If the dev's claims on how long animation takes to make is true then the lesson I learned about making a game like this is: don't start now, wait for generative AI to be able to handle 2D animations and throw a bunch of procedurally generated art together with non-art parts handled normally. That'd be so much quicker.

Maybe the dev labor and wage claims are false but the advent and growth of AI art could make this problem and complaint a relic of the past at some point in the future.

On Kemono.party you can look up cloud meadow and scroll through their patreon updates. The first page goes all the way back to May and in that time they've not posted a single story update.
Maybe they think this is a dungeon-diving game now? (Anyone else fucking despise the slow turn-based combat?)
