The game should give you a "my girl's girlfriend ain't my business" perk because of this particular feat, and talking about the champion being the sidepiece, the funny thing is that you can still fuck with her with the game equivalent of a shitty etsy gag

The whole Liaden-Azzy thing wouldn't be so polarizing if it wasn't just suddenly a thing, like others have pointed out, before you can even begin the hive quest you gotta be friends with Azzy but Liaden just shows up and Azzy develops a lady boner for her out of no where, like they don't even have to put in the effort of fleshing out their relationship what they could do is state that they were already a thing and that Laiden left for a pilgrimage or some shit and had come back after hearing what happened to the hive to help, boom problem solved minimal effort. Hell if they wanted to put even a little bit of effort they could add a tiny little scene on how they met just to give the players a little context.

You know what would help the Azzy-Liaden thing? A scene beforehand establishing that Azzy is *lonely*. Out here doesn't operate like her hive and she doesn't have the network of relationships and support she has inside the hive. Establish that their relationships are often fluid and between groups of people and she really misses that vibe. Then BOOM, she meets Liaden, and it flows naturally from a problem that was already established.

That would be something... but then it's not like she's exactly alone with the rest of the party kicking about. Including the champ.

Still better than the actual result, even if the whole "find more people for the new hive thing" kinda screws it a bit.

That said, his armor was what made me think we'd have a bigger say on what happened with the rest of the crew besides emo and non-emo. Found out otherwise with the elf.

First time I played I was convinced the armor was going to kill him at the end or something, and that enough corruption would turn my champion into some kind of ultra sexual Konrad Curze, but nope.
