I can already tell you are the type of guy who not only doesn't bother to read but will bitch out and not reply to anyone who challenges your view. But to fight my base assumptions, I will tell you straight out that you are wrong. People expected much from the game because it is a sequel to a game alot of people liked but was left unfinished. But this game brought almost nothing over, and the ones that were brought where badly implemented. Even then, if you were new, you'd expect a decent story and player agency, which a lot of times you don't get. Imagine a straight guy running into a futa whose dick musk makes their straight power fantasy warrior start drooling uncontrollably. Or getting invested into Kiyoko and Kinu, (because I don't know any games that actually let you genuinely interact and play with your children other than TiTs, but this one was a lot more personal), only to get involved with the kitsune village and basically be treated like shit and have the characters they like ruined because of a spite project. What about the YEARS of unfinished content left to rot or the mainline story going nowhere, interesting plot points that either get changed as if they never happened or discarded?

You can't honestly simplify why people dislike this game if you have a nugget of intelligence or even independent thought. The shit we all complain about isn't made up reason for us to be mad. There are glaring issues that hurt the game, and if we really just hated it and didn't give a shit, we wouldn't talk about it so much. We all just want it to be better than it is because it can be if the writers locked in and stop just writing for themselves or atleast other writers have a crack at it without making the process take months to years to get something they want in. There's so many problems in and out of game

Hot take I also want monster ppl to act like monster ppl not ppl playing cosplay, you know what I mean? I love the writer who made the mermaid doujin. It was due to his comic with Hasshaku-sama that got me hooked on tall women. I also like how he can get you perfectly scaroused. Like yeah the mermaid is hot alot of things about her show just how inhuman she is. Why does she have claws, she's so fucking large, why are her eyes dark like the depts of the sea...and why can't I see her teeth? It's like she's hiding them. Then the confirms my fears at the end and I frankly love it. Monster-girls should be monsters, and being liked/loved by them should be a privilege. Other-wise you'd mosty likely end up mualed or eaten, maybe both.

It really just shows that none of the people in charge of this game have any right to be leading game development. And I get it, "It's an indie project" "It's just a bunch of friends making a game". I would contend the fact that there are a circle of writers on payroll is enough to make this count as a professionally developed game. Though I'm not asking for full on structured game dev or crunch times or anything of the sort. Just, Savin was a writer on the first CoC and TiTs, surely he'd at least know to make things easier for people to get their writing into the game. That's how the previous two games were developed, on the back of a dedicated fanbase contributing to new content.

I'm loving the discussions here, especially the list about what changes we'd make to the game were we in charge. Crimsonsongbird1982's list is pretty close to my wishlist as well. I'll still always say Lusina in the Harvest Valley should've been our new thief companion once it was clear Einen would be scrapped. Yeah she's not a rouge, but she uses thief skills in combat. Highway bandit is good enough to fit the bill. She could even get a warrior themed alt set as well.

For personality, I can see it going two ways. One the easy but simple way and the other the complex but harder way. The former is to just do what GS21 said, make the corruption system work as our personality meter.

The less corrupt you are, the more of a goody two shoes you are, the more corrupt, the more of a dick you are. There can be certain options gatekeeped between one or the other. Hypothetically say, the ability to cuck someone if you're corrupt. Or the ability to free someone who's enslaved if you're not corrupt.

The other way would be to tie your personality to the background you select during character creation. Currently, we have ten backgrounds to choose from. Noble, Hunter, Scholar, Soldier, Courtesan, Minstrel, Arcanist, Barbarian, Slum Rat, and finally Acolyte (Insert Star Wars joke here.). I think some of these can be consolidated a bit. Arcanist and Scholar, Hunter and Barbarian are similiar enough to warrant this. Still, that leaves us with eight different personalities to write, as well as the corrupt variants. Yeah, definetly going to have to consider consolidating more of the backgrounds if we're going this route.

I'm against the corruption personality bit. Atleast i don't want it to be completely based off of that. It reminds me too much of how alot of mainline games handle evil. Thinking that being a murderhobo and randomly killing/hurting people for no reason is the evil experience people are looking for. I want to be more lawfully evil, or to put it simply, like a politician. I can see the corruption making us more selfish and unempathetic to others, generally strangers and the like. But I'd still like the freedom of being kind and loving towards my wives, children, and some of my companions. I'm not against the corruption changing our personality, but making us a dickhead really doesn't do it for me. Personality/background stuff we choose when we made our character should work with the corruption. Like maybe if you choose soldier, the corruption makes you more agressive and domineering. But it's something you can reign in so you aren't like that all the time. Demons in coc2 suppesdly have a single obsession that they love doing and while they can engage in other things it doesn't really give them any positive feelings.

I'm going on a tangent, but I like to have my cake and eat it.

Sometimes I think it wasn't entirely that. Like it's a big, probably primary, part but the way he references and canonizes his old writings and what he wants makes me think he wanted to be in control of the setting and lore and make it his own. It would match his ego.

He and others tried that with FoE, but it fell apart fast, and nobody gave a damn about it. But he reached the point where it doesn't really matter that coc2 is nothing like the original because he already has a dedicated fanbase. I'm also spiteful enough to enjoy that regardless of what he tries, due to his own actions coc 2 is a bad game in comparsion to the first. It's practically hollow imo in terms of story and engagement. Like I used to skip alot of TiTs stuff and content because I didn't care for sci-fi settings and alot of stuff just didn't appeal to me. Now I'm doing that with coc 2 writing and it sucks. Because I want to learn about the characters and lore but it's so damn boring. Agni new content is boring as hell, aparently she was former warrior priest of Sorran of some shit and her clothes gave her lightning powers but just ugggh. I just can't make myself care about the character. If anything I was annoyed Zhara was glazing this useless loser of a phoenix so much. I understood why, but emotionally, I was just annoyed by it.

People have also mentioned that they may implement some way to undo the temple choice to do the new Cait content, if it is ever released. The people I've seen mention it are writers for the game.

The problem with all of this goes back to the fact that actual story development moves at a glacial pace, and that some things are "planned" in advance with no clear method or real time frame for how they are going to connect it back. Like how old is the temple content (May of 2021)? Now think about the fact that this alternate route for Cait may have been talked about around then and then add to it the fact that, based on what one of the writers said, the alternate route won't be out until Tychris comes out at some point next year. Your confusion makes sense because this is not how you should plan out the development of a game or any kind of lengthy project in general. You should never give someone a choice in a game that has an alternative, and not have the alternative out within a reasonable amount of time. Certainly not 5 fucking years.

On paper it's supposed to cause Cait to give up on being free from the religion and encouraging her worst traits like her need to fuck everything in eyesight and may make her breed happy which she's been iffy about until that point. In practice they didn't convey that and Cait is still a static character so they either dropped it and haven't come out and said they have or it's relegated to an epilogue slideshow now because savin can't write character growth.

Savin really read "Mage & Demon Queen" and put the concept into his homebrew DnD setting without understanding why that series was popular.

Like I said a few posts up, it's clear a lot of this is badly planned, poorly implemented, and likely to be left unfinished for who knows how long, possibly forever, there seems to be a trend of these idiots going "Hey wouldn't it be cool/hawt if..." adding said thing without thinking how it affects literlly anything else, and then getting borde after nutting and dropping it for the next FOTM. Calling them out is always met with all manner of excuses from the simps and whales, excuse me, "Real Fans" ™ and open hostility from the shitty dev team.

The temple mess will probably never see proper integration, but we might get a patch job after building it and catching her slutting it up more than usual, ala Hel and the minotaurs, where you can interrupt and make her be only your slut, or join in, or sadly jack it in the corner like I suspect they would.

Since the whole temple building quest was implemented, IIRC. The slut temple was suppose to be the corrupt path. Now why the fuck would you give the players the option to build the slut temple, the "corrupt" choice, with no alternate route is beyond me. Especially because the quest does imply that there's some urgency given that Hawkthorne is sitting atop a magic nuclear reactor about to go meltdown unless something is built on top of it. Only for Savin to retroactively turn around and go,

"Actually guys, we're planning on a whole other route that will put Cait on the waifu path!"

A lot of people had already did the quest and saved their games with the temple built. You can understand the shitstorm that caused, which I think led to them walking back a bit on it. I think it also had something to do with Kas as well and whether her romance path would progress. It's just been like five years since then so I'm not surprised no one's talked about it, especially since given the dev's track record, there was a very high chance they'd just never implement the alt path to begin with.

Just more braindead development strategy from Savin, the next Todd Howard in the making. Any other video game would have given you both choices when the quest was first implimented. Not Savin though. He does things different. Forcing the player to start a totally new run ensures that we get a chance the experiance CoC II all over again! How genuis is that!?

The change I would like is to make Alante, Hethia, or Garret a companion instead of Quint or Agni. The fact is that Quint and Agni's character builds haven't been updated in so long that no one even bothers to mention their existence anymore. At least Garret or Hethia have accompanied us in some battles, so designing them as companions makes sense.

Hey everybody, I repurposed a modloader named KittyPatcher from Course of Tempation to Corruption of Champions 2, that makes modding this game easy, painless, and flexible. It works like a traditional game modding system where all mod files are put in a mod folder, a script is launched, and it mods the game for you. Me and Azriel are working on making it as update proof as possible (although it is already update proof for many mods you'd be making).

All mods released and developed for this game have been updated and integrated using KittyPatcher. So you can get all COC2 mods from one place using one easy method.

Azriel's Companion Mod: Allows for many more companions to be recruited into the party. Google Drive
Aylin's Cheat Mod: Allows many QOL features that improve the game experience, along with many cheats and modifications. Google Drive
Kitty's Game Editor Mod: Brings all ofCOC2 Save Editor functionality to the game itself. No more editing saves, you can do all that in game now. You can also recruit/dismiss any NPC in the game. You can now recruit previously removed NPC. You can also play any event in the game, and go to any location in the game. Google Drive
Kitty's Extra Companions: Adds Tamarind and Hethia as followers, trying to get evevyone to be added as followers. Google Drive
Kitty's Merielle Expanded Mod: Allows Merielle to be recruited as a companion, with her own interactions. (Good for learning how to make NPC's companions) Google Drive
