AFAIR the creator was the one begging the other guy who took all the art to sell it to him so he could keep developing the game. Am I wrong?

nah the creator of cloud meadows is the artist who effectively killed Breeding season with his BS rights in his contract. now the lead Dev on Breeding season was a effing idiot to give an artist ownership to the rights of all art assets for the game but yeah.
breeding seasons failed on multiple fronts mostly due to poor management but Purple taking all the art assets hostage and preventing further development was pretty much the killing blow to the project as it would of set it back several more years.
oh and he did it as he was announcing this game so there are some who will refuse to play it.
Aaaw man that's a twat thing to do, you fuck up a game that was great and launch your own with the sabotaged art? damn son that's cold...

well from my understanding Purple was tired of the constant delays due to constant mismanagement by the lead dev of breeding season, if there was a bottle neck it was that lazy bastard who would do just enough to justify a monthly patreon donation and not much more. seriously if you have time to stream what you're watching or the video games you're playing then that just tells me you really don't have your heart in the project. apparently a bunch of his staff wanted to stab knives into his back.
so there is plenty of blame to go around for everyone. that being said it's not impossible for breeding season to make a come back by one of the two it's just not likely, and Cloud Meadows while it's breeding season like just doesn't quite compare. best way I could put it Breeding season is an adult take on Monster Rancher, and Cloud Meadow is kind of like an adultish version of Harvest Moon meets Monster Rancher. Cloud Meadows just kind of seems to be trying to copy the harvest moon/star dew valley feel a lot more which I mean is fine but then it tacked on a bunch of other bits which I'm kind of Mixed on.

well, that took more digging than i thought it would but thankfully someone went and archived the relevant blog post as it can no longer be viewed on the blog itself.
edit: that's why i don't want anything to do with this game. sure, the creator of breeding system wasn't good at management but what S-Purple did was far worse.

That archived blog post is one sided actually, I bothered searching time ago about all that, the project was dying, people where talking about leaving, delays everywhere, HBomb was doing nothing but crying like a baby and streaming videogames for months, there was work with the art, animation and stuff, but there was no work with programming, because guess what, HBomb was pretty much the only programmer and he didn't wanted to pay someone else so they could go foward with the project, he was bathing himself in Patreon money doing literally nothing disappearing for weeks, people where about to leave, the project was a dying mess on the ground wishing for a mercy kill, if you don't like S-Purple because what HBomb said, please don't or at least not before listening the other half of the story, which isn't hard to find.
Here's a link that you might find useful, I don't think an archived blog post written by HBomb is impartial.

fair enough. i'll check out this article then give my opinion...
edit: yeah...that whole situation was a lot worse than i had heard/read about it before. guess i'll take back what i said about not playing this game as, judging by that article, it looks like the whole situation was a big unpleasant mess.
You're gonna have to be more specific than that? What is not working? Can you not open the game? Is a code not working? Can you not download the game?
