Thank you to everybody who's been helping to explain the game to new players. Also, I've been enjoying the Arknights character pack, though it's funny to think that Arknights has like 4 different kinds of dragon-girl while Corrupted Saviors doesn't really even have one.
Loaded the save up in R45e and it still got double turns, just fyi.
This should actually be fixed now in R46.
CSdev, if you're interested in adding something like this to the game and you'd like some help with what to explain, where to write the explanation, and how to explain it, let me know. I can create some basic Chosen in a Single Play loop, copy all text from the playthrough in a document, and add things to the document in a different font indicating what I think is good, solid, tutorial text--where to place it so that it does the most good, and where to add [Continue] breaks so new players don't just get a huge impenetrable wall of stuff they don't understand.
Just let me know if you would make use of something like that because it's a lot of work.
The commenting system has been broken for awhile, but now that people are showing some interest in making commented playthroughs, I suppose it's become a higher priority to get it working again. It'll be trickier to make it work now because of how many more sources of randomness there are (pre-generated family and such), but I
think I've seeded them all properly so that people can pass around e.g. a commented Day 1 campaign save and have it all turn out the same if you follow the instructions. Those instructions will need to account for stuff like "these two Chosen need to have a pregnancy together," though.
Known issue in 45e. The Regenerate action crashes the game when a chosen goes below 10K Expo with it. (I think? It also may be 1000 and 100, but 10K is the most prevalent in my experience.)
EDIT: Got another crash! When trying to use a chosen to parasitize Despair in the attached save with the elected forsaken, the game crashes. Despair is a stock chosen.
Attempting to parasitize War in this save, both using the forsaken currently in the publicist position and swapping in the available cheer causes a crash.
So, I've found a bug where all the action buttons disappear when I achieve a T4 dignity break after raising Parasitism effectiveness to 1000% in the same combat. I'm also breaking the other girls T4 dignities as well, and I've tried different combinations of actions which all lead to the same result. It could also have something to do with the Extermination reaching 100% on the same round as the break.
The crash here was caused by a problem with Chosen who fight without weapons getting their outfits updated for Total Dignity Break. Should all be fixed in R46.
I seem to have run into a glitch where, upon sending Despair rampant her name changes to ' lets her leather straps '.
Saves attached.
Of all the bugs I've had to deal with in this game, "girl renames herself after her underwear" has got to be the weirdest one.
I'm trying some stuff out on an old version, so this typo might already be fixed.
But since it's an odd distortion combo vignette, not many people might have seen/caught it before.

Thanks for the typo report. As you guessed, it hadn't been caught yet.
EDIT: Also, I think my "GOAL" is bugged because it's asking me to use the Sodomize action, and it never triggers on the character it's asking me to use it on despite reaching the correct amount of stat + surrounding the character.
It's also very annoying that the game doesn't explain what anything does before you click on it. Some have pop ups when you hover, ben when the game asks me to choose between "temptation" and "rampancy", I'm left there think: "Ah yes, two words I indeed understand !"
Or like "How would you like to act ? => Position", uh ?...
Adding tooltips to the Distortion plan screen is definitely a good idea, especially since newish players are directed there.
To be fair, the guide text file doesn't actually explain how to perform the T3 break, it only explains the trauma requirement and what the associated Adaptation ability does without explaining what conditions the Adaptation is used under. So for the Dignity T3 break it's not actually obvious that the Adaptation is only usable while not surrounded, especially considering all the T1 Adaptations require being surrounded to use.
Good point regarding the inconsistency with T1 and T2 breaks (not to mention that T3 Confidence also happens while surrounded). Trying to make the other T3 tips indicate that the Chosen
shouldn't be surrounded is a good idea, but I'm not sure how best to do so while remaining concise. Maybe it could be put in the green text of the guide goals.
It's great that rosters and suntorn dawn is working again in the new version. I'm working on editing each character to have appropriately clothes descriptions.

These parts don't seem editable in the new version. Maybe because I chose to make her barefoot?
Footwear can be edited where all other clothes are, if she wasn't suppose to have shoes then you should go in and make sure shoes weren't added in the clothing editor part of the cosmetic menu, if they haven't then make a pair of shoes and save the change then go back in and delete the shoes. Energy however is incapable of being edited, and while you weren't asking about it you can only half edit Weapon, as while you can designate a single item as Weapon when you make it, you cant tell the game how the weapon functions (melee/ranged/thrown/body part/etc) as far as I can tell.
Footwear displaying incorrectly should be fixed in R46b. Inability to customize energy and weapon type is just a coding error on my part - the relevant menu gets skipped, and I just didn't notice. I need to restructure some code to get that working again, so it hasn't been fixed yet as of R46b.

Typo in the custom sex scenes in the new update, "Exmaine".
Still less embarrassing than that one time I misspelled the title of the game in the file name.
I think I agree with this statement.
After reading the guide, I believe what this game needs is a proper tutorial in game with a concrete example of how to perform the breaks and how to progress overall.
I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to understand how all those mechanics interact with one-another without a step-by step explanation on how to play the game.
The GOAL system is a step in the right direction but ultimately not enough because it doesn't tell you what are the requirements for getting the effects it wants you to trigger.
It honestly made me think about when I wanted to learn how to play Jack-o-Ninetails. A huge pain in the butt to comprehend the basic mechanics, which was made even more frustrating by the fact that the game didn't need to be this obtuse to begin with because the systems are complex enough to be a challenge on their own.
In both cases the fantasy being sold is excellent with great situations but burried under a confusing and opaque learning curve.
But at least when I was trying to learn Jack-o-Ninetails I could feel when I was on the right track.
Here I could be doing the "correct" thing and still feel like no progress is being made somehow, that's very weird. And since I'm not 100% confident I'm indeed doing the right thing, I start questioning myself and wondering why nothing is changing.
And reading the reviews for this game, I feel validated in this opinion because many of the 4-5 star ratings also point out all those issues as massive pains in the butt to deal with.
But... when it works, it's fantastic, and that I also agree on. There were some very special moments that happened in my short period playing it (3-4h)
I'll keep trying, but I'm losing hope.
The sad part is, making a tutorial would actually be pretty easy, the game itself already has the commentary system, so all they need to do to make a tutorial is to make a built in save-file tied to a tutorial button which is an entire game done with the commentary system active explaining all mechanics as they come up and stuff. Admittedly I've never used the commentary system so maybe it'd be a bit harder than I'd think, but the system for it is in place so all it is is a matter of the dev just playing through a single play game. Hell, I think a while back someone in this thread actually did do this themselves, it's just that the save is super outdated and no longer works.
And yeah, it really sucks that the game isn't always super clear whether you're doing the right or wrong thing, which is especially prevalent when dealing with T3 and T4 breaks. Because T3 and T4 breaks cant be done in a single battle, it's really not obvious whether or not you're building up trauma/punisher effectiveness at a good rate unless you end up having an amazing battle and immediately dealing enough trauma to T3 break all four vulnerabilities at once (then cry when you realize it was on a Chosen you were trying to distort but aren't in a position to distort right away forcing you to reload a save) or something.
If you're curious, a tutorial of that type was part of the game from Release 2 to Release 29. But I got a lot of feedback saying that just tutorializing the combat mechanics themselves was misleading, because so much of the game revolves around what happens outside of battle. You can check out the last functional version of the tutorial
here if you like.
