So i'm guessing from what you're saying here that part of the reason i've started to find the game is easier is because i've removed pure paragon types (usually high morality high innocence) as well those have breaks built in. It also seems like I spread the damage too much I read somewhere HATE was a go to iNJU vul chosen is this still the case?
If by Pure Paragon type you mean someone with 100 in a vulnerability, then yes removing those would make the game easier as with 100 in a vulnerability they'd take no base damage to that vulnerability's circumstance damage (only taking the bonus damage from ANGST), the opposite is also true, someone with 0 in a vulnerability would take no base damage in the associated trauma. Removing Chosen with pre-broken vulnerabilities also helps a little.

As for spreading damage, it is actually better to spread damage as they all provide damage boosting modifiers, and it is ideal to get both HATE and INJU leveled. It's just that a Chosen specifically weak to INJU damage is good to target early on as INJU damage has a bigger modifier than HATE but reserved for circumstances, which is better early as T1 and T2 breaks depend on circumstance damage and not trauma damage. HATE however is generally better than INJU in the mid to late game as HATE applies to all damage which lets you build up more Openings while still boosting circumstance leveling, but they're both very good to level still.

I've considered doing this multiple times, but I'm personally of the opinion that it needs more than this actually. This game could be made a lot more accessible with a "real" tutorial that interrupts game text to point out what is actually important on the screen for the game state.

You just bought Psychic Reading? When you click that Info button, something should break the normal flow of the game to explain the parts you're seeing now.

A Chosen came in with pre-broken Mor T2? Draw attention to the moves that they're doing and how they're different from the other Chosen.

A Distortion Plan? What's that, and why should the player care?

You got some Forsaken now? Great, let's start clicking training buttons and figure out which buttons are good to click. What does it mean to "train a Forsaken"?

In the end, this is a beta, so it's not going to appeal to everyone. I can understand the appeal of not making a tutorial-based fixed campaign while game features are still very much being added.
That's fair, a tutorial Single Play tutorial game would need to be basically re-made every time there is a gameplay focused update.

Honestly all of that sounds like it could be done with a youtube video, no need for custom coding.
The thing there is, a video would need to be remade with new updates, while setting up the code to do what they said is a one time set up that can then be easily modified with each update.

Everything from the existing comment system to chosen clothes has broken with updates; there's no "one time" feature in a game that is still having its core code developed. Also, "easily" and "modified with each update" don't belong next to each other in a sentence. The more plates you have to keep in the air every time you make a change the slower you can make them.

Additionally, videos don't have to be identical in every way to the current version at any point in time. They just have to be close enough to answer questions people might have after reading the documentation and looking at the game themselves. They're definitely the lower maintenance option.

When I said modified I meant modify the information itself, not the code.

Ah rip then, to be fair though it doesn't actually matter since as annoying as it is to see her being listed as wearing shoes when she doesn't actually, I don't think that list of information is actually used anywhere aside from when editing the Chosen. During a battle the game likely draws from the actual outfit editor information in that screenshot, and not that little summary which just lists chest, crotch, underwear and footwear. So since she doesn't have shoes listed in the outfit editor it'd likely recognize her as barefoot, especially since the auto-generated transformation description explicitly says she's barefoot.

I would say just start a game with cheats and do a surround increasing her EXPO levels to see if shoes are ever mentioned, but unfortunately as far as I'm aware there is no way to force a certain Chosen into a loop and constantly restarting a game to try to get her to spawn would take forever.
While not necessarily forcing a specific chosen to appear, you can significantly increase the chances by only importing the test chosen into the pool for the campain to pull from as the game prioritizes making imported chosen appear first before auto generating complementary chosen. I know this from numerous game starts (not full playthroughs), and only found a rando chosen once, and it was in the second loop of a game I actually continued on.

Yeah, I haven't bothered going for Risk 18 on CC 12 yet, smashing my head into that brick wall doesn't seem like a fun way to spend my day right now.
It was definitely a brick wall... which is typically as high as I push.

Well I more so meant a good rate to build up the effectiveness per day. For example early on I thought Drain effectiveness was just suppose to build up super slow, not cause I didn't know detonate only happened when captured by a Commander, but because I just didn't realize that the Drain gain increase from INJU levels is significantly more than the other T4s with their circumstances, making it far more efficient to use all 3 commander captures on one Chosen instead of one for all three.
Yeah, thats valid. If I do go do the tutorial thing at some point, will need to sit down and experiment to figure out the ideal conditions for that stuff. I knew about the drain one, not sure on the other ones yet.

Yeah same, I just don't have the brain for anything beyond R18.

To be fair, the other ones don't really matter because they'll just use them so long as they aren't surrounded and another Chosen is surrounded (well aside from Fantasize, I think that's just used whenever). So for those it's just a matter of cycling surrounds one Chosen at a time to buy as much time as possible for them to use the adaptations.

OK so, snag on the tutorial side of things. It appears the comment system is kinda ...broken...

I can play normally, but if I load into a game with comments, it breaks. Taking any action immediately locks up and I have to quit to do anything else in game. If I use "Do Nothing" all the way up to the end of battle, hitting continue breaks it the same way. Dropped the save file below, if anyone wants to import it and attempt it on your end to see if it will do the same for you. Note: Its not actually anything even remotely close to a tutorial, its just me fucking with the comment system to figure out how it works.

That's not a bug tied to the comment system, that's just a bug present in the game in general. Cause I just imported the save and I was able to get through the battle with no issue.

Thank you to everybody who's been helping to explain the game to new players. Also, I've been enjoying the Arknights character pack, though it's funny to think that Arknights has like 4 different kinds of dragon-girl while Corrupted Saviors doesn't really even have one.
Loaded the save up in R45e and it still got double turns, just fyi.
This should actually be fixed now in R46.
CSdev, if you're interested in adding something like this to the game and you'd like some help with what to explain, where to write the explanation, and how to explain it, let me know. I can create some basic Chosen in a Single Play loop, copy all text from the playthrough in a document, and add things to the document in a different font indicating what I think is good, solid, tutorial text--where to place it so that it does the most good, and where to add [Continue] breaks so new players don't just get a huge impenetrable wall of stuff they don't understand.

Just let me know if you would make use of something like that because it's a lot of work.
The commenting system has been broken for awhile, but now that people are showing some interest in making commented playthroughs, I suppose it's become a higher priority to get it working again. It'll be trickier to make it work now because of how many more sources of randomness there are (pre-generated family and such), but I think I've seeded them all properly so that people can pass around e.g. a commented Day 1 campaign save and have it all turn out the same if you follow the instructions. Those instructions will need to account for stuff like "these two Chosen need to have a pregnancy together," though.
Known issue in 45e. The Regenerate action crashes the game when a chosen goes below 10K Expo with it. (I think? It also may be 1000 and 100, but 10K is the most prevalent in my experience.)

EDIT: Got another crash! When trying to use a chosen to parasitize Despair in the attached save with the elected forsaken, the game crashes. Despair is a stock chosen.
Attempting to parasitize War in this save, both using the forsaken currently in the publicist position and swapping in the available cheer causes a crash.
So, I've found a bug where all the action buttons disappear when I achieve a T4 dignity break after raising Parasitism effectiveness to 1000% in the same combat. I'm also breaking the other girls T4 dignities as well, and I've tried different combinations of actions which all lead to the same result. It could also have something to do with the Extermination reaching 100% on the same round as the break.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The crash here was caused by a problem with Chosen who fight without weapons getting their outfits updated for Total Dignity Break. Should all be fixed in R46.
I seem to have run into a glitch where, upon sending Despair rampant her name changes to ' lets her leather straps '.
Saves attached.
Of all the bugs I've had to deal with in this game, "girl renames herself after her underwear" has got to be the weirdest one.
I'm trying some stuff out on an old version, so this typo might already be fixed.

But since it's an odd distortion combo vignette, not many people might have seen/caught it before.

View attachment 2947154
Thanks for the typo report. As you guessed, it hadn't been caught yet.
EDIT: Also, I think my "GOAL" is bugged because it's asking me to use the Sodomize action, and it never triggers on the character it's asking me to use it on despite reaching the correct amount of stat + surrounding the character.
It's also very annoying that the game doesn't explain what anything does before you click on it. Some have pop ups when you hover, ben when the game asks me to choose between "temptation" and "rampancy", I'm left there think: "Ah yes, two words I indeed understand !"
Or like "How would you like to act ? => Position", uh ?...
Adding tooltips to the Distortion plan screen is definitely a good idea, especially since newish players are directed there.
To be fair, the guide text file doesn't actually explain how to perform the T3 break, it only explains the trauma requirement and what the associated Adaptation ability does without explaining what conditions the Adaptation is used under. So for the Dignity T3 break it's not actually obvious that the Adaptation is only usable while not surrounded, especially considering all the T1 Adaptations require being surrounded to use.
Good point regarding the inconsistency with T1 and T2 breaks (not to mention that T3 Confidence also happens while surrounded). Trying to make the other T3 tips indicate that the Chosen shouldn't be surrounded is a good idea, but I'm not sure how best to do so while remaining concise. Maybe it could be put in the green text of the guide goals.
It's great that rosters and suntorn dawn is working again in the new version. I'm working on editing each character to have appropriately clothes descriptions.

View attachment 2970646
These parts don't seem editable in the new version. Maybe because I chose to make her barefoot?
Footwear can be edited where all other clothes are, if she wasn't suppose to have shoes then you should go in and make sure shoes weren't added in the clothing editor part of the cosmetic menu, if they haven't then make a pair of shoes and save the change then go back in and delete the shoes. Energy however is incapable of being edited, and while you weren't asking about it you can only half edit Weapon, as while you can designate a single item as Weapon when you make it, you cant tell the game how the weapon functions (melee/ranged/thrown/body part/etc) as far as I can tell.
Footwear displaying incorrectly should be fixed in R46b. Inability to customize energy and weapon type is just a coding error on my part - the relevant menu gets skipped, and I just didn't notice. I need to restructure some code to get that working again, so it hasn't been fixed yet as of R46b.

Typo in the custom sex scenes in the new update, "Exmaine".
Still less embarrassing than that one time I misspelled the title of the game in the file name.
I think I agree with this statement.
After reading the guide, I believe what this game needs is a proper tutorial in game with a concrete example of how to perform the breaks and how to progress overall.
I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to understand how all those mechanics interact with one-another without a step-by step explanation on how to play the game.
The GOAL system is a step in the right direction but ultimately not enough because it doesn't tell you what are the requirements for getting the effects it wants you to trigger.

It honestly made me think about when I wanted to learn how to play Jack-o-Ninetails. A huge pain in the butt to comprehend the basic mechanics, which was made even more frustrating by the fact that the game didn't need to be this obtuse to begin with because the systems are complex enough to be a challenge on their own.

In both cases the fantasy being sold is excellent with great situations but burried under a confusing and opaque learning curve.
But at least when I was trying to learn Jack-o-Ninetails I could feel when I was on the right track.
Here I could be doing the "correct" thing and still feel like no progress is being made somehow, that's very weird. And since I'm not 100% confident I'm indeed doing the right thing, I start questioning myself and wondering why nothing is changing.

And reading the reviews for this game, I feel validated in this opinion because many of the 4-5 star ratings also point out all those issues as massive pains in the butt to deal with.

But... when it works, it's fantastic, and that I also agree on. There were some very special moments that happened in my short period playing it (3-4h)
I'll keep trying, but I'm losing hope.
The sad part is, making a tutorial would actually be pretty easy, the game itself already has the commentary system, so all they need to do to make a tutorial is to make a built in save-file tied to a tutorial button which is an entire game done with the commentary system active explaining all mechanics as they come up and stuff. Admittedly I've never used the commentary system so maybe it'd be a bit harder than I'd think, but the system for it is in place so all it is is a matter of the dev just playing through a single play game. Hell, I think a while back someone in this thread actually did do this themselves, it's just that the save is super outdated and no longer works.

And yeah, it really sucks that the game isn't always super clear whether you're doing the right or wrong thing, which is especially prevalent when dealing with T3 and T4 breaks. Because T3 and T4 breaks cant be done in a single battle, it's really not obvious whether or not you're building up trauma/punisher effectiveness at a good rate unless you end up having an amazing battle and immediately dealing enough trauma to T3 break all four vulnerabilities at once (then cry when you realize it was on a Chosen you were trying to distort but aren't in a position to distort right away forcing you to reload a save) or something.
If you're curious, a tutorial of that type was part of the game from Release 2 to Release 29. But I got a lot of feedback saying that just tutorializing the combat mechanics themselves was misleading, because so much of the game revolves around what happens outside of battle. You can check out the last functional version of the tutorial here if you like.

Also, as a fun aside, are some Victory animations made using . These ones are also rigged for VTuber-style face recognition using .

Is there any plan on adding more animal traits to chosen? Like dragon, fish, shark, etc? Also, haven't run into any problem with chosen meeting other chosen (though I only did it like 2 times)

I still have 0 idea how to properly play this game. It seems pretty neat, too bad I suck ass at it
If you need some help refer to these two posts I've written on how to get started and understanding some mechanics. If you need more help feel free to ask, as while some people might get a little sassy and just say to check back in the thread, most of us are happy to write up answers or link to other posts that have explained the topic.

I think I've tried once or twice and didn't feel like reading long guides to figure out how to play a game when my goal was just to... well, you know. So I'm curious... is the content here worth it? How much of the sexy stuff is there?

Im making a custom team, and Im at the difficulty modifier, and what exactly is "combined weight of items"? It maxes at 841. Is it how many items you get, or just the power of items from a scale from 0-841?

It's a good game with hot situations but if you don't want the work of playing and understanding it a VN or just a video is probably a better choice. A significant part of the attraction is that there's actual challenge you can engage with and eventually master.

It's at least as much game as it is smut.

The writing is pretty good, but I have doubts if the challenge feels like a hurdle instead of a compelling challenge whether it will be worth it. It goes much deeper into corruption themes than the typical game, where a typical h game might have corruption going from "she doesn't want sex" to "okay she wants more sex than is good for her now" and that's about it, this one delves thematically into some deeper corruption themes like "she's become hateful enough that she's willing to kill (semi)innocent people in an attempt to stop a demon (you) and as a result her sexual barrier has diminished to the degree that it's possible to penetrate and impregnate her". There's 4 dimensions that lead to different types of corruption and you can combine some or all. There's also certain distortions that deviate from this leading to further permutations. And then there's the fact that after you defeated the boss match and you think you completed the game, instead you realize you've just completed the tutorial and there's a lot going on beyond that first game.

Games with the possibility of corruption including parasitized clothes can be counted on on two hands.

Thing also go differently depending on some of the emergent results of the girls becoming friends or enemies to each other. Once you understand how it works you can mostly control which of these happens.

I'd say the best way to figure out if it's up to your speed or not is to try and reach a tier 2 break. If you've read 2-3 turns of a tier 2 break surround, you'll know for sure if it's your thing or not. The 4 tier 2 breaks being: Inseminate, Force Orgasm, ..., Broadcast

The way to get to tier 2 breaks is making sure each girl gives off evil energy after each fight and then getting a 5-8 cost commander (harder with a 5). With that commander and maybe one or two tips if you can't make it work, you'll be able to setup a 3+ turn surround where you can do these purple tier 2 breaks and then you'll know for sure if it's worth going on or better left behind.

Someone know what triggers distortion vignettes? sometime i get the negotiation or aversion vignette and sometime i dont, more importantly in this way how can we predict when two chosen risk to ruin their relationship because one of them get a distortion?

If you are only playing for the porn... no. This is very much a game with NSFW themes, rather than porn with gameplay elements. So you should really only play the game if you're interested in it for both the gameplay and porn.

Items have "weight" based on how strong they are, with the total combined weight of every item in the game adding up to 841.

As long as you've fulfilled the conditions to enable a vignette it will be added to the pool of scenes that can randomly play between fights. So it's really just RNG to my knowledge. Not sure how Distortions interact with relationships either though.
