How are you guys playing the game? I can't even get past the starting menu. Start is highlighted, I press enter, space all sorts of buttons, nothing works. When I click, the start button stops being highlighted. How do I start the game?

It didn't work that's why used mouse. I tried WASD, arrow keys, space, enter, z, x nothing worked.

OsenPus WASD and arrow keys both work for me, as do normal-Enter and numpad-Enter. I guess all we can do is the standard array of troubleshooting:
- Try a fresh download. Things sometimes just randomly screw up.
- Get a raw copy of the game and patch it yourself. I don't know how things can screw up when reipatcher is just two clicks, but sometime patching it yourself is indeed the answer.
- Give
- Are you trying to run the 64bit version on a 32bit system? Probably not since the majority are on 64bit these days, but it could be worth trying the 32bit version out. It's best to match the game version to your system version, though in my limited testing the 32bit version ran fine on a 64bit system (thought the inverse won't run).

When you start the game, don't try to change the MC names. The translation is done by checking the japanese string and then replaces with the english translation, but if you change the name, the original jp string will be different, so the plugin will send that to be translated via google or deepl, etc.

PS: If you don't want to see the japanese characters turning into english, set the Text Delays to 0, at the notebook options.
