*13 september 2023 note: Suntorn Dawn does not work with the latest version ( 45e ). It is expected start working again in version 46. If you imported any suntorn dawn characters, you can either wait for the new release, or delete all custom characters before starting a new campaign (inside the program, not delete any files).

I want to thank CSdev for the great game, and I want to thank Ragsmu for giving the ideas that led to Vendetta and Silver as a character, and Clutch's hairstyle.

In order to use these new girls, start a new campaign and then "import roster" to the "suntorn dawn.ros" file to load all 27 girls into the game. Make sure the folders are in the portraits directory.

If anyone has any questions or comments, I'd be happy to hear it.

Art question based on my own experience just messing around with one of the free generators online, how do you keep the images consistent so that they appear to have the same character or do you? I have yet to download anything.

One method is to use a generator with an Image to Image functionality. I stable diffusion webui has that but 1 it's offline and you need at least 20GB of RAM to make it work and 2 not every versions of it have the ability to create NSFW art and you might have to add additional files to it if you to want make piture of naked women. Though to be fair, if you want to make a pack for CS, you don't need any NSFW pictures.
I think SD 1.5 was the last version that was able to create NSFW art without add-ons

Alright, the save in question is the Loop 5 Toyama - Day 9 versus Calamity, Mayhem, and Dash, easiest way to replicate it is to just start with the loaded setup (Cheer + INJU artillery item) on Mayhem. Capture in the first turn, Dash will arrive during the last turn of Mayhem's capture and brick the continue button. Can also start with Calamity and then capture Mayhem as soon as initial capture finishes, which is how I discovered this bug, but it's slightly more complex.
I’m going over to send a message over to CSDev on subscribestar about some things so I’ll be sure to mention this, thank you for uploading the save!

All the girls are looking great!!

I’m really liking the look of dragonfly and neutron especially, I plan on downloading them and making a new save to play against all of them. Also looking forward to seeing the backstories of them. Congratulations on the release! :D

Looks like the devsite (blogspot/blogger) now requires an account to access...
(I imagine for some, this is a death sentence... for use of that site I mean, since not requiring registration was one thing it had over alternatives)
Something wrong with Subscribestar?
Currently, I think the only featuers that can be found on the blogspot but not the SubscribeStar are the links to the portrait packs and the ability to comment without being a subscriber. I imagine that there's some sort of way to add a sidebar with links to the SubscribeStar (even if I can't find it at the moment), but it looks like there isn't any way to let non-subscribers comment on your SubscribeStar. So, I might end up moving the blog to a different site.
CSdev Uploading my save for the two bugs (animalistic warbeast - four surrounded actions not going through, and softlock on second chosen Release). Creating demon commander and recreating Forsaken didn't fix the issue. Using custom portraits so portraits won't show. No worries if this is save file corruption due to version - was going to start a new campaign anyway.

Actions to replicate:
Four surrounded actions - Load game 181615, next battle (commander Hymn), battle - shield, capture, do nothing, do nothing, release, surround. Then, if you try to grind/pummel/carress/humiliate Shield, it won't end the round but all pressed actions will happen next round.

Release softlock - Load game 181615, next battle (commander Hymn), battle - shield, capture, do nothing, do nothing, release, surround, capture Sky, release Sky.
Alright, the save in question is the Loop 5 Toyama - Day 9 versus Calamity, Mayhem, and Dash, easiest way to replicate it is to just start with the loaded setup (Cheer + INJU artillery item) on Mayhem. These seem to be related to the same coding error. I'm sorry for not catching it before the release. Next release should fix it, and you should be able to continue with your current save.
I suppose you meant Negotiation?

(this is from the )

Also, for anyone who didn't read the report: "retry fight" button confirmed
Currently, Rampancy and Aversion Forsaken can't be virgins, while Temptation and Negotiation Chosen must be virgins. It'll require some extra writing to put in alternative Morality Break types (which means that it won't be implemented in the coming update), but now it'll at least be possible for me to work on toggles that decouple virginity status from Distortion type.
Stuck in a softlock loop with a vignette: (R38C)

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Pressing continue just repeats as above.
Looks like this bug is related to the portrait system. I'll make sure that it's fixed by the next release.
On a seperate note, why isn't there an optional research that allows specialised commanders to order a surround (in essence: having choice to do a normal surround or a specialised surround if the commander is free)? Specialised commanders are such a niche, with forsaken being generally cheaper if trained well and normal commanders being much easier to manage and plan.
This is an interesting idea. It might be a good feature for later campaign loops in order to keep specialized commanders competitive.

Very nice! I particularly like the way that you gave them each an overall theme, then put a sinister twist on that theme for the Forsaken versions. Several of these characters might be able to get some actual game-mechanical backing to their powers once the other species (robot, elemental, angel, devil) are implemented.

This is also reminding me that I want to add a better way to ensure that pre-made teams stay together in campaign mode. It's very cool that players have found a way to make it more likely by creating a web of pre-existing relationships, but it probably shouldn't require that sort of thing.
More specifically, he(?) tends to come here around every update, which is about once a month, which would be... within the next week or two, I think.
I try to show up more often than that, but it really depends on how busy I end up being with the work on the next release. This one has been rough. February is a short month. I'm glad that I didn't try to make this one the boss fight update.

Thank you. When I saw there was an undead theme in a new release I hadn't played yet and didn't know how it functioned, I decided to do fewer of the zombie type forsaken.

As for the web of relationships... this was a such a big puzzle, lol. Took quite a long time. I think it's great that the game in general makes it quite easy to create stuff for it.

Also looking forward to seeing the backstories of them.
You can see a short vignette about each team in the .txt file included with the expansion. More to release soon.

Since I've had a proper first look at the undead due to the animalistic chosen breaking the fourth wall and slaughtering the continue button, I feel like they're significantly easier to deal with than their aforementioned animalistic counterparts. Their energy drain seems way too easy to work around, especially when relying on demon knights. I feel like switching the energy loss to start of buy phase (reducing the EE earned the previous day) similar to how Flexibility reduces it, but adding a condition that any vulnerability break prevents the drain (but not the increase) for the day would make it feel more impactful. If this makes it too strong, it could be changed to either slowing down the increase as well or preventing drain for X days, where X is the vulnerability tier that was broken.

I haven't faced any later loop teams with undeads since I'm waiting for the fixes next patch, but this change seems like it'd add some more strategy in the break timing of undead.

Question for CSdev:

When Forsaken developed through Rampancy are placed in a Punisher position, the stat buffs are listed as "+variable" or "-variable". I understand that for Punisher effects, the stronger effects are related to Disgrace, which normally has a relationship with EE cost and that this is not straightforward with Rampant Punishers.

So, how does this scale exactly? I've got three ways it might work in my head and I want to know what I'm getting.

1) Effect scales up to the Disgrace of the Rampant Punisher, but does not scale higher. i.e. Spending 203EE on a Rampant Punisher with a disgrace of 57% (cost 86EE) gets no benefit over spending 86EE, but spending lower EE amounts than this lowers the effect.

2) Effect scales fully up to the EE cost of the Rampant Punisher. i.e. Spending 203EE on a Rampant Punisher gets you Punisher effects that are every bit as good as one with a disgrace of 23%.

3) Effect scales by the same factor that power scales by. i.e. Spending 203EE on a Rampant Punisher with a disgrace of 57% gets you somewhat better punisher effects than spending 86EE would, but not as significant as one would get for using a similar Punisher with a disgrace of 23%.

Which is it?

What's the optimal tech progression for challenge runs and above? I'm passing a lot of days against superior chosen because I struggle to make a dent even with a 2x5 commander.

I am relatively sure that the answer is to rush Networked Consciousness, though I don't really do challenge runs and the items you get might make that answer quite different. By default, though, that's an extra turn doing damage every capture plus an extra turn doing damage once you're out of captures, and the cost is once-per-loop 20 EE instead of spending 2 per fight for the rest of the run. I usually try to get this before I get the 5-turn capture.

The most immediately useful upgrade along that path is probably Human Collaborators, so if you don't have that it's quite a good upgrade to your time per fight--like most of the fight duration upgrades, you can usually squeeze an extra surround from it.

I think I've missed it somewhere in the thread, but how do you assign custom portraits to a custom Chosen?

EDIT: Also, how do you import a whole team, and not just the first Chosen on the list? Sorry for all the newbie questions, slowpoke here just found out about the game :D

During game:
Info -> [chosen]'s profice -> change portrait and input the name of the folder with the portrait

During creation : just change he Chosen name to the name of the folder with the portrait

Ah, right then, thanks!

Sorry if I was unclear; what I meant was that when I try to import a new team, it only seems to import the first girl created when I set up the team.

Sorry if you already found the answer but for importing the whole team, you would need to encounter all three chosen first, then import them

So, uh, sorry, I already did :giggle: Turns out all I had to do was pass a few days and the other girls from the team would show up. Sorry for being an impatient ass, everyone!
