I dunno how much you keep up with him, but a lot of the sex scenes with him are focused on him. He's the star -- although, admittedly, that's not unique to him in this game. Especially as development goes on. Even Elthara gets a special pregnant portrait just for him. It was already pointed out here you can be a Minotaur, make yourself just like Brint and you won't get that portrait without editing file names.

Anyway, I'm glad we didn't get the ultimate manhwa protagonist with one of Bubble's ocs, you know the drunk kitsune guy was bound to become an assassin level +SSS with the ultimate ability deemed useless by everyone else, [Cultivation of the strongest], which allows him to employ his extra 9999999999+ points of experience to summon ancient lost magic, and the true blade of the darkness path, oiled with gnome semen, so you know is good. Also, your character was the false hero, and he'll save the world as soon as you fuck up and your harem leaves you, (he'll forgive them because he's good ok?, he deserves Kiyoko and Kinu and the other fox bitch whatever her name is), any day now...

I feel irrationally angry reading that because it's so accurate. And there are even good isekai they could've drawn inspiration from tropes from. Not manhwa though. I can't believe I'm saying this but tobs should've gatekept the kitsune harder and spared us from that dumb drunk kitsune.

That was Wsan's method. For every dom/domme he'd put in the game, he'd add a submissive character. It's why he was a fan favorite for so long, the dude put effort into everything and didn't mind making stuff the audience wanted. I think it kept him sane, because he's more or less been focusing on his futa-domme fascination and it's starting to affect his quality.

That's what happened with Saruman, he dwelled far too long into the dark arts of the enemy (not sure if Saruman was into elf/orc chicks with dick too, maybe)

Lowkey starting to regret I did in my latest playthrough tbh. Dude literally serves no useful purpose in the party, his randomly proccing scenes are straight up annoying and such writing as he now has is pretty terrible even by this game's standards.

The worldbuilding is good when the setting doesn't try to pretend to be something it isn't. The problem is that the author himself puts a lot of effort into that pretense.

MGE is about hot monster girls commiting reverse rape until Stockholm Syndrome kicks in, leading to a Bad End masquerading as Happily Ever After. The setting stays cohesive and interesting whenever it keeps that concept as its kinky guiding star

Happened multiple times, across different forums. In one of those I got compared to Hitler several times, for quoting the ingame lines(!!!) about demons being the ones invading human world* and cleansing all human life from territories they managed to occupy.
Self-righteous conviction is one hell of a drug, I guess.
*Because most monsters in Shrift are actual demons who come from actual hell. With only a couple of exceptions.

The two games where the woman transforms into a demon also don't do it any favor. Tickles the morbid part of my brain. But you hear about the couple from the second game and it seemed like they worked out so I guess it's still consistent.

Knowing the purpose of the setting "a place where everybody eventually finds their soulmate," I'll suspend more than the usual amount of disbelief and stop asking questions. Clumsy the execution ultimately is, it's hard for me to want to throw tomatoes at a world somebody earnestly created where even the biggest loser finds true(coughdon'tthinkaboutit) love.

Hard disagree, the bland protagonist is a staple because you can turn him around using your themes and the nature of work. Shinji from Evangelion is bland harem protag material but because Hideaki Anno isn't writing harem scholp he gets put to different use, Renten from Eureka Seven is built to have that energy but again it what the writers does with the character.

I think I got them all, and yeah, like half of them are there for inertia

I've been playing Look Outside and the way in which it does party members are the most non-interference way I've seen party members executed since Fear and Hunger. This is how you do party members if you can't do it the Fallout New Vegas way I feel.
They don't comment or even intervene on the events happening in the game world but they are a result of what happened and they have companion moments at the home base.
Another series I think does companions well are those from the Tales series, where upon get companion moments out in the world that develop them outside standard cutscenes.

For all the hatred Urta ever got... this crew is something else. I feel there's more examples rattling in my brain, but I genuinely stopped caring for more than half of the companions and definitely more than two thirds of the NPCs because of what they turned into. So I would really have to dig in there to get it.

Urta was really only villainized due to a community perceived slight in handling donation funds, how long Fen spent on that quest, and her "threesome setup" with Amily is just being you getting cucked by Urta and walking in on them raw dogging. The entire thing was obviously a bad idea to literally everybody but Fen and the writer whose names eludes me right now .

Urta herself wasn't like some shining beacon of morality or perseverance. She was a drunk who sometimes made bad decisions with a loada character flaws. I never really disliked her probably because of those flaws.

I and, I think, most people just tell him to piss off when he appears since everyone either hates the character or hates bubble's weird need to make random mandatory scenes to fellate his OCs. Or both.

I'm expecting another Liaden or wasp quest where there's a decent reward but we're "encouraged" to give it to them for tagging along or because some weird rule dictates only one of those two can use it. Seems on brand at this point.
