THERE'S A NOVEL?! On the other hand, I don't dislike the fact that Kiyoko does those things because I personally feel that is an interesting story beat. The problem is the lack of agency when we free them, we can't figure out what's happened between fox wife and daughter, nor explain to them what was years to them was a couple of days or weeks with you. It might have even been just a singular day when you immediately went to free them. While repairing our relationship with our daughter might be a little difficult, I think Kinu is smart enough to realize that we give a damn about her, considering we had to fight our way into the den just to free them. While Kiyoko is all smiles and sunshine with being around us, it would take us pushing ourselves into Kinu's business until she finally breaks and reveals what Kiyoko did for us to choose how we handle our relationshiup with fox wife.
Honestly, imo it would be fine if he was open to critism and willing to improve upon his work. It's always the most talentless or laziest fucks who get lucky/hop on the success of something else then choose to just create shit updates and milk money. Yandere dev and It better be Futa Savin.
I like how Whitney argues that People who dealt with Kelt wanted to be abused and sexually harassed by Kelt. But it's just bullshit, Kelt helped guard the farm. Which was more important than warning people about Kelt or just getting rid of him. She was a hypocrite and just because she was pure doesn't mean she was a good person. I always like the idea that my coc1 fell to corruption because it was a dog eat dog world, and he was just doing unto others what they would do to him. Which was half-truth, but some people genuinely wanted to help him or just be left alone (Jojo and Amily), but he grew to love the power and dominance he had over others. Coc1 wasn't perfect, but it had some grounded characters that helped you build your narrative of your champ and their relationships/personality pretty well.
Gotta somewhat disagree with you on bg3 player agency at least in some small parts. Sure, you could attack and kill them at anytime while they were in or out of party, but it doesn't really make sense unless you're a murder-hobo or just want to see what would happen for the lols. Say you are doing an evil playthrough, and a party member doesn't like that. They talk shit to you and then leave, but an evil player should get the option of "Yo, if you really don't want to do what I say, I will just kill you. There's no point in keeping you alive knowing you will actively oppose me."
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous handled that specific situation better. With a bunch of choises on what mythic path you'd take and how you'd handle party members. Not to say i'd It's superior to bg3 in everything they have vast difference and offer different types of engagement. But if you are looking for a more power fantasy, type thing where you character have personal quest and such, I'd suggest Pathfinder WoR.
This is completely irrelevant but I hyper-focused on that shit and hated how bg3 didn't give me proper evil playthrough I wanted.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is an amazing game, but when it comes to a true evil playthrough and giving your custom Tav story weight, it falls flat. The “evil” route isn’t a path to becoming a manipulative, power-hungry villain — it’s just being a murder-hobo. Side with the goblins or kill major NPCs, and you aren’t rewarded with a new and unqiue questlines, rivalries, or a rise through the Absolute’s ranks. Instead, you lose companions, quests, and merchants without gaining anything equally deep in return. There’s no political intrigue, no faction-building, no alternate villain endgame — just the same main story with less content. You also end up way weaker in act 2 due to the lack of items for not siding with the tieflings.
It’s made worse by the lack of evil companions and the inability to corrupt or control good-aligned ones. Outside of Minthara, who has minimal post-recruitment content, you can’t build a truly dark party. Why the hell couldn't be have gotten a goblin companion like Sazza or Z'rell? If you side with the goblins Wyll and Karlach simply walk away, with no option to threaten, intimidate, or sway them to your side over time. And as a custom Tav, you feel like a sidekick in your own story — Origins like Shadowheart or Lae’zel get major cutscenes, personal arcs, and world reactions, while your background, class, and race barely matter. In the end, BG3 punishes you for playing evil and sidelines you as a custom character, missing the chance to make a villain run as deep, rewarding, and narratively weighty as a heroic one.
Because Savin and Tobs have fragile fucking egos and can't handle things like proper adults. Simply saying 'no' and explaining why or saying it from a mod instead of squirting shit everywhere. It just boggles my brain that people can be this damn up their ass without any proper self-evaluation. Were they raised in a bad environment or something?
As a writer, I've kinda come to terms with the idea that people may make porn of my character or use some of my mcs as bbc stand-ins simply because they are black men. I just saw porn as another way of showing admiration for a character just in a more carnal way. Even if they are used to display god-awful fetishes. Freaking out and getting mad about it is just silly at this point. If people like a character alot, there's going to be porn of it. It's basically a compliment.
I hate the game, but like this specific community. Okay that's a lie, I like the game but hate alot of stuff in it. It such a waste and it's not to late to save it, so it's frsutrating that nothing will be done. I just have to watch as it gets worst. Truly the cuck experience.
