That, plus the dev's "power fantasy is bad" nonsense means that MC is always a chump instead of a champion.
Only NPCs can be champions. And in fact the authors all have their champion self inserts in the game whose power towers beyond the heaven.

For example, one of the dev's has an SI who is 9 feet tall and can 1 hit kill the final boss. He is explicitly better at sex than the MC, and explicitly has a bigger cock. The reason he doesn't single handedly beat the demon invasion is that he just doesn't care/view them as a threat.

What is the character's name? I don't remember meeting such a guy? What are the other champion self-inserts?

I probably have a very different take on the Azzy/Lia thing than most people in the thread to be honest. I don't see joining them any different than my character bringing Gia into my relationship with Bri for that threesome. To be fair I'd probably have the same reaction that others do if Azzy was chasing a male character, but not bringing one more woman into my big pile of lesbian fun.

I personally don't care if they bring a man or woman into my harem as long as I get to fuck them and show sexual superiority. However, I do agree that it could have been handled better.

You see it as salvaging spite. I see it as saving what little gems exist in these parts and giving them a chance to actually shine. The fact that there's nothing that unique about the Kitsunes is a boon in my book. It means I can't fuck them up any worse than they already are.

As others stated, it makes sense for Kitsunes to be somewhat closed off. While I don't think it makes sense for them to be a 1 to 1 expy for Imperial Japan, considering they don't even really act like Imperial Japan as that would be impossible given the setting. I do think they should at least resemble Japan. And part of that is a somewhat casual xenophobia.

Now, that doesn't mean they can't change their opinions on people. Once the Champ shows up and reveals they've got Kiyoko, and Keros vouched for them, they should at least not be outwardly hostile. With things improving more and more the you interact with them.

Constantly reminding you that you will never be one of them, while it makes sense for irl Japan, makes no sense in the context of Savarra, where their literal god has declared you to be a person of interest.

I can respect that and I appreciate that you've got an idea of what you enjoy out of life.
For me, I play games for fun, to feel good, to escape reality as much as possible. Be someone else, somewhere else, with far fewer problems, and ideally, no debts to pay. Really fantastical stuff right there, I know.

Though I will say, the argument that the unfun experience is justified because the real life equivalent is unfun strikes me as kind of silly. Don't we play fantasy games to get away from reality? (Maybe if it was narratively interesting examples of the reality of something suckin' eggs, like being impaled on a sword and dragging yourself through the mud and being shown how miserable that is- only to still somehow save the day and be appreciated and provided some first aid of some kind sooner rather than later. But the tepid frustration of social isolation and general disdain for my continued existence aren't really doing it for me. Not sure whose ideal fantasy that's supposed to be.)

I'm not sure if it's possible to write compelling xenophobic experiences for the player to go through, I think Dragon Age might have messed around with that with elves and mages? But I don't remember it leaving a strong positive impression.

Once, I browsed the old records about Kinu on this thread and someone posted that Tobs saw the player worrying about Kinu as emotional incest because it was about suppressing her or something, and because they had those issues in CoC1 with one character, he wanted to make a point using Kinu, that being the reason behind the whiplash from sweet kid you're helping grow up to the suicidal young woman who was abused by her mom and neglected by you, and then Kiyoko reverting into a mouth piece for Tobs like the other kitsunes telling you that leaving her learn on her own is actually cool and wholesome

In other words, he sperged, and it ain't like he had no reasons, Kinu is in a bunch of incestuous fics with the champ so the concept was there, but instead of muting those opinions and focus on having a healthy relationship with the fox daughter he took the dumbest approach and well, that's why Kinu is like that and you can do nothing to fix that...


I'm not a D&D players but saw one episode and found it boring, mostly seems like the kind of stuff you do with your friends and is fun like that, but if you're not part of it, is boring, really, really boring. It was mostly OCs being the main character and doing sex stuff so, yeah, like CoC2 but in audiobook format

Oh yeah I remember that. I played that game, it was very shit. A child of Hel or Ember that got away from the champ of the first game and became a blacksmith. They talked a lot of shit about them. In a game where there is corruption, unwanted rape, death, dick worms, dick demons, breast possessing demons, eggs being laid into anuses, the list goes on, incest is too far?
