I know people are complaining about the lack of sex scenes. But when you get as old as me and dipped into just about every fetish and type of porn you can imagine, the ease of it all means that random sex scenes up front are just boring. Much prefer build up and elaborate flirting instead.

For example that scene between Edward and Fleur near the end of this release was probably hotter than 90% of the sex scenes I've seen in all the AVNs on this board. People grossly underestimate how much the chase is better than the catch sometimes. Though I'm extremely perplexed because I thought Zoe liked Edward, and Fleur is just being friendly. The way she went off with Matt leaving him alone with Fleur gave me a bit of whiplash.

I'm still holding up hope that this protagonist can be saved and that he's slowly learning the skills he needs to will himself to power and have a good quality woman on his arm as well. It just may not be alice. It could be Elsa, Fleur, Zoe... even Vicky... all really good choices. Anyone of them better than his neighbor.

1.7 million views and just around 90 Patreons. There're ways to promote AVN. You underestimate the bubble outside.

Ah, that's why devs like DarkCookie, DrStinkCheese, SFS, etc. have only a hand full Patreons. Didn't thought of that. Thank you for helping me see things more clearly.
It doesn't take much thought to understand that the market for these games is crowded and anyone making a game will be competing against other games. If you only update once a year then that is on you and not the potential patrons.

A surprising number of purist fetishists around here enjoy dire, dumb, incomprehensionable, dumpsterfire, ridiculous stories where their protagonist is purposefully stomped on constantly - they call it art+drama+good story - they enjoy their 5 o'clock murder and rape and gore news too much in their games.
Wanted to reply to this directly.

The protagonist is disturbed in a number of ways and thrashing about trying to better himself while fighting against his own ego and arrogance.

In the previous chapters the protagonist's efforts were mostly turned inward. It was about how to become formidable, effective and self confident. Now that he sorted out his own garden he needs to learn how to play nice with others and work as a team. He also needs to learn that nobody reached the top alone through their solo effort, they had help.

The overarching theme here is the protagonist has to build an army with himself as the focal point. He needs allies and he needs to manage conflict correctly across a wide array of disparate personalities. He also need to understand there is quid pro quo and that he is rising to the top and can take a bunch of "his people" with him. Those could be Charles, Fleur, Zoe, Vicky etc. And I suspect even his current employees may be a part of that once everyone gets their come to jesus moment.

This story is British as fuck and I can see lots of elements of an old 2006 movie I enjoyed, it's called "Cashback"

Here's the trailer. You guys tell me if you can spot the similarities. The protagonists seem similar to me.
In summary the story of that movie is the protagonist gets dumped and develops a bad case of insomnia where he can't sleep at all. Rather than dying he gains the ability to control time and goes through some ruminating depression trying to piece his life back together again.

Oh, I see, it's all very deep, philosophical, and sophisticated ;)

Build up can be successfully executed in ten minutes, happens in movies and even books. Even happens in a couple porno games. The crucial factor is quality not quantity of writing. So random sex or build up is a false dichotomy. One can be into edging/denial without conflating it with hunger for great literature... c'mon maine.

I'm replaying this after like a year and the writing if anything got worse. Dude takes 20 lines of dialogue to make a simple - and in this case often irrelevant and out-of-the-blue - point, then gets 20 more lines of inner monologue thinking about said point. Every character talks like a reddit post. Reading a novel you expect a sense of organic flow in conversations somewhat resembling real life, that's like a baseline standard for good writing. When people change subjects you assume a continuity of tone and mood. Even dramatic tension or escalation needs to pay off something that was set up earlier in the plot. Here everyone drifts into each others orbit, says one relevant thing and a lot of pseudo edgy/smart bullshit then drifts away. The PC talks like a fake chad then gets walked all over in the very next scene, with the only continuity or payoff being his inner monologues that are even more inconsistent than the dialogue. His personality can be summed up as I spend a lot of time thinking in circles about myself, therefore I am special. If that's "build up" I'd much rather be homeless in LA. It's a Pynchonesque nightmare but the post-structural subversion has been replaced by the hero's journey.

A very long wait for this update and something feels different. For the first time since playing this game I started fast clicking through text, and ultimately hitting the control key - not a good sign. The only thing that held my interest was the interaction with Fleur. Most of the dialogue felt pointless... am I the only one feeling this?

I heard it's getting windy there, so you better bring a coat, bro.
Whoa... so you mean to say I'm not going to randomly run into Enron's CEO's daughter who would sense greatness in me and secretly decide it is my hand that shall take her plight when the time comes, and shortly thereafter given an opportunity to manage a team at their hq... while being life-coached by the CEO daughter's hot blond friendfu who's also down?

Hi,

Do you know if it is possible somehow to remove the quick menu from the GUI?

Man, I really wish you could... But I don't see the way how you'll survive this build up.
This nasty dev made a helter-skelter of writing, overcomplexified everythings for no reason. Talking ego, Elsa, who only makes fun of MC and criticizes, but hasn't even shown a tit once, poor man chasing the princess, all this bullshit. He should have stuck to the classic, time-tested build up: "Hey, step-brother, I'm stuck in the washing machine, can you help me?"

Just out of innocent curiosity, why not quit this game and forget it ever existed? What do you expect to find at the end of a fast forward?
What I mean, you obtuse forum troll, is that I can skip the majority of the dialogue and not miss any of the plot, therefore the key gets a workout. I won't respond to you anymore as it looks like you're just trying to be aggressive and start arguments.
