So we have controller support, another Cait scene, another quest with Ryn material...yet poor Ryn still can't get that stupid cage off her. Oh well, I guess I should be happy there is something new added to Winter City.

That is if you decided to accept being a vassal, but the devs alluded to there being a bigger reward later on if you don't accept being a winter city vassal. I liked the Elf Guard's scenes but she dosen't seem worth it as a character since she's just a generic elf and we got enough of that.
Plus taking every opportunity to be cruel to Ryn is a bonus.

You may be mixing up two different things. The vassal offer is separate from the big Winter City Quest: Go through that quest so Ryn becomes the regent, and a while later you'll have an event at the wayfort where she offers you the opportunity to become her vassal.

I still think this is stupid design. Much like Kiyoko's amulet and "not taking it would give you a route with Taoth". Don't put in critical choices for shit that you've yet to make years later.
I hadn't installed the last few updates so I installed this one, and Immediately got a fistful of exposition from Cait's new orientalist friend or whatever the fuck she is. It's so obvious that Tobs wrote it. Savin doesn't take the whole sacred harlot, fuck as worship stuff seriously. He's aware that it's dumb as fuck, or at least seems to be.
Tobs however wrote about 5 pages of exposition and history about fucking "holy sluts" in a dead serious tongue. You can't skip it either. There is no option to "no idc".
Why.
Honestly Tobs seems to have a lot more leeway instead of just being confined to weebland now. He writes a lot of the new Winter City stuff too. Fuck.

That's never gonna happen I believe. That was the plan but Observer admitted that he couldn't write you being on Taoth's side equally, so he dropped it. Now you either get the amulet or you don't. I want to reiterate that Tobs couldn't fathom the idea of you being against his pet characters in any serious way shape or form.
That being said, I think the winter elves are aware of the Kitsune and the writers implied that you can side with them to kick them out

Because he pads out the weaker patches, if it wasn't for this elf quest, you'd get controller support, some updates on the horse images, and a Cait scene with scene Valencia. Who I couldn't even remember, and the wiki surely wasn't going to help with that. Tobs gives the illusion that the patreons paid for something this month
Imagine making more than 30k a month and you feel like this is acceptable content for it.

You have to put Ryn on the throne, wait for the Hethia to come back to the palace, and explore glacier rift. Then the next time you go back to the throne it should auto-proc.
Also word to the wise, you might want to save before entering, it's not the hardest quest even if you can't ghosts, but there's a bunch of jazz you have to do to power up Ryn. And I think that means not pulling on her what you could have done to Garret

Thankfully I have other games to play, so this month didn't bother me. But jeez, this month was horrible, the stylists were good and welcome, but everything else was either meh or pointless. I really hope Mayternity lives up, because it wouldn't excuse this month, but it at least explains it.
