This might be a driver issue since you were able to play older game versions before. Check and see if your gpu driver updated recently, you may have to roll back the driver to a prior version. The only other thing I can think of is not enough v-ram which would be strange since you could play before.

With 16Gb of Vram I think if it's a shortage of it, most people in this forum would complain about that too, so this is unlikely. As for the driver version, I forbade AMD from auto-updating in about 5 different ways, but according to AMD my drivers are still the latest available (they focused on the 9K series of GPUs and haven't touched the 6 and 7K series in a while).

Nevermind, I've found a solution from the depth of the mid 2000's part of my mind: launch the game twice. One instance crashes, the other does not.

My specs are AMD 7800X3D & 7800XT, 64Gb ram and windows 10 (because unreal 5 past v5.2 cannot run without windows 10), I think the crash is due to the game being overly optimized for NVidia GPUs (after all they're 92% of the PC market)

The only (times) i got fatal errors, was during playing, when 'saving' , sometimes during launch like you.
This happen to me with older version like 0.6.xx
My ram spec are ddr4 - 4400mhz cl19-19-19-39 "1.45v"
i did an oc&uv > something like that > 3800 cl14-15-14... "1.41v" woking fine but after an update , i got the fatal errors ...
now with > 3600 cl14-15-15.. never got a fatal error (with 0.6.9--0.7.0 --0.7.1 et now 0.7.2...)

Edit: I forgot to tell, even with the XMP/DOCP by default ''cl19-19-19-39 and 3800mhz" i got fatal error...

Just in case, we never know...Try in cmd/powershell > sfc /scannow

I'm an AMD 7800X3D user, there is no overclocking that, only underclocking everything to actually improve performances so everything -even my GPU- is underclocked to 60% of its designed speeds or TDP.

Has anyone tried doing the "Would you?" mini-quest while playing a male character?

I've tested each of the 3 options to finish the quest with a female MC:
- the Vigilante ignored the 1st one;
- when I picked the one that requires 12 Presence, he just vanished;
- and when I chose the "Seduce" option (as the most suitable for a female character), he reacted with such an unconcealed disgust that it looked rather insulting, yet the quest ended and I earned some Carnal Instinct points as if there was a sex scene involved.

So now, I'm curious:

Did the Vigilante reject the offer because he's a super-strict gay (or a die-hard misogynist)?
If so, then there should be a different outcome for male vs male interaction.

Or did the devs intend to place a sex scene right there, but something went wrong and they hastily replaced it with a negative response, yet stil granted the CI xp?

I played using female character, for the 1st option you can kill him after and have his gold "200" if i remember correcly + xp. when choose "Seduce" he just masturbate (i think) or too exited and ejaculate (The scene zooms on his torso , so we can't see)
with "the deceive option " You can't kill him after...

anyone got any good tips on building up your ci level aside from just playing with yourself over and over like which sex npc gives the most exp so far I think 75 is the most I've gotten from one so far.

I forgot, what do we need it for?

Let's see, I am currently lvl 9 with CI lvl 6. I never focused on leveling it, simply played the game and visited the same few virile NPCs between quests, like every 20 minutes or so. Eventually, it leveled up.

it is the UE5 indeed and I destroyed all effigies, I'm facing the creature into the pit with the piled pottery...

I might be late, but what you need to do is interact with the small effigy inside, on the left side near the end of the first chamber (where he roams). After that, the boss will disappear. Continue through the dungeon, and when you reach the well, you have to fall in. After defeating him, take his head, and the way out in the room is through an opening in a wall. Since it's dark, it's hard to see.

I'm curious, is there any meaningful way to spend gold in this game?

I get craploads of weapons, armor, and clothes by looting the enemies and checking the loot boxes.

I sell everything to vendors, I have well over 30k gold nubs, yet there is nothing worth buying in the stores.

To LVL-up CI go to Pleasure Island talk to adept (i pick her with the horsecock) next to the tent & Altar on Fire
Press "E" then to pass dialogue left click
then Exit the scene ... No need to wait tiil the end (+50CI)
Repeat it several times in a row (that can take 3..5min, depends on the lvl already reached and the bar)

This is the fastest way I've found to level up.

The problem is that all the quests are non-repeatable, so, if there's a sex scene involved, you won't be able to see it if you load the "complete save".

When all quests are done, there's nothing to do in the game, until the next update.
