I mean we're talking about a fantasy setting of their design, if they say there's no grooming then there's no grooming, simple. Sure in a real world setting you couldn't trust that at all, but again this is a fantasy setting so applying real world logic is a waste of everyone's time.

Word of god can't really override how they present it in the story, its not even the first time they have this problem as people raised similar points with new texas and the treatment in tits with how they wrote it and Reaha's story

Its basically a consequence of them trying to have more "serious worldbuilding" but still writing everything as turboslut degenaracy, in coc1 it works since the setting is a post apocalyptic fuckhole but them trying to get a bit more serious with tits and coc2 ends up going against the nature of it being a porn game

If you write a sex cult that fucks everything with a pulse and the way they get new members is by getting pregnant for money and raising said children in the cult then youre not gonna shake off the groomer sex cult vibes

Its also why the main plot of coc2 is kinda flat but i dont think anyone takes it seriously by this point anyway, trying to stop kas from "corrupting" the world is a pretty limp goal when the world is already full on degeneracy and if you follow the romance path then your romance with her and with aileh, who are supposed to be the villains, ends up being more wholesome than almost anything with your companions, like the most degen thing about the kas romance is that you need to build cait's sex cult temple to continue it

This is a setting where you can cover someone in grease, set them on fire, then flash your tits and end the encounter sucking them off. You can say it's terrible writing and completely unimmersive but to say it doesn't make sense is pointless, the setting doesn't make sense to begin with so all we can do is take them at face value.

The new texas debacle was even more rediculous. It's a whole planet of bimbos, you can't get any more blatant fetish fuel and yet people decided to take it seriously for the sole purpose of making themselves upset.

I remember the first years of this game I ended up ALWAYS fighting Kasyrra cuz back then I believed this was a continuation of CoC1 and I wanted to do a purity run.

Nowadays Kassyrra and Aileh are 2 of the best romance options this game has and I never turn them down lol.

Secondly suspending disbelief doesn't mean there's no narrative cohesion and literally anything can go. Because if we're going that insane of a degree in defense of poor planning any character in the game can spontaneously combust as there's no rule stating that they can't. There's logic to the game's world and it generally follows it.

Which is why demon non-imp pregnancy isn't a thing, Alissa was irredeemable, imps are soulless, gods are wraiths, and all assortment of things that only function when taking them completely straight.\

That was a bit of a mistake. And Reaha coming with such heavy handed lore on the darkside of treatment slaps a little given she virtually gets abandoned. While Big T acknowledges that treatment itself isn't necessarily a good thing in how it's administered (given that it's literally compulsory) that's a stain that people (in the meta sense) do their best to look past.

Ah hell, let's just edit it in. That was a stupid narrative, a bad decisions, and a heavy handed attempt to add depth without any willingness to follow through. And for an NPC that essentially never got touched ever again. I can't believe it was let in as it was. Not even any adjustments either. "Hey actually the growing up on NT is actually kind of a hell and escape is insanely difficult".

This is just silly. If you see X happening, and dev says "it is a fantasy so don't trust your own lying eyes", then dev is full of shit.

Suspension of disbelief does not mean "toss logic out the window".
We can suspend our disbelief and accept that magic is real, that a bunch of hedonist mages in a mountain produced an infecious self replicating "corruption" energy, that this energy can push a soul out of a person and replace it's function, which turns that person into a demon.

But what we can't accept is for dev to show us something and say to ignore it. We cannot accept when dev just breaks his own rules and says "lol, its magic bruh, I don't have to explain tits"
This kind of behavior results in broken suspension of disbelief.

There is a step beyond willing suspension of disbelief called Bellisario maxim / MST3K mantra / leave your brain at the door.
Which demands fans to ignore small plot holes because "limited budget" and "small team".

What do you mean predicated on real world logic? It's what it is and some of what it is draws on real world common sense.

Yet in other conversations, such as what was outlined and listed, she'd seen more than what she should have seen as regarded by other conversation points.

Bad writing is bad writing and the logic you're using is the same logic that bad critics use to excuse the deteriorating quality of various other medium that has already been thoroughly deconstructed and rebutted by people more passionate about these topics than I am. "Ah well it's made for 'X' or it's just a 'Y" so it's okay to be bad."

Gianna isn't that bad, her owner was just an ass. What happened to Yammi kinda sucks but Iced Teats (heh) isn't actually part of the NT exosystem. Only Reaha tries to explore darker angles for no reason whatsoever. Myrellion was supposed to be a traditional gold good red bad story that got mishandled into the disaster it is right now, that nobody will ever touch or resolve for no good reason.

When you open the door to deeper narrative, you open yourself up to criticism. And this criticism was that the religion should have never been explored or explained if it was going to be done so comically poorly.

I'm not sure how to explain more clearly without getting into subjective morality and I'm really not invested enough to have that conversation. I only responded in the first place because someone implied that anyone not perpetually frothing at the mouth about the temple is probably a pedo and that kind of dismissive tribalism is a bugbear of mine.

I think the issue people are having isn't the cat temple grooming. No one cares about the imaginary children living in Savin and Tobs' heads. It's that there's no consistancy when it comes to who gets morally judged. The only difference between "bad" cultists that do horrendous shit and Kassyra/baby temple cats is that on the one side you have a dude named Tollus that no writer/reader lusts after, and on the other side you have characters to simp for. Yeah Tollus is a piece of shit scumbag, but so is Kassyra. Only difference is which one appears in Savin's wet dreams. There's no coherency there outside of bias. The hypocrisy in the writing is just beyond blatant, to the point where you start to question why they bother trying to write serious plot/lore when they'd just be better served sticking to the porn and writing around that instead of trying to poorly craft a setting.
