I have come to an conundrum. Do I go to Hookton Village where I am able to rescue Beth? Or do I go to Rivermont where I can rescue cute, adorable Marie? These are the important choices in my life.

I think this game would make a good case study as to how making a game's budget via monthly donation services like Patreon can be a detriment to the game's structure and content as a whole. A lot of the stuff they keep dedicating focus to (the Sisters of Fertility questline or whatever it's called comes to mind) seems less like something that needed to be finished before release and more like something that their patrons want more than a finished game and thus ends up being what they spend their time on. If they had been working on the main quest the entire time, the game would be finished by now.

Aren't there like two more areas that need to be visited before the game is finished? And three of the four currently in the game have been there since launch? No shot this game gets finished any time soon, let alone the potential DLC that they make.

For the record, I have no idea what my proposed alternative would be because I understand that bowing to the will of the people willing to invest is how these games get made in the first place, but it is nonetheless a shame.
Thats not the main problem as the backers are making the game happen by supporting the devs its obvious they will dictate what gets the main priority. The main issue is the devs are on purpose delaying the updates or are lazy (probably both) so they can milk their backers up like cash cows since if they finish the game there will be no point for the backers to give any more money. Thats a issue patreon has with its quality control and how dead end projects are allowed to be funded without be updated or anything.

And that's a problem with every game using this pay model. On the other hand before parton and other similar sites the were little to no porn games with western origin. So i think this is better than nothing. At lest these guys have one finished game under their belt and keep pumping updates for Claire's quest. And finaly i like this game. Yea there are fetishes that i dont like - rape ,overused bestiality and so on. But still its one of the games on this site that im interested in.

Games suffering as a result of their content being chosen by patrons is sort of the point that I'm making, though. I think it's probably the case that a lot of games suffer in quality because of the need to stick random fetishes in places or focus on things that weren't supposed to be a big part of the overall narrative.

Again, though, I know that it's how these games get made in the first place, just interesting to consider that they lose something by being made the way that they are.

I have a rather specific question, is there a way to edit the 'filter' the game window uses to resize? When you click to go fullscreen the graphics (text/sprites/etc) gets a bit blurry, which makes me believe it must be using some basic bi-linear filtering or something like that. I was wondering if there was a way through code in one of the folder files to turn off the filtering or swap for nearest neighbor for sharper details. (a way to change the default window size would be appreciated too)

Version 0.25.2 is up on Steam.
CLAIRE'S QUEST VERSION SERIES 0.25.2 CHANGELOG

0.25.2

• The Rivermont route of the Prologue has now been finalized – failing to complete this route will cause the gameover event to trigger after the third day in Rivermont.

• New scene – the Fall of Rivermont (Claire PoV), part of the Main Questline if you go through the Rivermont route in the Prologue. This is a gameover scene that is automatically unlocked once you complete the Prologue (any route).

• Quest Journal has been updated with descriptions for all Rivermont sidequests.

• New major quest – “A Mother’s Pain” – part of the Main Questline if you did not go through the Rivermont route in the Prologue. Otherwise, this quest will be skipped

• New scene – the Nightmare – part of the new “A Mother’s Pain” quest. This is a gameover scene that is also unlockable in the Menagerie part of the Gallery

• New “Mother’s PoV” version of three scenes – Fall of Rivermont, Pigman Imprisonment, and Marie x Pigboss – all part of the “A Mother’s Pain” Main Quest. Not yet in Gallery.

• Lore change – the Noirwoods have been retconned out of the Five Families, replaced by the Twyne family (which will feature in the upcoming Sisters of Fertility quest, “Taming The Shrew”). Existing CG will be reskinned and reused later.

• Lore change – the events leading to the fall of Black Rock Pass as told by Lord Bertrand have been edited slightly to make more sequential sense since we are now going back to tell the Continent’s/Kingdom’s story.

• Lore change – Rathpike’s history and general Isles history as well as world history overview slightly altered to make more sense for how the Isles developed into their current states

• Large Gemstones from the Thieves Questline now working as intended with proper lockpicking blockers; Large Emerald back-added to the Lighthouse of Valos.

• Answering Lion’s initial queries in the start of the Mercenary Questline will now add attribute rewards.

• The bugged map leading out of the Rocks has been removed.

More like that the team is overwhelmed with the amount of work they are facing. They just keep letting the fans adding in new concepts that require a ground up rework to fit into the main storyline. For example, I don't know how the sisters of fertility and the meanageries part is suppose to play into the final conclusion of the game. But it sure needs alot of creative writing to fit in, and I am not surprised if the is still only the same number of writers in the dev group as it was at the start.

It's radically different from having a basic story line figured out and letting the fans choose from a preset selection.

One thing that the devs also seem to not realize is that we fans also want a definitive end to a game within a reasonable time frame. Not hanging for years on end.
