Damn, it was already leaked? thought it would resist for a week or two.
Cosy can't even do a steam release to compensate.
Great update, as usual. felt like it had less content than the previous update, but that one was special for obvious reasons.
it's still quite substantial.
Chose to replay from the start, just to remake all the saves, thanks to the 9 slots per page now. But it was a pleasure to dive back in.
Misaki
's plot was a surprise. when MC says the "thing", it becomes obvious that it's a "oh shit" moment, but I was expecting the reveal to be as planned. it gives Misaki much more depth and builds her motivation. Can't wait to see her confidence explode after she can rely on MC's firm support. I thought he would mention it to Alison, though. and surprisingly, she is the only one for whom he hasn't ask for explicit permission from the others that late into the relationship.
I also expected MC to
tell Hannah about what he learnt from her father about the Bennett's downfall. With Catherine's permission (which would be hard to get considering their constant antagonistic encounters), it could help put them on "even" grounds, and introduce some compassion and understanding from Hannah towards Catherine, and Catherine could start separating Hannah from her father's decisions. But the dual punition scene was great! especially the end.
Seems like MC still can't bring himself to drop the L word for his main girls. I guess it's still less than a month since the start of the game, and even less since the start of the actual relationships.
But quite glad MC finally
resolved himself to take matters in his own hands and reconcile Alison and her dad. He is right that winning over Mr Gilbert through trust rather than deceipt will be much better in the long run, especially if he wants to offload the majority of his FF responsibilities. And I'm sure it would cement Alison's true loyalty towards him for good. And he needs that from each of the FF girls, if his grandfather's downfall is to be at least useful to him.
Trying to get Regi would be fun too. he seems to enjoy good cooking, he might have some kind of secret usefulness to MC's growth in cooking
There is something that strikes me when I saw the bios. Lily is 35. her husband is 20 years older than her. but Sarah is 18. so she was pregnant at 16, and gave birth at 17. She was a minor when she became a mother. But if she was a political marriage, from Hannah's experience, I thought Lily should have been a full adult after graduation at least before getting married or knocked up. So, was it a power play ? was it political ? or maybe she made a mistake at a young age, and Mr Hamilton saved her, and Sarah is not a true Hamilton by blood ? that could explain why she is so different and ostracized from the family. And honestly, Sarah looks more like a young Alison... she has all the traits of the Gilbert family, even her personality.
I will say, Lucy's story gives me a nagging feeling in the back of my head, like it borders on problematic. Is she wanting this or does she feel like she has to do it. Which I am not saying that her as a LI is bad or her story is bad, more just makes me think is all. I doubt I could navigate that type of a relationship... I'd always feel like I was taking advantage of the person. But that is part of the appeal, there is a bit more to the characters then what I might have initially thought and is
Lucy left a toxic abusive relationship for a dependency on MC, for sure. but MC doesn't take advantage of it or abuse it at all. instead, he uses it to push her towards who she can be, to bloom and grow into an incredible woman at her own pace. and by the end, that dependency will be gone.
Rachel is just misguided. She actually wanted the attention from the MC but because she doesn't believe she can get it, she decides to look down on the whole situation so she can feel less bad about being left out. In the end, she just wants love. We all do.
I think there are some hints that she secretly wants to participate. She may not even be aware of that desire on a conscious level, but I think slowly she will realize it and we will get to watch her transform. I very much look forward to it. The more the merrier!
there are hints that she has a rape fantasy too.
and that she is the one that took the ticket book and "won". and she might want to use it to be part of the group.
I can see her as being the mistress of the house
She is already. MC pushes her to lead since the beginning, and every girl defers to MC's judgement, but also respects Lucy enough to not abuse her power, given her personality, and to lead them for the family's and MC's best interests. how that will turn into a firm hand to guide the family against their rivals in the future will be interesting.
Can't wait for the
next FF council where she is sure to show some signs of that potential
The one that gives me pause is Catherine. I confess his treatment feels harsh sometimes. And I like her pluck.
she was explicitly told she can say no and quit at any time twice already. it's only as harsh as she can take it because she is so stubborn and proud
it awakens her inner masochist too, and she is beginning to open up to it consciously. her power tips might hide a bit of a sadist side too. would be interesting to see how it will mesh in the harem or if she can enjoy it on MC even though he is so dominant.
just like Sarah's "idiot", Catherine's pride and pluck should stay and become part of her dynamic with MC. I don't think he will break those traits as they are part of who she is.
I was thinking it was a possibility before, but am pretty sure Rachel was the one who stole the ticket book now. Since it's probably not a rando, and the rest of the non-Fletcher's characters wouldn't have the opportunity to handle it. Plus the fact that she's the only character we've met that has had their access to Fletcher's revoked. This is probably old and well discussed but I haven't been active in the forums in a bit.
yes, it's one of the most supported theory in this thread for the ticket book's fate
if it ends up being someone else, it would be a massive surprise for most players. and choosing a random person would be a disappointing cop out
Any chance we could/will be moving characters from the "side" category to "main"? I quite like Annabelle. She's gorgeous, and I love her white hair.
I think I remember seeing that being discussed several times a few updates back. Annabelle seems to be on a "maybe" list
but at this point, we need more scenes with her because she is barely more present than Samantha. And before Annabelle, Akari and Elizabeth need tons of development too.
I did notice something odd about ages that wasn't Annabelle.
Elizabeth Russell is listed as 20. Yet Alison notes that they're kinda friends and have been acquainted for awhile. Alison is 27. That seems an implausible spread. I would've pegged Elizabeth as closer to her age, maybe 25 at least.
they both engaged in the same circles and were forced to attend. they both grew up as rebellious teens, even if Alison did it years before. So they naturally grew to get closer even with the age gap, compared to all the two faced manipulators and sycophants they were forced to socialize with.
If every VN can give players options to skip to the newest update content at the game start like this one, then saves compatibility won't be a problem.
would only be easy work for kinetic VNs. as it's just a jump to the new update label.
would be tough for normal ones. they would need to ask the player for every choice that was made before at the start of every update. some games do it at the start of new "seasons" if the player doesn't have a save from the previous one.
