if you're talking about the leaf geometry game then yes there's a new game but i'm not sure if it's another sequel.. like asylum the title of the game is Innocent Rules, currently being developed...

'The wife and kids' is a very common way of saying that in colloquial English. It doesn't have the connotation you're suggesting at all for the vast majority of native English speakers, and it doesn't suggest that she is a tool or a thing at all.

In this case "the" implies to the speaker's wife and kids specifically. Can be also used to say for example: Come and meet the family. Meaning that they want you to meet their family.

Nah, your dictionary is right. English isn't really a "language" so much as it is a bad habit shared by Norman knights and Saxon barmaids that got too big for its britches. This is just one of those cases where the colloquial phrasing doesn't fit the dictionary definitions.
