That's why I just bought a PC, costs more than Joiplay but easier to deal with and works every time unless the AVN itself is just plain buggy or not made for PC.
I already have a PC, it's just that It's risky to play nsfw game on pc when you have roommates who can enter anytime without knocking. I prefer playing this kind of game in my android

This has given me a good chuckle this morning. "There's no closure to the Tara path. Tara just disappears after the airport pick-up." etc...

You know who else just disappears after the airport? George. But no one is complaining about him, because no one wants to fuck him  There's no Tara path. There's no indication of anything to close with Tara. It's clear from the pick-up scene (and before, frankly) that there's nothing there. Both Tara and Jaye spell it out anyway, but they don't even need to do that. Anything that happened was in the past, and now the relationship is friends only as opposed to friends with benefits. Romantically, it was never anything more than that.
Uhhh, no. People aren't complaining about that because George DOES appear in the chapter:

A better comparison might be Lisa, who only appears on a phone call if the MC pried into her family business last time. But that scene was specifically about providing closure for Lisa's arc and people definitely want to fuck her, so even that argument doesn't hold up well.

I suspect it's more of a case that the writers just can't grasp the idea that one man's treasure is another man's trash. It's completely inconceivable that a player could find their favourite characters to be unattractive.

They see Amanda as a sexy and charismatic person, so it must true for everyone. Who wouldn't want to get molested in their sleep by her? Why wouldn't a player who is rejecting everyone else in order to romance Mallory want her to suddenly make out with Amanda and tell the MC that she wants to open up their relationship in order to fuck her best friend that she's apparently been in love with for years?

It's just like how Jaye would do wildly inappropriate things like spy on you in the shower, rub against your crotch when you can't say anything to stop her, and steal your journal to masturbate on your pillow while she reads it. They thought it was sexy and fun, while I thought it was creepy and unhinged.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh here. We did have that one really good scene early on where you confront Christian on the boat and we had several different choices on how to deal with the situation that Jaye manufactured, including two different choices to be rather harsh with Jaye. I chose the one where you beat him up and then don't return Jaye's hug as we tell her that we did it for our parents and not for her. And for a very short period of time there, it looked like the game was going to have a proper path where you wouldn't reconcile with Jaye and just move on from her instead. But that didn't even last the length of that update, because Jaye sits the MC down in his room for a talk and the MC takes the blame for everything while she pretends that she never knew why he stopped playing with her for a day and a half as a child.
To be fair, the devs did recognize - at least on an intellectual level - that people could turn down Jaye because they made a solo-Mallory path possible. It does all too often feel like they did that more for an extra achievement than out of any sincere belief people could actually disapprove of Jaye.

And don't even get me started on Amanda's latest antics. @#$%@$% sex offender.

Just an FYI: the reason the Steam build in the OP is twice the size of the standard game is because it has content packed for both PC and Mac. So no need to download, as it won't offer anything new.

I think you missed my point there, but I'm not sure if it was an intentional miss or not. Just in case, it's more that people are pissed they didn't get scenes with Tara because they read the signs wrong and expected that a Jaya/Tara threesome was locked in.

I have to agree just like they locked in Amanda Mallory and mc. The same was expected with Jaye Tara and mc. At least I thought that. Maybe due to Lisa and Tara being in the new game together they are planning something else for Tara.

Then let them get an eyeful of you fapping to AVNs, I can guarantee you they will knock next time, unless they are weird and enjoy watching you fap. Similar story: one of my neighbors totally gets on my nerves (mostly just knocks on my door to bitch about the dumbest shit and ask for money). Solution: simply answering the door naked (preferably with a hard-on for added effect) the next time she knocked. I haven't heard her bitching in the 3 months since.

I know CS is not Pulitzer material and - yes - there are some plot holes, like Every AVN I have enjoyed but, I'm not a professional editor for my day job and I take my AVNs lite - RL has me covered for drama and I don't play my AVNs for more of the same.

That being said:

Among the many things I enjoyed about this release of CS was the following.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I'm waiting for an epilogue moment when Jaye and Mallory tell the MC that he has a surprise waiting for him when he returns from Colorado where he helped out at the lodge for a few months...

When he enters the living room, both Jay and Mallory stand up facing away from him, then turn around at the same time, yelling:

Surprise... Daddy!!!

[Render showing tight shirts highlighting baby bumps on both women]

(sabbatical from Polygene and yes - lighten up :p - for those who want to forget this is fiction...)

Cheers!! :coffee:

I agree with most of what you said, and you helped clarify some of my own thoughts. The MC returning home should have been huge, and nothing was done with it. The reunion with Tara should have been huge. Even if the devs didn't make her a love interest or have a possible trouple with her, she was a huge part of the story, and there should have been a pay off and resolution. Whether Amanda was involved with Mallory and the MC had almost no impact on the story. There should have been scenes that addressed that situation if it existed.

I had exactly the same problem. I ended having to go back almost to the beginning and changing the two times I said I was interested in both, during the topless sunbathing scene and before shots at the bar, to focusing on Jaye.

I had two saves at the end of chapter 8. One with Jaye at max love and trust, and one with Mallory at max love and trust. It was impossible with either of those to have the chosen girl have max points at the end of chapter 9. Ironically, I did end up with Mallory exceeding max points on the polyamory route due to the massive boost she gets when you agree to it.

Anna from To Be A King was made a cameo in this game. Jaye, Mallory, and George made cameos in Single Again.

My first ending was dying on the boat to the assassin. Why? Because I didn't train with Tanaka. Why? I didn't want to cheat on the other girls.

As I mentioned, the last two chapters felt rushed. The threat just escalated with the attack. The characters just learned the true extent of the threat and that they were being targeted directly (we as players knew much more than the characters did due to the various scenes away from them). And everything was resolved in chapter 8. Not a single decision you make in chapter 9 impacts the threat. There are two virtually identical outcomes with minor variation in text. Far different from the different paths you could take earlier in the game. The trust stat is almost worthless in the last half of the game. You'll get penalized trust points for cheating, but trust points are never used to determine any outcomes. If you sleep with Lisa while in a relationship with Jaye, she'll resign. If you try for a committed relationship with both Jaye and Mallory, you get a bad end. Other than that, there aren't any consequences for cheating. A lot of side characters were sort of forgotten. It really does feel like the devs just decided they were done with it and rushed to the end. Hopefully, the epilogues will help, but it did hurt it. This game went, in my opinion, from being a good game to just above average.

It also didn't help that Mallory and Jaye were the main love interests, with Jaye being the primary. Don't get me wrong. I liked Jaye, but I liked Mallory better. And I liked Lisa as much as both of them, and she felt like she deserved an ending. I liked Bianca a little less. And Tara was such a big part of the story that, relationship or not, sex or not, she needed a few scenes towards the end. And Amanda needed specific scenes if she was part of the relationship with Mallory. And I wanted to know more about what was going on with Erika and her family.

Actually, I think I just realized part of why I feel this game became disappointing. Just like it seemed like the devs wanted do something complicated and grand with the routes and stats early and gave up, it feels like the devs didn't know what to do once the characters were in relationships. Jaye and Mallory were more interesting before the MC got into a relationship, open or committed, than afterwards. Variant scenes mostly vanished. A couple of sex scenes. It's like they didn't know what to do at that point and just wanted to wrap it up. The game feels like it got smaller and simpler as it progressed. I may be entirely wrong, but it just feels that way to me.

My guess it that you will have an option if in an open relationship with one or both girls to commit to one before you get set on the alone path.
did you play this game with mods? where did you download it? my mod showed wt options but didn’t show which option gives points and to whom when I chose the options they both got points and so I couldn’t sabrat max points walk with one ((I play on the android versions .. can you tell me where to download this game the necessary mods?

honestly I don't see much point to a mod for this game unless you plan to only ever play once, in the preferences you can turn on relationship tracking and see your current point levels and the bonuses when you get them. if you feel like meta gaming you can just rollback and choose a different option to get the max points you want.

My guess is if you're in an open relationship with Mallory you'll have a chance to commit to Jaye. I'll certainly be happy if they give you the option to commit to Mallory instead (or even to reject her at the last minute regardless of Jaye), but I'm not expecting it.

The issue, I think stems from the devs looking at the Jaye/MC pairing as a Princess Bride-style, one couple in a century, true love deal. The two of them are so perfect for each other that even someone like Mallory can only bow her head and acknowledge that her own desires must be sacrificed for the greater good. For the player to seek more than Jaye - when she is already everything he could want and more - would thus be a sign of greed and selfishness and should be reprimanded. If, on the other hand, the player acknowledges this universal truth and tearfully cuts things off with Mallory, then it's okay to reward his loyalty and so his 'sacrifice' will be returned to him.

Mallory's relationship with the MC falls a little short of that lofty standard, which is why the process can't work in reverse; the only valid reason to turn your back on Jaye would be if Jaye is just not the player's type at all, in which case they logically wouldn't want her included in a throuple either. In essence, Mallory was never intended as a *rival* for Jaye, she was an optional extra that could also serve as a consolation prize for those who just don't click with the main girl.

Obviously I don't agree with the devs' reasoning here (neither in how pure the Jaye/MC bond is, nor in why the MC might not leap at the chance to commit), but that's how they seem to have approached the narrative. In retrospect, I wonder if that's why the threesome with Amanda felt so discordant; the devs got near the end and realized Mallory's path felt too threadbare compared to Jaye's option to have the cake and eat it to, so they hastily wrote Amanda into Mallory route more for logistical reasons than for character ones. It would explain why the Amanda throuple comes out of nowhere and has next to no effect on subsequent chapters.

As I mentioned above, I don't think the polyamory ending we got has anything to do with waiting for characters to be 'ready for it,' I think it's based on myopic view of the player's motivations.

Besides, if that was the explanation it still wouldn't make any sense. People don't suddenly become "ready" for a polyamorous relationship by pretending they won't be in one! If Jaye is only okay with a polyamorous relationship once she's convinced Mallory will be nothing more than a second fiddle to her, then the whole relationship is doomed. The point of limiting the MC's interest to Jaye and Mallory but refusing to commit to either would be get all the parties ready for such a thing on an even footing.

I agree it would have been better if we established some sort of polyamorous framework before we started fucking the girls, but that's an option the game will not tolerate even on the solo paths!
Thanks for giving a detailed response and actually answering the question instead of telling me what they think isn't going to happen. And I agree if they had given the player the option to reject one or the other on the open path it would have went way better. Instead it seems that Jaye is always interested unless you treat her very poorly and Mal not so much. In fact Mal cried more for her puppy than I ever remember her crying for the MC.
