Hi
Need your help.
Can anyone tell me where I can find the part for the cat's body?
So far I've only ever found that for the dragon.
Thanks and greetings

Sorry for my English
Do you know where those 2 cheetah girls that offer a threesome for money are? If you go to the building right behind them, there'll be 2 chests sitting against the building that have the feline body, and I believe their headdress and pattern as well.

No, because they're not paying anyone to include it on computers being sold in stores. It also isn't an asset flip, although as you noted below, it makes use of generally available unreal engine assets.
I know lad. It was a hot take to get people reading, so I can get some second opinions. I really appreciate it!

The overly critical side of me can always weasel a bad look. If we analyzed their current progress and work, it is equal to some actual app store type shovel ware. Grabbing a ton of market or free assets, slamming them together, then making a twist on the gameplay with minimal effort. Their doing it better than actual shovel-ware, but some core components are there.

And? What's your point with this? Are they stealing assets? Or are these assets available for developers to buy and use? If it's inherently bad for developers to buy assets, as you're implying, why isn't it inherently bad for them to buy and use an engine?
My lead was into how little *estimated* work they've actually done themselves, in said 6 months.

So the work they put into building a detailed map out of pre-existing assets doesn't count, the custom assets they use don't count, and anything similar to existing assets don't count? Hell, you can't even name most of the assets you're claiming aren't theirs, and are just assuming...
I literally said level design, and I expected that to key in its world building and art passing. But it guess it didnt. And I did mention their custom models, so I dont know how you veered off with the "custom asset" bit. I was expecting it implied, but the implication didn't carry again I guess.

This game has better voice acting (for the few characters who have it) than several AAA games I've played...
Yeah very much agreed.

Not gonna lie, I think you're dramatically underestimating the work that goes into something like this...
You could very well be correct! That is absolutely possible that I'm thinking about this all wrong! After speaking with more folks for further second opinions, one had brought up a thought process to this which makes it more morally sound in my eyes than I could first realize.

Make some porn models and animations, then asset flip the world and mechanics for easy porn game. Then as the strange horny fueled funding begins to roll in, one can afford to transition everything away from asset flip territory. Replacing what contents need to be replaced with custom assets, and affording more artist work to expand and polish the porn.
I'm thinking of embarking on this.

But my issue with Carnal Instinct is that in its 6 months, its barely made for the "Replacing what contents need to be replaced with custom assets, and affording more artist work to expand and polish the porn.". Sure work has gone into it, but honestly not that much compared to some even indie stuff I've seen. I would compare to my own work, but comparing to ones self is never a good idea since we all see ourselves in our own light.

Instinct does, and while I see their progress as vaguely slow and might be a bit envious of how much money they're making.....You're commenting on and criticizing an early alpha game...
The envy is very much on point, I feel it in my bones hehe. Under normal circumstances you'd be on point mention that its early alpha. But issues they have, and what they have done so far are things which I happen to know how to do myself in a short allotted time. With the time they've had, its surprising they haven't done it. Your response of the "20 years" thing does carry some weight. For all I know it could just be a mark of the character modelers time, while coders is very different.

At the end of all this, its consumers choice. I feel shame to the idea of fooling people into thinking more work and polish has gone in than it actually has, by the use of "going down the rabbit-hole of marketplace assets". But the brought idea of doing this than affording to fix it with the coming funding, makes for an end result that's less repulsive to myself.
I never claim using marketplace assets is bad. But when it consists of 90% of a product, and making so much bank as if they were your own work... Its a balance between effort and income that worries me. So much less effort with all these shortcuts, it hides the flaws in ones own made content and lack of ones own made content, but cashing out anyway? Such a thing is morally bankrupt to me.

My comment was about how the phrasing of your post implied the use of existing assets negated any work they may have put in, either to actually leverage their third party assets or make use of the ones they made in house.

I didn't say this outright in the last post, but their 20 years of game development doesn't even say what aspect of the companies they worked for. The team could well have people who worked in marketing or sales as well as people who worked in development specifically. They clearly have at least one person capable of creating new assets, and they seem to have someone capable of programming, if I judge by the launcher. But if the team only has one or two of each, this is a big project for them to carry on their own. Heck, it could easily be a two person team with an average of ten years each, and if it's ten years of specializing in one thing then they're probably going to be pretty lacking in the other hats they're suddenly expected to wear.

That said, I think that judging by their online presence and the setup of their patron, website, and steam pages, it's safe to assume that at least one team member is specialized on the marketing and consumer facing aspect, rather than game development. They could be hiring that out, but it seems unlikely if judging by the consistency.

Not to mention twenty years doesn't go very far, if it's a sum rather than an average. Two people? Ten years each. Four? Five years. Ten people? Two years is hardly enough to be a developer experienced in rapid design, development and deployment of a large scale 3d game.

Edit:

Something to consider here is timelines. One and a half weeks ago, when the last update hit? They were at 900 subscribers. The prior update, four or so weeks ago? 600 subscribers. When I first subscribed nine weeks ago? 400 subscribers on Patreon. The game released on Steam ten days ago, which means they've picked up $0 from that thus far. In terms of incoming money to finance further development, they're only just starting to hit a point where their income can do anything beyond just supporting them.

In January, with ~600 subs, their Patreon made anywhere from $1,800 to $60,000 before Patreon's cut, depending on subscriber tiers. Making the (very false) assumption that every subscriber was Ascended, and thus has access to every update, they would have made $12,000 before Patreon's cut, which is barely enough to support just the in-house team depending on how many people are there. For the ~900 subscribers they had by the end of February, those numbers change to $2,700 min, $90,000 max, $18,000 bad estimate pre-cut. The game has had literally no updates since February (aside from bugfix builds), and the next one is probably this weekend.

I'd watch what goes on in the future, rather than complaining about what's going on right now. Development wise, the game doesn't even have many of their core planned mechanics and features yet. Your specific complaint about the sex scenes is valid, and they already have publicly stated plans on that front. (They've explicitly stated they want a free camera mode and dynamic interaction, and most scenes they're implementing at the moment involve them toying with some aspect of animation or new features, directly or indirectly.)

But yeah, right now? The game is way too early in development to tell. Ethics of selling an indev testbed aside, I'd be making my call after the money has a chance to talk. Three months from now is when I'd call whether the developers are capable of doing this, six months is when I'd say it's a fair call on whether the devs are actually trying to make the game rather than just make money.

Very fair.
Obviously a lot of what I speak of is my own experience. Last week in a small NSFW side project that I had little intentions of doing much, other than for my own entertainment. I had created a free camera system in 30 minutes, accurately replicating 3D software controls, but mapped entirely to the mouse for 1 handed work. Within the recent days setup up a character control rig for the UE4 sequencer, and was now animating in-engine on the fly. Spent 5 minutes to make a funny pixelated censor feature for the hell of it. 2 days ago I just made a material based soft skin touching system. So touching skin will actually make it squish, along side bone based jiggle physics. So I'm very "i can do this, and have done this before in such short time. why do these elements take so long for them? Are they being lazy? Is this a well coordinated cash grab?"
When in reality its more likely their artists and/or more-so skilled in other avenues.

Care to show some of that stuff? Do you have an online presence? Where can we follow your work? You might be sitting on a gold mine dude. If not for yourself you can sell it to others.

Do you have an online presence?
Yes and no. After some work was put into the project, I did think to myself "What if this works out really well? I guess I should prepare for anything." So I have accounts and a game title for it so an online presence can be had. But they've not yet been utilized for this purpose. Been kinda chilling till it reaches a point I'm happy with to go public.

When and if my NSFW projects go up, they will be posted about on this account:

The thought behind the project at this point is that it could act as a platform for content I make. Instead of rendering animations in some software then uploading a video, I can just let people play the animations in a game. If I'm lucky, other CG artists could Collab with me and I could push character specific content packs for people to play/view. Its VR and desktop compatible, meant to have good graphics.

But there's apart of me that's shamefully tempted to take the highroad, and just do what Carnal Instinct is doing. Do more than just a limited animation viewer where I can include peoples characters. But just a game. With unlocks and ways to have animations and characters play out differently.
Utilizing what was suggested to me, that massive amounts of marketplace assets could get used. Then use the blind hornies money to afford to replace and fix things in the game. I threw ideas at the wall, and I could just jump on a medieval theme. A prettier, brighter, and hornier skyrim. Plenty of marketplace content available.

Dragon shortstack looks more like a kobold than anything, though I suppose the dragonids, draconids, w/e don't have wings in game. But holy shit give me that greater demoness! Here's also hoping for jackals, I'm not at all into the felines in the game.
