Surprisingly the mc in the ntr edits is also a bland empty space with zero personality, I guess for the same purpose to self insert the reader

I can't get why you're not able to recruit her if you don't recruit the wolves (let's be real, there's a not so small chance we both know what content her future holds) but, it makes perfect sense why you can't recruit her if you genderbend them. Given that body-altering corruption is the reason she has a bone to pick with the wizard who ballooned her out, it makes perfect sense for her to not go under the roof of a person who was more than willing to do what happened to her to others.

It could be recency bias (probably not given that my default setting is negative). But I liked the work Tobs did.

After the contribution to Drifa proper, this was honestly surprising.
No way of telling how much of that was deliberate or just Tobs naturally continuing to improve as a writer. That there was a Tobs sex scene where my eyes didn't glaze over obviously is novel. Though it still has the obvious flow of other various adult medium in places it's not as instantly brain shaking as the word Tomboy being used seven (7) times in one sex scene for Isadora.

Eh, I prefer bland protagonists with neutral dialogue. Makes it easier than putting words in the player's mouth. If you're gonna give them the harem treatment and all that jazz, you might as well give them the wriggle room to imagine they said thing how they wanted to say it. Or how they wanted their character to say it.

You do it any other way and you get schizophrenic shit like Corruption of Champions where EVERYONE has a different idea of what they want the Champion to be. So unless it's a one guy team, an established character or something along those lines, it's better to just leave them a blank slate in my opinion. Let the player have some imagination.

Korean Manhwa is always laughable, though. I swear, I read better Gary Stu in the 2000's from 15 year olds.

I'd say they're all just as bad just for different reasons. the savco tobs characters are constantly changing the way they're written and have too many protagonists vying for the title of super protagonist. Disjointed writing is just as bad as bland writing. And they've made some generic to infuriating characters like those in generic light novels with excessively long titles. Just look at Nakano and Leofric.

If I see another article about how an aura farming, poorly and boringly written, Gary Stu, bully hunter fulfills his author's middle school revenge fantasy is anime of the year I'm gonna continue to be as annoyed about it as I already am.

Anyways Tobs shows a surprising amount of restraint this time around.
Outside of the obvious mistakes

and some repeating phrase the only thing that really stuck out (beyond the flow of one of the sex scenes) was the usual tobs tendencies of having a character toss a proverb only for another to state a fact of life which makes the other acquiesce. But hell, that's just noticing a trend. Not really negative.

Surprisingly speaks in a voice that's slightly different than the tobs usual. Though there's still that~
hmm... I guess we'll call it 'lucid introspection' that shows up in nearly every single character Tobs has worked on.

Like that one about fantasy France (Lescatie) being hyped up as this important and powerful major faction, only to then get Thanos Snapped out of existence by a single succubus. Not even a particularly powerful succubus or a demon lord's underling, just your average mid-game miniboss. There's entire hordes of monsters which are leagues above her on the scales of power.
The most insulting part isn't even all that. It's that there's hundreds of succibi just like one that can solo strongest human nations, and they all do what exactly? The lore insinuates (and sometimes states outright) that they all are busy either developing weapons of mass destruction (country-wide demonification spells) or actively conquering human nations that still remain. And yet, literally none of it matters, and gets brushed off to the side in new books.

It's literally the most basic newbie writer pitfall. Creating antire races and sub-races of Mary Sues, and then trying to justify how the world at large (aside a couple exceptions) is still the same as it was a thousand years ago when the apocalypse began.

Let's be real, we've all been there, its just about not staying there is what separates trash from mining gold.

Even the skeleton soldier who couldn't protect the dungeon was good despite having almost every korean manhwa thing with the status screens and the harem, (including the warlock dude who corrupted a whole temple of virgin maidens because he was bored)

Gweyr is straight up a Manhwa bitch. Kicks all that ass, kills all of those kids and can easily kill Tollus but doesn't. Then you're supposed to say she was right or she's a monster, but still right. Fuck off with that. Then there's that Phoenix companion for obvious reasons. I think it's been said any of these companions would save the world, you're just the one that they decided to follow for inexplicable reasons. You are the worst form of harem protagonist in any manga or anime, you are useless. Yet everyone wants to bang you for some reason and follow your lead.

And again, that is because... for the fifteen thousandth time... you are not allowed to have a power fantasy and because of that it completely destroys any functional narrative the game has. I guarantee if they were left to their own devices, not obligated to write up a champion or to appease a playerbase enough to keep it, they'd be writing Manhwas of their characters that even the Koreans would point and laugh at as Mary Sues.

For all the hatred Urta ever got... this crew is something else. I feel there's more examples rattling in my brain, but I genuinely stopped caring for more than half of the companions and definitely more than two thirds of the NPCs because of what they turned into. So I would really have to dig in there to get it.

I dunno how much you keep up with him, but a lot of the sex scenes with him are focused on him. He's the star -- although, admittedly, that's not unique to him in this game. Especially as development goes on. Even Elthara gets a special pregnant portrait just for him. It was already pointed out here you can be a Minotaur, make yourself just like Brint and you won't get that portrait without editing file names.

I figured he was a bro, which he started out as, but as development went on he just became another super special OC. He gets special privileges that you don't. And yeah, the world is pretty corrupted already, but the point stands that when you read his shit it's basically Gaston. Everything is about Gaston. NO ONE FUCKS LIKE GASTON~.

It's fine if you don't see it, either, these types of things are largely a threshold thing. I'm more sensitive to this kind of writing since I've read some pretty dreadful shit, but I can see the patterns. I know the numbers and what they mean. If it doesn't bother you, that's fine, keep enjoying the character. I'm not here to change minds, I'm just speaking strictly from a literary standpoint.

I don't know why half of the companions like the champion enough to tag around, with Etheryn I get it, Kiyoko too to a certain degree because then she does have a bunch of kits and I'm not feeling like taking her with me or why she would want to go with me, because being den mother is her thing. Wasp girl is just a bad point in general, Cait has no reason to stay after building her temple, she may like you, but she likes everyone else too, old bird woman thinks you're interesting?, welp she got that going on, Atugia... Yeah, same as Viv. Arona likes you and she's an orc. Brienne was cursed with endless libido for you, Brint was blessed with endless libido for everyone. I think I got them all, and yeah, like half of them are there for inertia

Eh, supposedly you were supposed to cure his alcoholism and he was gonna get monogamous with Azami. You were basically playing matchmaker and helping him get through his addiction. I think he still ends up fucking the Priestesses, because fox degeneracy, but ultimately he'd be paired with Azami. That said, he got more and more bitter as people hated the character so he probably would have cranked that shit up after you cured his alcoholism.

That was Wsan's method. For every dom/domme he'd put in the game, he'd add a submissive character. It's why he was a fan favorite for so long, the dude put effort into everything and didn't mind making stuff the audience wanted. I think it kept him sane, because he's more or less been focusing on his futa-domme fascination and it's starting to affect his quality.

I dunno how much you keep up with him, but a lot of the sex scenes with him are focused on him. He's the star -- although, admittedly, that's not unique to him in this game. Especially as development goes on. Even Elthara gets a special pregnant portrait just for him. It was already pointed out here you can be a Minotaur, make yourself just like Brint and you won't get that portrait without editing file names.

Schrodinger's Minotaur. Now matter how tall or hung or literal mythical bull monster like the player is, Brint is always bigger unless observed. He's like Gaston but he eats an extra dozen eggs a day.

Anyway, I'm glad we didn't get the ultimate manhwa protagonist with one of Bubble's ocs, you know the drunk kitsune guy was bound to become an assassin level +SSS with the ultimate ability deemed useless by everyone else, [Cultivation of the strongest], which allows him to employ his extra 9999999999+ points of experience to summon ancient lost magic, and the true blade of the darkness path, oiled with gnome semen, so you know is good. Also, your character was the false hero, and he'll save the world as soon as you fuck up and your harem leaves you, (he'll forgive them because he's good ok?, he deserves Kiyoko and Kinu and the other fox bitch whatever her name is), any day now...

I feel irrationally angry reading that because it's so accurate. And there are even good isekai they could've drawn inspiration from tropes from. Not manhwa though. I can't believe I'm saying this but tobs should've gatekept the kitsune harder and spared us from that dumb drunk kitsune.

It may just be personal preference but I feel Wsan's futadomme content is still better than savin's and others.
