the easier thing to develop for a 2D game. The breeding sections and monster selection are where problems are run into as it is exponential growth.
3D has an easier time with the monster breeding section (reference Breeders of Nyphiem) because once you get the base animations down adding more creatures becomes realitively straight forward. You need to design base models have a "mutation system" (normally minor cosmetic changes) and then set which animations it should use. If you allow rendering on system then that is it. If you pre-render then you get to the same issues as 2D. Here the story scenes are harder because you likely have to actually render plan and render them. You could get away with using idle posses but at that point you are just wasting your immersion, unless it is just a dialog.

got the abandoned tag most likely due to the no updates since late may 2023 here but more importantly also no updates on patreon since mid september 2023. they can even post info or art streams daily on discord, but its the place where you earn the money that should be kept updated, even a simple monthly progress report would have prevented the abandoned tag and i think this is the second time things got to this point in this game.
why is this tagged as abandoned? They have a schedule put up for their updates. The next one is just in March and so far the developer has been keeping to the new updates schedules on the discord.

do they receive their funding through discord or patreon? not trying to be rude or an ahole here, but if they have time to post stuff on discord they have time to do some progress reports on patreon. i could be wrong here, but the abandoned tag was due to the lack of patreon (where they receive the game funding) updates.
To be fair the Discord likely is the Patreon exclusive one so their investors likely are getting the information about updates. It is potential new investors and people unwilling to pay (like me) who are in the dark.
The discord is for "patreons" and where most of their contact happens from what I know. And isn't their schedule up on the patreon? I don't check it since I'm in the discord and only watch for the updates. Not to mention there are far older games that are still sitting with no tag yet have had no activity for 3+ years now. It's only been since May was the last update wasn't it? 8 months? (There has also been confirmations of recent that they have been trying to grow the team but due to regional issues it has been... Difficult. Along with the slander from a certain other creator.)
And Last Raven, one of the writers for the game, confirmed he is still working on the game for the creator yesterday at 10:50 central time.

My point was that i believe the rules for getting/not getting the abandoned tag depends on the activity of places like patreo/subscribe star/etc. if they update the people on discord on a regular basis, they can spend a few minutes putting something on the patreon page, and the last post there dates from september 9th 2023. And tbh i think its well deserved that tag, the last update had a real fucker of a bug that makes you have to go back to a previous version of the game...in that 8 months they couldnt have made a new hotfix version? heck maybe they did and i dont know, but the last update was such a shit show, with the all simultaneous release with amity park des+pite being already ready, only to be delayed to weeks later but amity park getting a release, that i withdrew my "support". So, meh well deserved tag, it should have come sooner.
this should've been a clear message for which game is the dev's golden child and which one is the cashcow

Yeah. I mentioned it some posts ago, but for N species you're going to have N² breeding pairs, so this sort of game takes a huge amount of assets to make.
The dev could've worked around that, by only animating breeder x critter scenes, but why bother if he's still getting Patreon bucks? And that requires some insight that most people don't really have before starting a project.
I'm stuck at the quest with Katelyn, and can not find any Elves or Witches in the forest ! Can you help me ?? I'm on the 0.6 version, so it should not be have some casual bugs right ! They even said they have fixed the bugs !

As far as I know I am still working on the game - but that's not very indicative of the rest of the team as I don't really speak to anyone.
I have *very* limited communication with team Bieno, I *did* write maybe 2-3 scripts a year max for them at peak, but I rarely see any of the work, sometimes, updates would go out and I would be like 'Huh, we released?'
Regardless, I will try to chase up the team to try get some answers as clearly it's not fair on patrons and such to be left in the dark.
