I want good things to happen to and for Tara. Lifetime loyalty, Tara for Jaye and I believe, Jaye for Tara, is a rare and precious treasure and should be celebrated.
Here is one way I envision celebrating Tara!
I've thought about epilogue moments as we get closer to the conclusion of Chasing Sunsets and one of the ones I really like/hope for is something like the following:
The MC and Jaye get married (Tara is, of course, Maid of Honor); Jaye gets pregnant on the Honeymoon; 9 months later, Tara is there when Jaye gives birth.
Tara is waiting to see Jaye and the baby when Alex comes and says, 'Aunt Tara, come - we have someone we want you to meet!'
Tara's voice catches and she just nods yes, following Alex into Jaye's hospital room.
Tara starts to enter the room and then stops in the doorway, temporarily overwhelmed at what she sees.
There is this beautiful little girl held by a tired but glowing Jaye who is somehow wreathed by the reds and golds of the light of a setting sun.
Jaye says 'Come say hi to your niece, the newest member of the Campbell family.'
Tara somehow goes from the doorway to Jaye's bedside without taking a step, all while her eyes are focused on the baby in Jaye's arms - noticing fine wisps of red/blonde hair as she approaches.
When she reaches the bedside, Jaye tells Tara that she and Alex picked out the perfect name for the baby, a name that means love and loyalty.
Tara is already reaching to take the baby saying, 'I want to hold her.'
Jaye chuckles and releases her into Tara's arms.
Tara looks first at that perfect little face, seeing hints of both Jaye and Alex as she cuddles her into her chest, then Tara looks back to Jaye who smiles and, once she has Tara's attention, says 'Meet Tara Campbell.'
Tara, not normally given to emotional displays, finds her cheeks wet with tears; she sniffles while smiling at Jaye, then she turns her head to look at the precious baby in her arms and says, ' Hi Tara, I'm your Auntie Tara - your momma and I are going to teach you and show you what it means to be best friends!'
