Quick Dev Update - Beta 3 has been scrubbed and I have three variable bugs to fix tomorrow. Sound, dialogue, and visual effects finalization is proceeding quickly. In the past few days, the phone widget has undergone an upgrade so it's much easier to tell who is speaking and things like phone-related choices can be executed within the interface. This will be retrofitted into prior chapters after Chapter 10 has launched as well. Some of the pathing has been reworked over the past couple of days in both minor and major ways. Some scenes have been moved around to break up areas that felt a little too linear. Additionally, a few additional scenes have been added toward the end. These are largely "clean up" scenes where we realized we had a loose end that could be tied up neatly at the cost of comparatively few renders. In some cases, paths have been tweaked to give them content that would originally only been visible on a different path. Two of the Peanut Gallery images were removed over copyright concerns (Erica wearing a Nirvana shirt) and replaced with alternates from Kentyrr's Tara stash. Several scenes have also been extended or augmented to better capture the personalities of the characters involved.

Our fourth beta will likely go out later tomorrow or early Sunday and will be our release candidate. Thanks again for your patience while we stitch the last bits together. "

I believe they are US-based, and it was posted very late Friday night for US time zones. So "tomorrow" would have been Saturday.

I was shooting for the Blended Family ending (Jaye + Mal poly) but seem to be messing up somewhere. I followed the recommended options using the walkthrough mod and that just ended with the MC being alone. I thought some of the choices seemed odd, but I was curious where the green options were leading, so I just kept going with it. Apparently they just led to being single! Specifically it led to an option to either 1) commit to Jaye, 2) commit to Mal, or 3) walk away from both.

So I fell back to an earlier save and tried different options but this time Mal broke up with MC after their cabin night together. I even used the Cheats and maxed out her points and it still happened. So I'm trying to figure out where exactly I went wrong and I have no clue.

The chapter screens said that I was in an open relationship with both Jaye and Mal, so I thought maybe that's what was causing Mal to eventually bail because she wanted more (so did I, girl, but I can't figure out how to get there! ). So I tried going back even further and formally committing to both in separate scenes, which seemed like a bad idea to me but I thought maybe I'd just misunderstood, but nope, that just led to an early game over.

I don't usually have this much trouble navigating VNs but for some reason this one has just turned into a labyrinth for me.

Because you are using logic and common sense and trying to get there by being open and honest with them both. That's a mistake here.
This is a rough guide of how to get to the poly ending.

1. After first sex with Mallory, tell her it's just to help her.
2. Do romance path with Jaye
3. When Jaye is upset choose "what's wrong" and then "phone a friend".
4. When you leave Cabin with Mallory tell her "I wish things were different."
5. When you have sex with Jaye at George's house you need at least 95 love points with Jaye & at least 80 with Mallory.
6. If you've met all that, Jaye will offer you the choice of Mallory only joining a Poly relationship (not a throuple).

If I remember correctly, there are two big decisions where you are with Mal, but you don't commit in either. Also, the other stuff with Jaye is the same as a Max love route. The decision where you are talking about your mom in the hotel bed together, and in the morning scene after her big sex scene where you also don't 100% commit.

Do NOT follow the mod walkthrough. It is not set up for you to get the poly path. Ignore what it suggests and follow the steps Justaphase just listed.

That is the most issue asked on this thread and answered and given resumed walkthroughs number of times, including myself. Shouldn't be hard to find answers if you search on the thread something like "poly" or "Jaye+Mal" (make sure you put on your preferences for searches appear from latest time order). Disregard this since Justaphase already gave you a resume while I was typing this hehe.

The walkthrough mod isn't informative enough in saying what choices are better for a particular path/ending, there are 5 paths/main story endings, solo Jaye, solo Mal, Poly Jaye+Mal, Throuple Mal+Amanda and alone. Best in depth walkthrough around is the pdf walkthrough from Mr Bubu but even that one you need to go from the end of it and backtrack the variables. But the post above mine from Justaphase give you a good resume of the main steps.

Yeah first I searched "Blended Family" because that's the name of the achievement. Then I tried "both" thinking someone might have asked how to end up with both Jaye and Mal, but that brought up nothing too so I just said "fuck it, I'll just ask". I do usually try to Search for things first but I guess my search-fu skills aren't very strong lol

It's specified that there will be no interaction between the girls - so they won't indulge in lesbian acts without MC, and they also won't be having threesomes. So essentially you are in two individual relationships at the same time, with the blessing of both girls.

Well I'm no expert but I think that polyamorous is used here rather than throuple because Jaye says that she is ok for the MC to have a relationship with Mallory also, but no threesomes. Let's see if that changes during the epilogue. Fingers crossed!

Its when this questions about how to get the Jaye+Mal poly main story ending that I miss more Sancho and his mods, its a pity he went MIA and didn't finish it because I'm sure he would make a kick ass informative mod to reach each of the paths like he did on BW. Very few modders bother to give information on the choices that lead to this or that particular path.

Bare Witness is still has my favourite ever endings for any VN, admittedly there aren't that many VN's that are finished. I'm curious to see if Chasing Sunsets endings will be as good or better.

I played a bit of it once but it was a while back and I don't remember that much.

Edit: Sisterly Lust is one of my favorite endings off the top of my head. In a ridiculous porn-ending kind of way lol.

That render only comes up if you choose the "pegging" option on the poly path.

You're right though, it does offer hope, even if the way they are positioned makes it look like just a "fun" render rather than anything natural. Perhaps it's another red herring though, like the Jaye/Mallory shower and pillow fight scene (I can't remember if it was an actual pillow fight, or just something along those lines).
