While I'm not in your position so I don't quite understand things from your POV, I've never really understood why people get upset at something that's obviously created just to goon to. Or at least to the point of voicing displeasure about it. Because like it's never gonna amount to anything, people are gonna get off to what they want and there's not really much you can do about it. It make complete sense, not only is she with her mother alot of the time, Kiyoko is much more strict and all about tradiation. Her daddy is more wild, rough around the edges, and simply more worldly. Based on his scars and intense gaze she can tell he's someone who does alot of fighting, but he's so warm and kind to her. Willing to tell her how things are with his pragamtic view and give her geniune advice as if he is truly expecting her to go out in the world. But with her mother, it's clear that most of her life will revolve around being around her own kind and living in their territory. Her father is a hardened adventurer who was a soldier long before that. He is a man who has seen the worst of what the world could offer but still tries her like something precious. He's pragmatic but she's never seen him treat her or her mother cruelly. Something that shook her view on knights and shiny armor, for what is that but a untested, green, warrior? Her father is a man who wears the skin and fur of a great and powerful beast. Just thinking of all the things he must be doing in the waking world fills her with whimsy. Why wouldn't Kinu want a man as dependable and strong as her father? A man who look chains of tradiation of the kitsune and help her jump out of them, or even breaks them if necessary?

They shot themselves in the foot multiple times and clearly regret it. They made a choice-based text game but made the choices useless. It couldn't really stand as it's own thing without choices either, this game is a mix-mash of idea that don't really work, but give the illusion that they could. DoL works so much better because of all the options you have in terms of sex, fetishes, and plain people you can interact with. It isn't without story or anything like that, but it require you to go out of your way to find it.
