100% agree with you on the incest not required in every game part but in this game it is required. They both are central characters of the story so there definitely will be a solo Jaye route and they'll bang which is good.

Except it isn't incest as they are only step-siblings, which can legally marry. The only place i know where this is illegal or even counts as incest is patreon

The story, the characters, the connection between Jaye and MC everything was prefect, I so want them to be together!

Well they did have some...real life interruptions. Though it were pleasant interruptions, so it's nothing to actually worry about.

Yeah, the dev hasn't logged into patreon since May of last year. One of the most promising games of last year. Well done renders, interesting premise, some fun ideas, quite a few updates done quickly and then bam! gone... Now I see a game like Chasing Sunsets where the first release made a splash and then nothing and I worry, with all the shit going on, that the devs will have real life interrupt them. I can't blame anyone for deciding to go do something else with their lives or having their real lives divert their attention. I just wish people would communicate that fact (not saying that's what is happening here at all, I know they have an active Discord) and not leave fans hanging. I'd rather be disappointed than clueless.

Real life has interrupted us in a few ways, but they have all been well-advertised on our Patreon page: We've both rebuilt our dev machines and workflows, had some holiday downtime, and we took our promised short time out for Cyberpunk 2077.

Those are behind us, and our focus is on delivering Chapter 1. We don't post here often, but we do check it every day. We are hoping to hit an end-of-January release for this, and do not expect future chapters to take as long in development as this one has.

For those who are patiently waiting, we appreciate you.

Hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe. As I said my comment wasn't really directed at you but more a general worry about the lives of the people who create the games that so many love. You do all of this on your own, no giant company behind you, and so I understand when people step away. Just would like to have a "goodbye" post from developers before they left.

No worries. It HAS been a while since we posted here, and it felt like a good time to reassure folks that we're committed to seeing this project through before tackling anything else. The comments section is the canary in the coal mine.

I dislike Jaye and want the MC to have nothing to do with her. However, it seems unlikely that the MC will have a satisfyingly fleshed out ending with someone else so I think we should prepare to be disappointed. This was a solid prologue but, as we approach 4 months without an update, I am beginning to think this will be a game that updates once or twice a year.

I really hope ur wrong, if resources/time are limited i hope they choose quality over quantity approach, (which sadly is the exception) i'd rather have 2 or 3 fleshed out LI's than a dozen half assed ones.

Well i really was lucky to completly forget about Radiant for about 5 months or so, as such the wait wasn't all that long, can't say the last update was all that good thought.
Top visuals and animations, but the writing and storyflow where rather subpar + they seem to go for LI's in a dime a dozen.

Lucky! There are four games that I liked which are abandoned or effectively so (Connected, Queen's Curse, Moonlight Sins, and Bad Teacher). I hope that this game doesn't have the same fate but considering the buzz around the initial release this thread is more quiet than I would expect.

Eh, I have no insider knowledge just felt that way after playing the prologue and not having any other LI introduced while the MC has continued to be obsessed with Jaye to the point where even years later he sees her when he fucks another woman. I am sure they have plans for other women just skeptical that they will get as much attention as Jaye since she is a major component to the entire narrative and all the MC talked about in the prologue. I've said before that if she is the one and only for the MC that is fine but I'm not into predestination games.

I felt the same playing the prologue.
Yeah the whole predestination in games, books ect. is also not my thing. Especialy as i really can't stand the chosen ones most of the times.
But at least from the prolouge i think the writing is really good, so i hope we get 2 or 3 alternatives which have a good written and fleshed out story and ending.
This is actually one of the few games i really wait for an update.

Milfy City is the king of never updating but having a ton of support.

Thats probably the largest mystery...i really can't understand why so many people support such a dev and this isn't even the first game where he lost interest halfway.

I don't know that Radiant could ever live up to the hype that it generated with its first release.

The last time i was really hyped about a game was Mass Effect 3... i learned my lesson back than.

But yes it was more than than clear that Radiant could never live up to the hype, but even as someone who wasn't, i can't say the last update was more than medicore and from what i understand how many LI's they want to implement...well i honestly don't have all that much hope for the game, thats maybe just me thought.

That is easy explained Dammed and Alorth work together on Radiant but both of them have individual games they are working on and if I remember correctly 1 of them also does animations for another game.

Yeah, I got over the chosen one thing in books, games, movies, etc... I read so much fantasy fiction when I was younger to the point where nothing surprises or interests me in fantasy fiction, I can recognize the tropes almost instantly.

I hope that the devs go for 3-4 well written love interests and not with a "huge pile o' women" and I also hope my picky ass likes one of them. It's not Jaye for sure...

I'm in a similar boat there, after u read a large amount of a certain genre there is hardly anything which is surprising, in my case fantasy and scifi.

Yep clearly not Jaye, i really hope one of the LI's will fit my taste.

I get supporting someone who is slow and consistent or who finishes what they start but when they are slow, inconsistent, and abandon things I am always perplexed by loyalty. End of the day it isn't my money so more power to him for being able to convince people to stay...

Pretty much this, sometimes it's just perplexing with how much zeal these fanbases are justifying pretty much anything.

Yeah, I am trying to summon up some excitement at the fact that Bioware has decided to dust off Mass Effect and Dragon Age... But after the terribleness that was ME3, ME:A, and Anthem... I just don't see it.

Nowdays i'm mostly playing/supporting indie dev's, the larger studios are pretty much only about mainstream, shallow gameplay, bad story, overpriced DLC policy and often playing beta tester for half a year until the obvious game breaking bugs are resolved... it just has no appeal to me...could also be that the cynical asshole in me gets more pronounced as the years go by.

I still have some hopes for this game, not large ones as I refuse to get hyped. But the prologue was done much better than anything I've seen since... Hopefully the devs will be able to be more consistent in delivering updates after getting this one done.

Yes the prolouge was certainly top, i hope they will get more consistent, we will see i guess.

I played the first version of Radiant and liked it but I don't follow the thread so I don't know the details why it took them so long but even if their other projects aren't the main factor in the long development time, they certainly don't help with faster updates. I haven't played the update yet because I want to wait and see if they can improve how fast they can get updates out.

Those 2 devs stated, that if they hit their patron goal, they would work full time, to which i assume would be 40/hr week, but given how slow radiant updates, even though i'm not a game dev, i know for a fact it sure as heck doesn't take them half a year to release a 30-40 min game update while working FULL TIME. Now yeah, sure if the goal was not hit and they spend a few weeks on the game, while working full time, paying the bills ect with a full time job, i would get it, but full time;8 months? Yeah,nty. They know they made a game which hits those kind of peoples niche, and got the people that are addicted to that game in their hooks.

It's smart in a sense, but to those none obsessed guys/gals..well its pretty easy to see they are milking their patrons. I too have yet to play the new update, even though its on my drive, my interest in the game kind of died down given such tactics.

while you are probably right regarding that/those (i would gladly say "shitty milking", yet i wont say it) game/devs, this is not a place to discuss other games apart CS.
you, and those discussing it here, should consider transferring the discussion, either in the radiant thread (and be prepared to instantly be bombed by numerous bots/keepers), or to open thread in off-topic section (where is a bit more freedom to express non-radiantish thoughts i assume )
