Dude this is basic human behavior you don't say those things about someone's girlfriend/wife. If you tried that IRL you could get knocked the hell out, just 100 year ago that would be cause for a duel. Quin just comes out like an asshole. There's no confusion about why he's the least popular companion along with Tui. There's a very good reason why you can just leave him to die in a ditch.
The funniest thing is how Bubs just doesn't seem to understand why that is the case.
I don't think anybody other than the writers and a handful of people on their discord/patreon gives a flying fuck about Cait (or Brint really) one way or the other. And lets be honest, if you are the type of guy who's into characters like Cait that have scenes like the one where she's swallowing so much minotaur semen that she turns obese while the player watches then I don't think you'd get the appeal of characters like Drifa for example anyways.
And on the other side, for people who aren't into this type of free love/sharing/polycuckoldry that has infested almost everyone and everything in CoC2 at this point, Kiyoko and Brienne are two of the last few remaining characters that haven't (for the most part atleast) been included/tainted with that type of content (yet). So people who like them are hyper aware when it comes to that shit, and it's not a surprise that they react so negatively to a character like Quin who's basically just another one of Bubs characters like Takahiro that exists solely to shit on the champ; and if you've seen one of Bubs self inserts then you've seen them all.
Caits the third most popular companion, iirc, in both the official poll and the one on 4chan.
I'm not a huge fan, but she's actually pretty well-liked by much more than a handful.

If i gotta give something to Brint, it's that he's a gigachad done right. Doesn't try to be a badass at all times and is all around pretty easygoing, as any confident 9 feet tall pile of muscle would be. Quint's more like the virgin's gigachad, trying real hard to be cool and edgy but ending up just cringey and then gotta sneak into the party because no one invited him.

Nah. Would feel negatively about him if Brienne didn't exist, because at that point screw his positives and i'd just see him as an another character solely put into the game to cuck mine (and a companion at that). But because Brienne does exist, i just don't care that in some other person's game he gives a better time to Elthara than any PC does. Cool that some like him, not my thing and thankfully i can go down another route. The magick of choice and power fantasy.

Now I started this post to talk about my "dislike" of Brint and it turned into more of a rant about the game in general.
I don't dislike Brint for being a character with scenes pandering to women, bisexuals and gays (while I'm straight even I see that there's not nearly enough of those in the game, especially with what just happened with Berwyn, basically removing one companion).
But I do dislike Brint for being one of the default characters being used for cuckbait scenes involving companions or other relevant characters. With that I mean that way too often writers use the excuse of stuff like "female character X that previously only had scenes with a male/futa champ has no content for female champs with a vagina, so instead of writing lesbian scenes how about we write a scene where the female champ watches while Brint fucks character X into unconsiousness whether it fits character Xs previous characterization or not".
Prime examples being Elthara, Vatia, the cat harem, and that's just the ones I know about, there's probably more especially in Khor'Minos that I don't even know about cause I haven't played that section and don't plan to.
And that's not even getting into stuff like the actual cuckscenes (or call it voyeurism if you have to, but everyone knows exactly who this is supposed to appeal to) he's a part of that that ruined other characters in my eyes, like the time gardeford changed the way you got Atugia into the party a year or so ago and he tried to rebrand her as "muh virginal shy waifu" after her having barely any scenes for ages, and then one of the first and only scenes he wrote after that change was the new "waifu" Atugia getting pounded by Brint while the champ watches. If the shy waifu character jumps on Brints cock the moment there's a chance then that's not a shy waifu, and it also affects how people view that character even outside of that scene (with that and her having so little content probably being the major factors in nobody caring about her in polls).
This is not really a critique of Brint as a character himself, as I think that this is not the bulk of his content and I'm not the target audience for his champ centric scenes anyways. Maybe those are great or not, I don't know.
But what it is is a critique about the game feeling like half of the writing staff are in the closet about their cuckoldry fetish, and, going back to what I wrote about Kiyoko, Brienne and Drifa in an earlier post, that fetish and other related fetishes like voyeurism and sharing affecting the vast majority of content currently in the game instead of just being contained to certain characters like it was in CoC1, and hell, even TiTS does a better job of keeping it's few actual NTR scenes seperate from the rest of the game.
Greatest example of this in the game being the Cuckfort, excuse me, the Wayfort, which is whether you want to or not an area where the champ is barely even a factor and instead it's about hooking npcs up with other npcs like daliza and jael'yn, supposed waifubait like aileh railing/getting railed by prostitutes at the stockades for some reason, and in general the champ just watching random bypassers having orgies with every npc you sent there while the champ is out there chasing Kas and doing work.
Honestly that entire place makes Lethice's Stronghold from CoC1 look like a celibate religious study school, jesus christ.
Last point I've seen brought up regularly in response to this is: "Just don't build the wayfort", "just pick Brienne" or "don't pick the optional scene bro". While those are absolutely things you could (and should) do unless you're really into the above mentioned stuff; it also misses the point in that this game is a text based porn game with hundreds of thousand if not millions of words, and the writers have clearly put a lot of effort into it. The moment you enter certain areas like the kitsune den you get hit by an absolute wall of text. If the game wants me to read all of this shit and take the world and characters in it seriously then you can't at the same time go "just selectively ignore the parts of certain characters characterization or worldbuilding that you don't like". Like going back to Aileh, you can't expect people to do her romance and pregnancy stuff and then just ignore the part where shes still going of to the stockades. Or for another example, expect them to take eltharas lovey dovey BS serious if she's just as happy getting knocked up by your companions. And there's plenty more of that type of stuff in the game beyond what I listed if you actually know about what's being put into the game.
For a worldbuilding example, you can't have shit like the temple of mallach which is a religion of prostitutes who groom their children into being the next generation of prostitutes and then expect me to give a single shit of saving the world from Kas.
I mean what's she gonna do, turn the entire world into a sex obsessed free love fucktopia where everyone fucks everything all day every day? That's literally what this supposedly uncorrupted world already is!
Not that anyone cares but I could probably write an essay about all of the stuff that bothers me with this game, like corruption and transformations being irrelevant, the hyperfocus on certain fetishes while a LOT of stuff that was in CoC1 was completely left out, etc.. Maybe I'll post a review and I'll go more in detail there, cause I feel like compared to CoC1 (which I love even with all of its faults, and which is probably the sole reason I've even played this game despite all my issues with it) CoC2 continues to be a complete and utter disappointment, especially in the parts where it really counts. And that would hurt less if the text based porn game scene wasn't utterly dead and I had other options.
