I really liked tht, Hgg mod for CoC1 really hits different when you can just ice an irritating character. Don't like Kelt? Skin tht horse. Don't like tht Sheep bitch that tricks u into the demon pit? Get the preemptive jump on her by pulling an uno reverse card the second u meet her, killing her in a admitantly chilling serial killer moment or wait until ur justified and kill for luring ppl in the pit.
I really like that the writers of hgg mod get the feeling that sometimes you want flip between being a good boy and crazed devil depending on the moment.
Wish Savco had the balls to do stuff like tht.
The problem I feel that saving and the other guys fail to realize is that The champ is suppose to be the player's self-insert/guide into he world. Them attempting to kill people who did them wrong or took advantage of them makes absolute sense.
1) The first step would be to obviously put a hold on pumping out new characters and focus on old ones instead. It doesn't have to screech to a complete halt, but toned down significantly. I fully understand from firsthand experience how tiresome writing can be at the best of times, especially when you're not invested in the content you're writing, but I believe the people paying for the game's development (or the lining of the creator's pockets) deserve a certain standard of quality and consistency. This also tackles the issue of outdated busts since a lot of them are in dire need of a facelift.
2) Fix the goddamn typos and the syntax errors holy shit. It's not like nobody's reporting them. You can go to the forums right now and see the sheer number of typo reports that haven't been addressed. The line referring to Garth as Garret has been in the game since the introduction of the character and apparently it's going nowhere, that and more egregious errors like swapping the default and Bimbo dialogue, making me wonder why my pc is suddenly giggling like a schoolgirl for no reason. This could also include getting rid of out-of-place euphemisms like "Jeez" and the like, since you know... fantasy setting and all.
3) At least try to do something with the corruption mechanic... it's in the name ffs. I would genuinely consider revising the entire game to bring this aspect to the forefront. It wouldn't be an entire upheaval of the foundations, just adding options and appropriate reactions from the NPCs, instead of essentially treating them like mindless drones who barely react to your actions. The original had more robust examples of this where followers for instance could leave you temporarily as a response to your actions, and I believe this could be something worthwhile to consider given the game's name. The foundation is already there, where corrupted or demonized NPCs (which are irreversible decisions) could add to an irreversible corruption counter which could be utilized to reflect these changes for example.
4) Make TFs matter again more. I'm not suggesting anything "impossible" like introducing different body types, but introducing new options and dialogue just like the little acknowledgements you get for becoming a dragon, which I believe is a cool example because it shows that the player's choices and the thought they put into their PC's creation matters. This would include bringing back racial abilities because I still have no clue wtf Savin was smoking when he nuked them.
5) Iron out some of the plot holes like the 7 sitting with their collective thumbs up their asses with demons and an evil cult on the loose.
6) Do something about adult Kinu. Might even go as far as nuking the entire concept and keeping her as a child since that's what most people have suggested instead of the slop we've been given. This one might seem a little personal but it's literally the writer antagonizing the players for something they had no part in.
7) Get rid of the companion limit. Always felt weird that Savin limited the writers to one when he has 3 himself. If the writers want to write them then let them do it, given they're able to at least deliver a bare minimum, within reason of course.
8) Implement Environment art like the image pack did for CoC1, if only to break the monotony of the endless text when exploring the game world. Even just one or two images sprinkled between every three tiles or so would make a world of difference, I believe.
9) Optional Survival mode, with the need to eat and sleep. It isn't like the precedent isn't set with the blue ball status, and it wouldn't really be that difficult to implement.
I agree with pretty much all of this. If there was one thing that I felt the first game lacked was the feeling of importance and properly powerful demon companions/slaves. Though that's kinda what they were going for with you being a nobody but in coc2 you are special dude. I feel like a lot of your corruption options should, based on your choices, not make you come out as some super-rapist/murderhobo. Evil is a lot more complex and manipulative than, "I don't like you, die". The champ's actions or words convince people that, while what he did might have been morally wrong, it was the right decision against Kass. What I did like about the original game is the corruption ending that showed that you could still remain your species/self and not be tempted to cum out your soul because you are used to dealing with demons. I want to options that make me feel like a mastermind of corruption and not just some idiot doing stuff out in the
I like Arona too, my problem is that her scenes become way more dick focused after her quest. And if you get her pregnant you can randomly proc a scene where you give her a footrub followed by a handjob that you can't opt out of. Also, she goes from being a dominant futa out to rape you to being even more of a sub than Brienne. All of her resistance goes out the window post-quest.
And I wish there was a way to side with Argoth without your character being an idiot who can't follow simple instructions.
Are you talking about Sandre and Caera? If so, I have to disagree. You can eventually invite them back to the wayfort, disguise them, dom them and de-dick them. If every futa in the game was as malleable as those two the game would be objectively better imo.
Combat:
1.) I would make it so that every character in your party had a deck of powers, so you could change what powers they had access to mid-battle. You could balance it around cooldowns. Only being able to assign 4-5 powers before going through a gauntlet of random encounters is too limiting and promotes bland/generic skill use.
2.) I would change the way sensing works, it would be a bonus action that every party member can do once per turn. It would involve two checks, one for basic combat info that relies on level and cunning and one for a characters sexual interests that would be determined by your libido. Having to give up a turn just to find out what an enemy is weak to has always been annoying to me, especially since you have to do it with the MC.
Hopefully, both of these changes would make the combat flow a bit better and allow people to be more experimental in the powers they use.
3.) This might be controversial but I would get rid of kits too, the idea that a characters stats and move pool can completely change just because they changed outfits is silly( What is this FF X-2?). Party members would just have their own deck of powers and their own different armors and weapons that they gain as they level up and do different events.
4.) Party members should be able to use items too, never got why they couldn't.
5.) I would change the way presence works, I would cut the leadership bonus but give it to party members as well, so that they could buff the MCs stats as well instead of it only going in one direction.
General:
1.) I would make the MCs background more relevant to the story if possible. Maybe retcon is so that a Noble Scion is distantly related to Carmen and Tollus, or an Orc Barbarian is a cousin to Arona. Something that attaches the MC to the narrative more than you just randomly being hit by an explosion.
2.) I would give every dom-only futa an optional sub route, and in general make TFs for NPCs more common.
3.) Might not be realistic given the games stage of development but I would have chosen different party members. Characters like Azyrran, Atugia and Viviane don't have much of a connection to the story. Characters like Garret, Eryka, or Evelyn would have made more sense imo.
Arona's whole culture is about the Right OF Conquest. The whole point of the fights is establishing which of you tow have the rights to be top dog. Before you even start the quest the relationship have been established. When you make help her be cheiftan and fuck her on her throne that just shows the other orcs who is in charge. Also nah man she ain't subbier than Briene that's a flat out lie, if anything she comes off at times like a awkward sub. She gets off on the power you have over her but it's clear she's used to subbing. Her blowjob scene is so damn peak man, especially if you do it at the karvus camp.
I also agree with 1 and 2 of general but not 3. I feel your background should have a decent affect on a lot of interactions and perhaps even give you special things to say or relationships with characters due to said background. I want to feel like I'm playing a actual person I crafted in this damn game. hell they could have handled it a bit like D.i.C.K. did with you crafting your backstory and your relationships as you start the game. It was just a couple of pages but it got me immersed.
Azyrran was personally affected by kass actions with her hive. Atugia is...well you're kinda right but I also don't feel that a character has to have a strong connection to the story to be a good companion. As long as they have good reactivity and personal shit to do in the world. Eryka seems the most likely companion I would approve of. But I'm bias and I don't want to dick my boy Garret. Evelyn could work with sub path.
I also feel that depending on the character, them being sub or dom should affect their interactions with you and how other's comment on them.
There are too much of them, thts the first problem and like u said they do too little. The should affect ideally 2 or 3 aspects of the "gameplay" of this glorified smut book.
3 or 5 backgrounds are the sweetspot for writers to remember tht they exist.
They need to have stuff they bring to the party, u know? For me I think the pillars of a good companion are:
1 - Unique mechanic or function, maybe the enable you to cook special recipes at camp or access special spells but they got to have something. Bg3 has Karlach with her soul coins or Gale needing to eat magic items.
2 - Character Drama. They bring something that interacts directly or indirectly or tangential with the story or lore of the narrative.
3 - The own Objectives. They have their own goals that interact, interject, and/or interfer with the MC's goals.
4 - They hold a unique niches in the party, both in combat and out, things should feel different if they aren't in the party both in and out of combat. You've got the leader/competent one, the sexy one, the smart one, the den mother/party shield, the lancer/rival/second in command.
5 - They act as a stand in for their culture or a good starter for lore dumps disguised as character dialog. Gotta worldbuild some how and giving said character their own opinions on said lore adds extra spice to character development.
If that "companion" doesn't have at least 3 of these ticked off, its likely not gonna be good.
Agreed on the companion bit.
Absolutely agree, the character drama was spicy asf. It was really interesting how they had their own wants and peeves but it helped a lot towards giving them character moments. Some ppl might find it annoying but thts just because a lot players don't like being told No.
I'm that player. Don't tell me no.
It also just makes sense. Bit wacky that nobody in the wayfort cares that there's literal demons walking around, and that you somehow keep finding more to stuff in there. I remember reading somewhere that the wayfort was planned to be the "Corrupted PC base". Would have been nice if we could actually lean into that aspect more, but you know. The devs not interested in corruption content and whatnot.
It has the ghost of good content too. Demon Jael'yn hints that you have the qualities of a King and she would love to serve you. Another obvious thing corruption should do is give you unqinue companions you wouldn't get if you were pure.
At this point everyone just assumes the player is a lil quirky and stopped questioning it once they realized the world runs on porn logic.
She makes more sense than Azyran as a party member tbh. If Azyran wasn't made by one of the main authors she'd be relegated to one off dungeon companion and forgotten about and probably only gets the spear on the weirdly loose "royal" logic because she can be called a dragonfly as a pun. Evelyn in concept feels more like she should be involved than she is.
I think you misspelled curb stomped by troll land.
Isn't there like only one male frost elf and he's just kinda there?
All snow elf lore can best be summed up as "the girls are fighting".
Goblin Slayer is protecting us.
Like the femme pc is the domme or lesbian femdom? I agree either way though.
Also anyone else just save edit in moth lady's super sword or the dragon spear to use to make combat bearable purely out of spite?
The more I think about it. The more I feel Evelyn could be a central/important npc. Her vibes don't really give me the companion feel, you know. She's much more interested in handling her own political shit and problems. It wouldn't make sense for someone of such importance to just be going out on adventurers with us. Could she help us on our quest? Yes. But personally taking a hand in it doesn't fit her.
There's something to it bro. Being the one cucking for once. Maybe this is what a power fantasy feels like?
I've skimmed through the Octavia content against my better judgement and I'm telling you. No amount of coercion can make a man write something that extensive unless they're into it. Likely an out of context joke or something because that's some of the hardest futadom content I've seen even by this game's standard.
Please give more content of the champ chucking people. I am NOT a good person.
