I know that but... It's a little bit in bad taste, no? Playing up one of the most traumatic events of a servant's life for a cheap joke. I don't know... I'm not one to clutch pearls but given how interludes are meant to be special events you unlock for your servant... I just wished it could've been different. Early Fate:Grand Order was just weird with it's writing sometimes.

A lot of story potential with certain servants is just sort of never explored or not addressed. I only made it to the Camelot singularity where everyone said the writing gets way better but then my phone started to shit itself every time I open the game, so most of my knowledge of what comes after is stuff I've absorbed from fan arts and memes.

Back on topic, do we got a list of all the commissioned OC characters? I know Kaly and Agni are. I'm pretty sure the goocat in the undermountain is also. Then there's Rune at the slut temple... You know, did her owner give Bubs permission to ship Quin with Rune? Or did he literally take someone's OC to be one of his "chads" waifu?
Yusra, the slippery cat boy in the temple is a commission.

Actually... Yeah... There was that Boudica interlude quest we don't talk about... *Visible disgust for turning my sweet and loving British big sis waifu into a rape joke.*
And they kept it the same even when you played as female master. That made things even more unsettling. Come to think of it, in the first ServantFes summer event at least when playing as female master you get one sidequest that is written in such a way that it looks like a bunch of men are about to try and rape you. But it turns out to be a misunderstanding, SO COME ON, LAUGH!!! Yeah, it bothers me a lot.

Well the Kinu thing was Tob's Savin simping flaring up, but the rest of the foxtism he suffers from stems with him wanting to make the Kitsune an allegory for Imperial Japan...
Back when I still cared about good Kitsune content in the game, I wrote extensively on fenoxo forums how a lot of this doesn't make sense. One very glaring issue about the abject xenophobia is that... and I don't think it was retconned?... The Kitsune country is a place where the Kitsune are a minority. The Tanuki are more numerous and there are other races, some from the time when the Belharran Empire was encroaching on the isles. In short, xenophobia is bullshit.

And a monoculture wouldn't be an explanation since only the Kitsune are vampires who need to adhere to rules about being a vampire. Not that this stops them if Tobs wishes so.

And if we were to apply this courtesy of equivalent exchange in a true manner... These Kitsune are forced to interact with other cultures in a polite manner to sustain themselves, often hiding their own nature with illusion. Which means they should be used to people living different lives and they would see families and both the good and bad stuff. How is this isolationist?

I just never could uncerstand what was wrong with following the trope of Kitsune depicted as the mysterious cunning pranksters, who can both love humans as well as cause mayhem. And by now I pretty much moved on, though I still hope to find more kitsune content out there.

Oh, also. Fuck you Tobs for writing the Tanuki culture into a wall. You didn't even plan to make any Old Country Tanuki, so why write them to be subservient to the Kitsune, content and ever-loyal? Just re-reading the Tanuki entry in wiki brings back anger...

It's 100% weird considering most Interludes are bonding time with servants while getting to know them better. It especially sucks for Boudica because she's a pretty forgotten servant most of the time, both game-play wise and in the community.

If Boudica Avenger comes out someday, I'd actually pick the game back up for her. Such a disservice that she hasn't gotten an alt yet. She has a ton of squandered potential considering how tragic her backstory is. Like why the fuck does she like Nero? She should go into a murderous rage just seeing the bitch.

Nero was unironically a mistake.

I mean, IRL Boudica's story was mostly about romans betraying their alliance to rape and pillage her kingdom, her people and her daughters, so...
Do you think Savin & co., will take inspiration from some episodes of human history to add to the ever increasing lore of the game?, Khor'minos rendition of the Abduction of the Sabine Women when?

To this day, it still puzzles me that the dude fucked up the whole fox story with Kiyoko and Kinu because he claims to spite incest lovers from CoC1. Bro shot on a good story for probably 10-20 at most people outta a thousand. I u9nestly think it just whether he wanted and hide behind that because it didn't go over well.

Ain't that the truth:BootyTime: I'm sure he's whispering in you ear as your character is bouncing on futacock "do you feel immersed yet?"
As he lubes the Bad Dragon bussy plower 9000 for his tier gold patreons, "no more power fantasies, only happy bouncing now:KappaPride:"

Actually... Yeah... There was that Boudica interlude quest we don't talk about... *Visible disgust for turning my sweet and loving British big sis waifu into a rape joke.*

And what happened to Sakura in the original Fate/Stay Night.... Ugh... I'm going to stop talking now...

Well the Kinu thing was Tob's Savin simping flaring up, but the rest of the foxtism he suffers from stems with him wanting to make the Kitsune an allegory for Imperial Japan. Which.... Makes zero goddamn sense in the world building! Japanese imperialism was influenced by European Imperialism and the fact that Japan realized it needed to modernize in order to not end up like Qing dynasty China. Yes, you had guys who wanted to expand beyond the Japanese islands like Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but they were outliers and pre-industrial Japan preferred isolation over getting involved in forgien affairs.

Tobs' depiction of the Kitsune mix two very distinct eras of Japan and tries to merge them into one. It's like portraying Bourbon ruled France as Revolutionary France. Yes, they're both France, but they're different eras of France with different ideologies and philosophy.

I'm not sure if this is a personal story to him, as IIRC from the old /cocg/ threads on 4chan he's Chinese. But if so, I'm afraid he's going about it wrong.

For one, I question why you'd put a personal commentary about Japanese Imperialism that was inflicted on your own people in a porn game featuring at least five different futadoms, grooming cults, and self-inserts.

Secondly, he's failed to say anything of substance regarding the imperialism of the Kitsune or imperial Japan. Okay, they're invaders who came to the Frost Marches and are hostile to the Frost Elves and were killing the Druid's trees and converting their spirits, execpt that part's been retconned or not who the fuck knows anymore. What is the message here? Imperialism bad, Mmmkay?

We the player are never going to go to the Kistune homeland ourselves. We don't have a choice to meaningfully oppose them or experiance any examples of their wanton cruelty. You know, the thing imperial Japan was most known for? A sure fire way to actually address the point you were trying to make? An actual goddamn plot?

And again... It just makes no sense! I know I'm harping on this point but... The shift from the Edo period to the Meiji period was what changed Japan and spurred the growing militarism that led it down the path it went down! You cannot have samurai and shinobi be around and still have it be imperial Japan, because it was the abolition of the samurai, the culling of the power of the daimyo that lead to the centralization of power! The same as if you still had knights and landsknechts running around under the employ of elector princes and have it be nazi Germany!
Tobs wanted the cool parts of what he liked about Japan and mixed them while staying far too serious about what's basically, a fantasy porn setting. Bro should've gone with a much more relaxed approach while (and it ain't wonderful how none of them learned this lesson?), letting you, the player, question everything that happens

Play it straight, but be aware this is still play pretend

I care nothing about court drama at the cherry blossom throne because I'm not ever going there, my main input comes from either become their champion (fuck the rest of you trashunes), marrying their long lost lady and distant family of their god and getting a noble concubine they themselves kicked to snowland because she's slightly toasted, none of those actions take me closer to experience them at their weeb country because all I really know comes from their tree, and it full of tropes from anime, that would be fine should he relax instead of trying to write drama

Tobs if you're lurking here (and you're, I know you're), please ignore the previous comment, people crave the cuck experience, we want more of Kinu being mad at her mom and the champion so she can have bland farm sex with that self insert of you her boyfriend
One self insert is who he wishes he was, the second self insert is boring but still who he wishes he was. It's like incest but fictional and with extra steps.

I u9nestly think it just whether he wanted and hide behind that because it didn't go over well.
You're probably right. Bet he really thought he was writing fire till he found out it was divisive at best to his simps, and hated by everyone else. Easier to claim spite to preserve his ego. Doesn't help that his writing style is more effective than melatonin.

I'm not sure if this is a personal story to him, as IIRC from the old /cocg/ threads on 4chan he's Chinese. But if so, I'm afraid he's going about it wrong.

Wut. I realize no country is a monolith, everyone is different, and idk Tobs circumstances, but that feels odd to read a chinese person simping for imperial japan. Like only Japan likes imperial Japan.

They retconned that shit hard but left in the early foreshadowing to make it look like the rape-foxes being innocent is an intended twist now instead of laziness. Had to fit colonialism and imperialism apologists in there somehow I guess.

And again... It just makes no sense! I know I'm harping on this point but... Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Meiji restoration the point where samurai still existed but were getting phased out in favor of firearms but they were still around in some capacity? Granted that still doesn't erase the point. He's got early samurai being expansionists and offers nothing to say why their country would be like that when they got blasted back technologically too. And if anything makes the ones we interact with closer to early British settlers in North America just with a Japanese aesthetic.

And a monoculture wouldn't be an explanation since only the Kitsune are vampires who need to adhere to rules about being a vampire. Not that this stops them if Tobs wishes so.
He probably intended them to be the underdogs until he realized people were viewing them poorly. I think there was only one guy ardently defending them when I finally got bored and moved on from the forums.

Nero was unironically a mistake.
You take that back and embrace The Holy UmU. Unless you think Jalter is better, in which case I agree.

I get why people feel this way, honestly. The memes on how she's the favorite really ring true especially in the early game of FGO. And look... I love her too, Nero herself also suffered during her life and has issues the same as all the other servants, but man, too much of a good thing and all of that.

Let's not forget how Nasu said OG seiba Artoria's (No, I'm never going to call her Altria, that's stupid) story was finished and basically just ignore her entire existence in FGO. Despite the fact she's literally the app icon!? She's the face of the franchise!? We really not going to feature her in the main story at all!? Not her meeting with her former knights, facing her sister Morgan, maybe even talking to Mordred (Ha, yeah right!)? Okay...

I just never could uncerstand what was wrong with following the trope of Kitsune depicted as the mysterious cunning pranksters, who can both love humans as well as cause mayhem. And by now I pretty much moved on, though I still hope to find more kitsune content out there.

Yes, there really would've been nothing wrong with them just being fantasy Japan. It's needlessly complicating the lore with random anachronistic bullshit that has no place in CoC II anyways. Notice how I said "No place in CoC II", while it would be really hard for you to write a serious portrayal of imperial Japan in a porn game, it's not an impossible idea. I myself wouldn't recommending attempting it, but fortune favors the bold I guess...

None of all this lore about the Old Country would be as pointless if we could, you know, go over there! But instead we just have to listen to everyone yap on about them. That little event you get where Kiyoko signs away her title just like that really could've been expanded to a full on expansion, but what do I know? I certainly haven't got a document with some drabbles about a potential expansion about this... Nope... Not at all...

Oh, and yeah, fuck Tobs and Savin for holding Onis and Teigu over our heads, "Oh, we have those in the Old Country! They'll never come here though Ohohohohohohohoh!". They barely did anything with Lady Evergreen and her family, and it probably was thanks to her being a dommy mommy futa (Though not a true futadom) that she's even occasionally remembered.

The samurai were already in decline by the time the Meiji restoration occured. It was after the abdication of the shogun that the daimyo were stripped of their domains and forced into European style peerage while the land was restructured into centralized prefectures under the government.

This basically rendered the samurai redundant, as they were retainers to daimyo, but if the daimyo are gone... what was their purpose? So the Meiji government begain stripping them of their traditional rights and privileges. Many samurai simply accepted these changes for what they were and started to invest their time and money into land and industry or get jobs in the government.

The ones that didn't accept led many small scale rebellions across Japan, the biggest of which was the Satsuma Rebellion of 1877.

But again, if the Kitsune got rid of their Shogun when Belhar showed up and Commodore Perry'd their asses, then the first thing they'd do is restructure themselves to a more centralized nation. No more daimyos. Probably no more samurai as well as what could they do that a normal footsoldier couldn't? Probably no more den mothers having free reign. And this all took place before the Godswar mind you, so none of the "gods" were around to do anything about it.

In regards to samurai and expansionism, the leader of Satsuma rebellion, Saigo Takamori, had a huge expansionism boner. One of his ideas, back before he got butthurt over peasants getting important positions based on merit rather than, say, being from a samurai lineage, was to go to the Korean court, humiliate them enough to get killed and thus give Japan a cassus belli to invade. That thankfully was stopped.

Anyway, trying to write imperialist Japan into a world where everything else is drawn with broad brush strokes of other cultures just results in a feeling of disconnection.

Not unless you count our Pipe Bobm Queen Castoria. Also Altria is big stupid why TF did they change her name to something that's supposed to pronounced in engrish.

Oh, and yeah, fuck Tobs and Savin for holding Onis and Teigu over our heads, "Oh, we have those in the Old Country! They'll never come here though Ohohohohohohohoh!"
If there were an official list of stuff that is ruining/wrong with the game, excessive world-building would be top 5.

Probably no more samurai as well as what could they do that a normal footsoldier couldn't? Probably no more den mothers having free reign. And this all took place before the Godswar mind you, so none of the "gods" were around to do anything about it.
Insert impending lore dump about how Keros "fixed" everything and put kitsune on top to keep with the weeb fantasy. It'll be 68 pages long to blue ball my juvenile humor. I'm definitely asking too much, but I hope they drown in irrelevancy once CoC2 is over and never touch anything else again. Slightly unrealistic by now but I hope patreon dumps them and scares Savin. And if I can't have those things, then I hope once the game is done someone drops a definitive mod that overshadows Savin's work and makes him angy.

In regards to samurai and expansionism, the leader of Satsuma rebellion, Saigo Takamori,
That he seems to be looked back on fondly in spite or because of his bullshit is concerning.

Sadly, at least TOBS' legacy will live on. His main job is probably being a ghost writer for some big company, because he has enough disposable money to throw at random game devs to insert his shitsunes into their games (I'm talking about Elin).
The only consolation is that Elin is a sandbox, so there's no daddy Savin to stop Evil and Intimidating Horse Player from, say, enslaving and/or murdering TOBS' precious fox sluts. Sseth even made this same joke about those OC self-inserts in his review of Elin. :KEK:

Exactly this, they don't even fit within themselves because everything around them is vaguely fantasy stuff with this or that detail to make it feel familiar, and then they are this over complex yet vacuous mix match of imperial Japan with feudal Japan but none of the external influences that made them. Even the snow elves keep a little bit of this fantasy quality and ethereal feeling that comes with them living in an ice city beyond a forest

If you're ever allowed to reach Jassira, hopefully not as a sex slave, I would expect to find sexual Aladdin, I would expect things to look and feel like the first princess trainer, the aesthetics man, the aesthetics do matter specially when you need to keep things superficial enough in order to avoid this saturation of content. Lore for the sake of lore is useless and within the game is a disaster

Lore dump without a payout will always feel empty and a waste of time and resources, having said that, in universe exploring at least why Lady Evergreen and her line decided to fully embrace Imperial Belharan unlike the kitsunes would've been something cool and a smart way to explore what happens there if you're never going to visit

It annoys me

Sadly, at least TOBS' legacy will live on. His main job is probably being a ghost writer for some big company, because he has enough disposable money to throw at random game devs to insert his shitsunes into their games (I'm talking about Elin).
The only consolation is that Elin is a sandbox, so there's no daddy Savin to stop Evil and Intimidating Horse Player from, say, enslaving and/or murdering TOBS' precious fox sluts. Sseth even made this same joke about those OC self-inserts in his review of Elin. :KEK:
Sseth, as always, based beyond human comprehension.

So this was the first I've heard of Elin, so I did a light search, did tobs pay to make Kinu a goddess? Like no joke that's really weird. Just so cringe.

The nazi furry gooner and the nipon supremacist furry gooner meet each other and become edgelords friends, god is a comedian :KEK:
I am so glad I never gave this game money or idea submissions.

He couldn't fit that in the 69 pages of Kinu trauma dumping and having several issues
He do be stretching those pages out though. Wonder if they had to impose a page word limit cause of him yet.

now I wonder who would've won at cucking the champion, if drunk fox man getting all the hotties or blade man/farmer man at getting Kinu and her mom and sisters and the others. I'm seriously temped to write that shit but it's sunday...
If someone ever makes a kinu sex mod I might actually dig up my old forum log in and post it to tobs's thread for funsies.

I hope they drown in irrelevancy once CoC2 is over and never touch anything else again. Slightly unrealistic by now but I hope patreon dumps them and scares Savin

In the end, I'm glad Noa is getting supported is what this all boils down to.

Now let me balance this post out a little
WSAN made youtube vids own writing and not doing stuff like this and saying something about along the lines that the player will know half ass content. But they do it in other content too and not just with Kalysea.

With the closest (and only) attempt being Rina, you wouldn't use Wsan to write a character that has an actual arc is what I'm getting at. Much like "sub" Evelyn, it wouldn't get finished and/or it'd be half-assed if it was.

Actually... Yeah... There was that Boudica interlude quest we don't talk about... *Visible disgust for turning my sweet and loving British big sis waifu into a rape joke.*

And what happened to Sakura in the original Fate/Stay Night.... Ugh... I'm going to stop talking now..
It's not the lowest lowlight of that game (that'd be Agartha) but the Rider version of Boudicca is so unfortunate on the Rome one.

The one from Romulus' interlude was at least allowed to muster anger for a smidge and it was good.

I don't think we're getting an Avenger Boudicca any time before Ordeal Call ends. OC2 sent the Avengers off for a while (except Anra).

Wut. I realize no country is a monolith, everyone is different, and idk Tobs circumstances, but that feels odd to read a chinese person simping for imperial japan. Like only Japan likes imperial Japan.
If he's Chinese, I'm disappointed. No flying swords, no talking dogs, no ridiculous kung fu shit... What a waste.

TOBS and Savin fit like a pair of gloves. Both are insufferable edgelords who hate their own fanbase. It's almost like fate itself guided them to meet eachother. :HideThePain:
Fate/stay shit, if you will.

Okay...
So... Nero.

Nero was added to Extra as part of subverting expectations. Their Shinji is a little kid using his model while thinking the Moon Grail War is a game. Sakura, Issei, Taiga, Kotomine and the track club trio are NPCs. Rin is a hacker and blonde, possibly from the same family that became the Tohsakas in Japan (as they're not originally Japanese, being Christian technically serves as a tip of that).

She's downright in the middle of the playable servants, ranging from a totally original servant (Caster, Tamamo-no-Mae) and a returning servant (Archer, Nameless or Emiya), being a servant with a similar appearance but a totally new personality.

Because she has Saber's face but a far more outspoken personality, she ended up growing from Saber's popularity and getting additional fame on top.

Come FGO and she is handpicked to be one of their early pushers in term of advertisement, getting her own singularity and her own alt early on (Nero Bride). And then her own event, Nero Fest, which would usually come with a twist after the first one in the shape of other characters overtaking it.

The cyclical nature of things would cool her push off, though... which led us to the dawn of Lizcancer, the cashing in of noted girlfailure in the shape of a servant: Lancer Elizabeth Bathory. She's somehow worse than Nero.

The funny thing is that even if she was there to make it easier for them to have a Saberface without having to use Artoria, then that though lasted for two singularities as Lancer Artoria Alter dropped on London, then Lancer Artoria proper on Camelot.

We're at a point where there's a grown up for the alter of the parody version of Artoria. Mysterious fucking Heroine XX Alter.

So yeah. Not only was she overpushed, she didn't even serve for her purpose too well.

Nero was a mistake.

Still less of a whore than Cait though.

But we get magical tree iron man armor and the enemies from that one Naruto PS2 filler arc game.

Nero was a mistake.
And eternal. I'm absolutely picking her in Fate/Extra Record since I can't have Arcueid.

Let's say you've got a bone to pick with Savin and Tobs. The teams much bigger than them.
At the end of the day this is still just a furry porn game. I may rake the crew over the coals occasionally but it's not from a place of actual malice.
Less wishing harm and malice and more annoyed at how things are. Also to be fair I wasn't thinking of anyone else on their team when I said that but as far as I'm aware, the actual team is small and everyone else is considered free contributors or contractors or commissioned writers that wouldn't be impacted by such an outcome. Though you have a point, I have no issue with Balak and Moira and wish nothing bad on them. Though I mainly brought it up as exaggerated venting than genuinely wishing it.

But to get to the real meat of my contention, we shouldn't be hoping or celebrating patreons ability to casually step in the way between people being able to spend money on the things they want to spend it on (within legal reason).
I do agree with this though, especially in light of recent steam and itch.io news.

May Kitty-patcher bring fun hours and happiness over you
I love the tags implying that the presence of these three characters necessitates a content warning.

So this was the first I've heard of Elin, so I did a light search, did TOBs pay to make Kinu a goddess? Like no joke that's really weird. Just so cringe.

Kinu is a priestess in Mifu village which the player can recruit. I'm pretty sure TOBs paid for the Mifu race, Mifu village, Kinu and Kizunami to exist. I'm fairly certain that noa has significant control over the story and such though, and I'm not going to complain about being able to play as a kitsune in Elin, even if their complete non-existence in Elona confuses me.

But yeah I have no idea what you were looking at that suggested Kinu was a goddess in Elin lol.

I think I misinterpreted a picture of what looked like Kinu on the Kizunami page as said god. TBH I got dyslexia and it fucks with me and causes me to skim stuff and misread. It's partly why so many of my responses have me being unsure cause I'm never sure I read something right cause all just squishes together. Tricked teachers and me in elementary into believing I could speed read since they never tested my comprehension of what they put in front of me lol. But yeah that's on me.

Or maybe the Tobs salt has infected my brain, corrupted my pure and chaste mind, made me see Kinu as a busty goddess. Someone call an ambulance. I need 30cc ozempic injected into the singular wrinkle on my brain.

Might be an unpopular opinion. But as a petty ass individual myself.... I kinda respek it. Like I can't match that level of spite myself. Seems way too involved and time consuming. Especially to hold onto it that long. And as far as I know, had nothing to do with him. Like that's all weird.

But to be willing to tank it all just to spite folks?

I can remove myself a bit and recognize the artistry in the fuckery.
