IMO, a flavoured-CoC theme created from scratch would have far more potential than a unofficial CoC2 port . I genuinely think a mod won't solve all the issues plaguing COC successor.

I worked for a bit on a CoC2 port using the MZ engine coupled to JS scripts. Initially, my motivation was nothing more than to do justice to the the wayfort, where players could turn a ruin into a place they could call their own, and over time, conquer the surrounding region.

On the technical side, the proof-of-concept was up to my expectations (Font-size, HD resolution, parser system, TF items), but when I realized I was constrained by Savin's storytelling , I lost all the interest I had for the project.
I had thinked the same, But this time doing that on Unity or Unreal (making it a real RPG) May be not a CoC but a concept based, where the customization would be the base for character creation and modification. And plotwise should be a CoC soul with fantasy action (and the porn as well). But after watching how CoC ended and how is CoC2 going It seems that I should rework the lore and the concept itself.

yes I just got frustrated after a while of trying to figure out whats the closest apache royale way of using reflection to find all instances of a class.

After I think 2-3hrs I figured out it was merely a way to get the names of all "consumable" items in the game without needing to handcode a list of all consumable items beforehand through the magic of reflection.
I also want to expand on what I was trying todo in the whole conversion thing. I was trying to convert coc1 from as3 to js while preserving as much of the original code as possible. Yes the code is a bit shit but I didn't want to throw away the work of those who came before me.

Ever thought of making your own text-based game like this?
Yeah, I have been working on my own project for a while now.

I got the code working for the CoC2 port (on top of writing an extension) when I realized it was just wasted effort: I couldn't bring myself to port the content I couldn't stomach. On top of that, the COC2 modding scene is quite limited. I think there are four, five folks that are working on adding new content, and on top that, the game engine is a mess to modify.

From there, I realized that working on a new project, even with my limited coding skills, would probably be more constructive than trying to mod COC.

CoC2 gameplay is a mess, its story aspect is not faring any better.

Well, try to avoid a Lillith's Throne scenario where your janky ass code you started with holds back the entire project and you're too scared to start the whole thing over with your newfound knowledge. Do not fear the revamp. Poor Inno. You could get so much more done if you'd just revamp.

Now, getting writers for the game is something else you'll likely need to figure out. Can probably recruit from one of the chans or here.

If I remember right, in addition to having porked the bacon (sorry, I had to), you also have to either be a kitsune, or have the champion of hawkethorne or marsher baron titles unlocked. (I probably spelled that wrong, but you should get the point)

Which gives me the hope, that it is finally an overthinking about acknowledging the player power. Though maybe it is empty hope.

Why not "Marcher Bacon"? It would be very crispy innit? :sneaky:
Marcher bacon does sound like the kind of bacon that only the rich could afford. Sadly this is not the case with Rindo. Apparently, even a broke ass "champion" who gets treated like an absolute dunce in the kitsune den (and everywhere else really) can have her.

Sadly the only time she'll get preggo is in the damn ending that they planned for this game.
The typical ending where the heroine gets preggo with a bullshit "they lived happily ever after" message at the end.

But only if you did not build the temple and did not decided yourself for Kas in the end. Because Temple without Kas makes her a slut where you two will share gangbangs and Kas ending is kind of the Monster Girl Encyclopedia ending.
