I agree with both of you: developing this story requires planning and good writing, but it's also true that you can't get most people hooked if they've already forgotten your game by the time you release an update. I think the dev should aim for a 3-month cycle, give or take.
The story is doing great.

This....was incredible. I loved every minute of this. That damn overview basically shoots this game in the foot because it does it no justice whatsoever. I was really enjoying it most of the way through. Elsa is incredibly written. No dialogue is wasted with her and she's so effortlessly compelling.
The dialogue, for the most part, is natural sounding, which I love in games. It was kinda iffy at the beginning with Edward's best friend, because I'm really not fond of this thing in games where it's like all the MC and his best friend can talk about is pussy this, tits that and Tommy's "girls love cocks" soliloquy in the bathroom was a complete "no". But it picked up, particularly any time we focused on Elsa.
Edward took some time getting used to. An underdog story is always welcomed, but he does look a bit ridiculous, lol. I just don't like the model used. The same model is used for the MC in Pandora's Box and I fuckin hate that guy, so it's sort of hard to separate the two, though Edward is exceptionally better written. His obsession with Alice (though she is amazing) is kinda weird for me, so it's hard to step into his shoes. Though, I suppose this would be somewhat of a realistic take on a shut-in who has lost his ability to truly communicate confidently with women, so he would idolize one despite knowing nothing about her. I've been guilty of that, I won't lie, though not to this extent. For me, it was an act of kindness I would tend to idolize. With Edward, it just seems to be based on looks. That's my assumption at least. But I do love Alice and I definitely want to see more of her.
Where the story really took off for me was the entirety of that flashback sequence and the Elsa scene in general. Artistically, it was nothing short of brilliant to me. That's all I'll say about that. Extremely insightful and introspective, and I love that about MCs.
Character depth, motivation, choices, it's all there. This really needs more attention. I can't wait to play more.

It is strange. I find Elsa sexy AF. But for some reason I only have platonic feelings towards her. Also there is something to Elsa. I keep feeling like she is hiding some deep secret.
I would like to see a lot more of Fleur too, wow that is one sexy woman in every way. And I am hoping we will get to turn Emma into our own little personal whore.

I was looking for a really interesting office/corporate story and damn, this delivered it. I was surprised with a genuine, realistic plot. I appreciate a good premise of a story and an interesting MC in a game. His situation was realistic and different from the usual average games.
Onto the game itself. Quality is supreme, attention to the detail for each render is noticeable. It is obvious that the amount of work for each render was much more than the average games. Everything looked amazing. Characters are the same case. Every female model was attractive in their own regard, nice collection.
Next to the dialogues, I really liked them. The writing of both the story and each dialogue felt natural. Each dialogue felt unique because of main characters have certain characteristics and dialogue shows them nicely. Conversations with the Elsa and MC's Ego especially were on a whole new level. I loved the interactions between them. And the comedy, oh it was gold. Certain jokes and situations made me laugh a lot constantly whole playthrough. How MC and his Ego interacted was really fun.
Few things that did bat my eye are the 2-3 typos I saw in the earlier parts of the game. Not that worrying as I saw people claiming to be, I guess update fixed most of it. Overall I was content with the level of English and the grammar of it, not that many major errors that could disrupt the enjoyment. Secondly, I saw a lot of similar assets are being used both for the environment props and character models itself. They were noticeable but I guess it is the situation in this industry, a lot of assets get reused often. At least models were changed to a degree so it did not bother me. And that guy saying you "stole" them was outright dumb.
Overall I loved this game, plot was interesting and most of the characters are fantastic. I don't mind a slow burn game if the story itself is worth to listen. There are too many glorified porn-slider VN's in here as it is, I'm glad this one in particular, wasn't the case.

I had one other topic that I wanted to talk about but attachments weren't working back then, so here it goes.
sqwl, I read your remarks about having a "spoiler phobia" and I understand you don't want to tell/show too much, but I would give a few humble suggestions about it. I tried to recommend this game to a few people but most turned me down saying they didn't like what they saw from the summary/previews.
The game synopsis is direly lacking, most people who read that and they just get bummed, skipping the game without a chance. I know you don't want to spoil much but a better synopsis with maybe a spoilered section that tells more details can work. Most devs use two synopses with one having more spoilers and detailed structure. You can talk about the 0.2 version for example which transforms the game onto another level in my opinion. You might talk about how MC's future is brighter than at the start and the player can choose the way how MC's character evolves later, similar things like that.
Secondly, I'm not big on tags but, there are few tags that can be added like revenge, humor, office setting, etc.. Humor especially is needed because this game made me laugh a lot and it is one of the great aspects of this game.
Third, most people like a custom name for the MC, If we can set our surname, why not the first name too? I'm guessing it is because of the "Eddie" nickname or something but you can give an option for setting a custom nickname too. Most games do that and it will help, people really like setting their own name, me included.
And the preview shots, your game is beautiful but previews are clearly lacking showcasing them. You could put much better preview renders to raise curiosity for the game. Again I understand you don't want to spoil much but it is a worthy sacrifice to bring more support to your game, personally I would love for this game to grow in both audience-wise and gets the support it deserves.

I wanted the synopsis to be honest and not to build any expectation for the game, and then let the game to surprise you or to disappoint. That didn't work well for game promotion, I presume. But yet as I see this, it gives more freedom to interpret the game and events. I certainly don't want to give a clear direction where the game is moving, though it's probably obvious for a lot of people here. Right now, I don't have any ideas about how to rewrite it to make it more appealing, I'll give it a thought. Thanks for suggestions.
Yes, I saw all those messages about the name change. I clearly didn't expect that it would be important for so many people. There are several reasons why I chose to use a predefined name.
One of those reasons is that predefined name gives me a bit more space in narration, allows to show characters relationships through it too, etc. Also, there's something I wanted to implement in the late game that requires a predefined name.
About custom nickname. It's discussable, but it would be strange if MC name is Edward, yet he has a nickname John or something. It would force me to use the nickname everywhere, otherwise, it would be very weird.
Previews were made when the game was 0.1. There were 4 or 5 renders with her and I didn't like them very much. Besides I thought that it would be nice not to show everything in previews and let players discover it on their own, but...
I got it. I'll update them during the next update.
Also thank you and everyone for promoting game one or other way. Signatures, recommendations, spamming your boss with game links, everything helps. And thanks a lot to Shepp4rd and Raminita for making signatures.
That's probably the biggest spoiler of the game.I'd love to see that the spoiler part applies to that statement, too.
Interesting story, great renders, dialogs are good. But i just don't feel this ego/devil talking and yapping about fuck and shit. Overall, great game

It's in "archive.rpa", you need to extract it from there using something like "RPA Extract" or similar.

Surprising lots of content. The renders and girls are awesome but the text in hard to read in some scenes. I'm not a fan of not being able to change the MC's name hopefully we can change it in the future. Other then that good job
