So, the game is not available in Steam in Germany. Is that because DEV hasn't released the store page in Germany or is it one of the German law things?
Steam doesn't allow porn games in Germany (really shouldn't allow them anywhere, just my opinion), reasoning is Steam does not and will not ask for ID (simply giving a fake birthday/age like most sites is good enough for them) and Germany legally requires that for porn sites. I guess it's less of a hit to their profit for Valve to simply not allow porn there rather than start globally asking for a pic of your ID. I have 0 porn AVNs cluttering my wishlist or library anyway, Steam isn't needed for porn AVNs.

What's retarded about it? Other than my noted opinion everything else is fact. That's been German law since 2020. Reasoning is mostly <18's use Steam.
You are saying that we should not be allowed to publish games on steam is a retarded take. Lord Gaben is our savior with the Patreon being so retarded and subscriber star not being a popular platform. In few years many smaller devs will just start publishing their games on Steam because it's far more profitable and less restricted than Patreon.

Yes, as much as everyone screams and yells and says Subscribestar is the lord and savior, it ain't shit. Most dev's who move there fail miserably, and most who get their Patreon nuked end up just giving up as SS doesn't bring in the same revenue stream. People act like SS is so good, very few dev's make good over there, and most don't want to be associated with it, as most KNOW why some games are there, and most users don't trust it.

The Steam ban is stupid and easy to get around. Yes, so many misconceptions about Steam and everyone saying well you can't have incest or rape, and so on. Only thing Steam doesn't like is underage content, anything high school (sex inside of schools) related which circles back to point one, and bestiality. Other than that, Steam doesn't care.

Smaller devs make 3x more on steam than on their Patreon per year. Ofc its nice to have both option

Making this a sandbox is a joke
I knew you wouldn't have the balls to do that

On a serious note though, I belive what Boring decided to eventually settle with Shut Up and Dance is the best approach when it comes to technical redos. Instead of beginning a long cycle of constant early chapter reworks, he did a redo/new chapter update on a cycle. That way, both the intention of getting the early content up to the new standards were achieved and the game also progressed without being delayed for a year. Also, after playing the first redone chapter and going into the second one that had the old visuals had a very very visible difference, and pretty much every player could see with their own eyes why it was a necessity to remake the early episodes.

Yeah, from what I've seen (small sample size, and most of these dev's are not the big shots) say it's life changing, and Steam completely changed everything with the amount of money they bring in. I'm not sure how much after the initial launch, but from what I've seen many see Steam as the goal.

I purchase most things through Steam and Itch.io, most don't realize it's a "one-time" purchase. You do have some dev's that charge DLC/Season though which is another purchase.

I would rework till ep6 maybe but that would take quite some time and its not really worth it.

A shit game that is not so popular here with some very small gameplay loop earns around 15k on steam sales.

The things that Steam/Patreon doesn't allow is exactly one of the few reasons I will support an AVN on SS (and increasingly more so on Backed.by, for those stuck in SS review limbo). As those aren't allowed here or a lot of other sites like Steam so is mostly the only way to get them so is probably why most loli devs on SS make bank if their AVN doesn't suck (some over 1/3 of a mil a year). Everything else can be had for free either here or on one of the other dozen or so AVN sites so it's silly to pay for something that's easy to get for free (at least to most). Wanna get rich making a game (or at least better odds of that): instead of making mostly just fap material that isn't much different than any one else's fap material come up with a good PG13-R story, get a business loan if need be and make a good RPG or similar like used to be done. And don't forget to also save for marketing it. Funny how essentially no one takes that kinda risk for AVNs and porno games (since over 99% don't even make min wage once the hours and income are counted) and subs assume the risk instead (with most of them losing after it gets abandoned). These days simply day trading crypto is probably more lucrative if not using the render card to mine that instead (I average about 30% a year return myself on Coinbase = doubles about every 3-3.5 years). And I'm sure the payment processors will eventually quit picking on just Patreon and go after Valve as well, so will probably end up with the same AVN restrictions Patreon has (another reason to switch to crypto like most devs of banned content have done if not on SS).
