You know, it's funny I play a game with a butthurt dev while I play a game that is both power fantasy and will absolutely pop your balls if you don't know what you're doing. Between random bouts of CoC I've also been playing Elin, by the crackhead dev who made Elona. The blue and white one CrimsonSongbird mentioned is Murasaki, and her whole thing is that she's basically fucking immortal and unkillable with quick regeneration capability. Well in the bad ending of Taimanin Asagi 3, the bad guys reshape her body into a fucking cube, meaning no matter how much she regens, she stays a living Tetris block.

Yes. They are kinda retarded like that. I do believe it was originally suppose to be a good game, but they decided half-way to change it to fit their dnd stuff. Which is why it has the bones of something vaguely interesting.

Why they hate it?, power fantasy does not mean bad writing or low quality, man, such wasted potential.

Because the main writer isn't flexible at all and wants the narrative to go in a certain way but is still very bad at even making that narrative so he mixes elements that promote power fantasy while not wanting it. He patched a boss fight you were able to win with a certain build to ensure you would absolutely lose. Instead of rewarding the player for engaging with the combat system, he punishes the player instead. If this is how he directs a game, I really wish him luck on his future coc3 novel or whatever the fuck.

To point B, this is directly at odds with his own game. You don't earn shit, you get told you ain't shit and the game world will be just fine without you. Additionally neither point takes into account him and his friends indulging their own power fantasies through their characters having everything go their way and only have good things happen to them and recieve things without earning them or the earning effort being on the player's end.

Calling back to the bubblelord's Takahiro whose quest requires you to help convince him he's the bee's knees, then kill Azami's dad because he didn't approve them being together. Then you can suck his dick or whatever when he starts impregnating everyone in the fox den. He literally fits their motif of a non-power fantasy npc.

Seed of chaos but right now it is more about being a servant and a lot of NTR stuff so meh.

I like the game and It does feel frustrating but it has the building blocks of something great in it. Like you definetely can slowly build your alliances with people more loyal to you then the twins. Especially when you make it clear they you are much better at their job then they are just by being yourself, cuz holy shit are the Twins the most shoe-in mouth motherfuckers ever when it comes to power-plays.

Furthermore there's the narrative problem of your champion being the focus of the history and possible savior of these furry monsters while also being told that the role of the champion is not that important, while the other important people do almost nothing. Being represented as someone weak in front of the world is not the issue, is the poor execution, is Tollus getting away like a cartoon villain every time you are close to finish him, is having Tollus as the de facto main bad guy when he possess zero aura to carry the role, while the real bad guy oscillates between loving girlfriend and Mao Ze Futa Dong

Yeah, nothing makes sense. Even though it isn't a power fantasy we are thrusted into power fantasy roles if you are being logical. If they wanted to make things more grounded and less dependant on the champion they should actually have other people actively doing shit. I remember in Tits there is a quest where the dog place gets into a fight with these cat people and you can see the dog people putting up a good fight, freeing some of them has a chance of them joining in to help you fight or them running into them scrapping with the cats. Captain whats-his-name is doing anything and he's a champion, hell I don't even remember what it means to be a champion in the game because our characters aren't choosen by a god or anything, who made us champion again? Speaking of gods, still the worst fucking choice to make the gods so powerful because it should mean that no threat should matter but they get plot-nerfed to be apathic and stupid. Why would Lumia not tell her fellow gods about the wraith trying to take over her, also why is it able to do that? How fuck wraiths are dangerous but selfdom used so meh. The writing is bipolar as fuck because it both is and isn't a power fantasy. It definetely isn't a dark fantasy or makes you struggle unnessarily, just a bunch of shit is needlessly tedious, like combat procs.

Yes, Himmel did indeed basically propose to her with ring in hand, though I forget if he was kneeling for it or not. Frieren, unless I'm badly misremembering, accepts the ring, but like, as a gift, without realizing the significance of it, what Himmel was asking, or any of what was going on in the moment. Though some part of her must've known, cause she kept that ring and even gets somewhat depressed during a chapter were she loses it temporarily.

I imagine it'll end with Frieren getting closure and either living on to guide the families of her friends and humanity, or sacrificing herself to save those she cares about but being reunited with Himmel in the afterlife while her legacy and knowledge persist.

Kind of like How Berserk will almost inevitably have a tragic to bittersweet ending, assuming it's ever finished after the author died, Frieren will almost inevitably have an uplifting ending to some degree.

One can only hope, but it'll be taking quite a while before we see it. Between the current hiatus and the fact it already had a slow update schedule; who knows if it'll finish in our lifetimes lol

Yeah, that's presumably what happened. If their reasoning to not accept it was that there were some mistakes here and there, then you'd imagine that a fixed version would get the go ahead. I'd say I'm looking forward to that predictably not getting in because Savin can't just get out of the way of anything good, but that would require me caring for this project in any way besides it hurrying the fuck on so we can mod it to bits.

Honestly my problem isn't so much that people got together and tried again to get the doc in, I don't know who did it or what editing/changes may have been made so I'll reserve judgement, it's that snide ass response from Savin that is the problem. It's messed up that he refers to some community writers and their work in such a way when they're providing free labor and he's all too happy to run people off and cannibalize their work or decide that if it includes his fetishes then it's perfect.

Savin can't claim "quality" when his and his golden boi's writings are bereft of quality or proof reading.

I mean... I hope Oreo gets credit since they're literally building on top of what he wrote, it would only be fair. But this is CoC2, so I wouldn't be surprised if they fuck it up somehow.

That's what I said. I think it's something that holds back the potential of some works, but I definitely think it fits in some cases. Like old as fuck Doom. Not as silly as it is today, but a human going apeshit against demons is still fantastical enough. And I like Fallout, Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I just don't think not being focused on power fantasy or being against it is the reason the game is so bad. TiTS is a power fantasy and I'd say it has a bunch of problems, despite how much I like it. Notice how people constantly shit on TiTS about futas. It would be the same thing here. There would be something else for people to latch on to. Probably futas, too.

And again, it's a porn game. Power fantasy is fucking fine, expected even. It's all about wish fulfillment. I just said that I agree with Savin about not liking it and some tribalistic clowns (not everyone I replied to) took it personally.

I feel people would care less about it if that wasn't Savco's excuse for the generally (would say universally, but there's always their fan camp) questionable choices and options. Maybe the problem starts at the point where writers have their own little characters they manage as if it was their own property, which naturally means there's a decent chance they'll grow to be protective of their characters, choosing to put them over others.

So naturally, it clashes with the player character, who naturally doesn't have anyone to back them. Savin then rationalizes that as defending against a player power fantasy... but that's just turned so that the writers can have their own power fantasies through their OCs. Not every character there is like that, of course, some people did get the memo that the characters should exist in correlation with the reasoning and urgency of the player character. But the ones that don't are usually incredibly aggravating about it, so people get more annoyed.

If they really want to make this work, either do something good with them or fit them accordingly to a setting where the player character actually gets to do stuff. Zero sense on having a world where the player character can still go and do major shit while still being treated like crap because "oooh, Tobs' OC number 4 is so powerful", then only have it shown through them beating the PC.

Want to impress the player? Have them undo the mess they're living around.

Honestly I don't hate it, (even with the reservation that it's essentially just a copy of the Kiyoko story hook)
But it genuinely is just another bloat update. We couldn't even wait until her bust was ready before shipping her out? Surely it would have been better instead of having Moira work on the Agni alt set bust nobody is gonna see considering it only appears in her combat icon -- assuming you even have her recruited in the first place.

Mine's a medication side effect but I have the exact same issue it's more annoying than anything. I wish I had the fun hallucinations at this point. I've had it sound like coworkers calling me too. It changes depending on setting.

I think I still remember what his "plans" for a third CoC-style game not in that 'verse would be even assuming he didn't make that VN but it was no doubt a longass fucking time ago and likely only in the OG Fengame server which was more cluttered to go through than my damn room on a lazy day from what I remember. And I'm banned there via my own voluntary violation (don't ask), so not like I can try to scrounge that place to check. I think it came before the VN idea and he was gonna shoehorn the protag/PC in that idea as mandatory futa to play as. There's other details I'm not sure about that I swear I still remember but can't say for certain yet, so I can't say if what I recall is still accurate.

What's funny is I don't hate the idea of a smaller story game, I mean literally look at fanfiction and the fact that at its core it's small stories usually done in a universe from a game or movie or whatever media. But Sav. & Co have no good record of being able to really tell a consistent story that doesn't have ragebaiting or whatever. VNs still need you to be able to flex your storytelling abilities AND stay on track, so even if TFs were nuked out entirely, you'd still have to account for branching path ideas around every corner even if they all lead to some form of different ending. Like you can still be railroaded to an extent bc VNs are of limited scope of how they end via the endings you can unlock, but it's still in nature determined by player choice to some level, which the dude and his pet are allergic to.
