I do agree about the artifact being alien in nature.

Now about the vacine, they are prototypes. They stopped the advance of the virus(?) but repeated contacts with infected seems to result in the person becoming a carrier. Remember that Ava infected the women in that school bulding who raped her. That is very likely why she was detected as infected by those "Umbrella soldiers" while Sarah wasn't yet.

Resident Evil kept releasing sequels even to this day; besides The 3rd Birthday on PSP, Parasite Eve stayed in the 90s, so PE, at least for me, feels more old school rather than RE.

well that is true to many games make to many sequels that they end up getting reather boring after a time. heck i steel have two mybe three old nintindos lol. burger time sky captian some of those old games too. but then graphics and story's have come along way look at sarah by the way i like her she is hot and strong to boot lol.
