Idk what it is, but this just doesnt hit the same as Mist for me. Just feels like everything is slightly worse than the last game.

For me, the girls are all less attractive. The story is less compelling and interesting of a mystery. The minigames are less fun and more annoying to play. And it might just be me misremembering but the renders just seem...less crisp?

That honestly seems like nostalgia filter bias.
Like, I LOVE MIST and there are things about it that I do like more than CoM, but to say that it is worse than MIST in all categories is something I personally don't agree with.

Maybe it's cuz I spend A LOT of time seeing what devs do to see what I can learn from them, but there is an objectively clear bump in overall quality between projects.

I won't argue about things like what you find more compelling narratively or what girls you find to be more attractive bc that's purely subjective and I'll simply agree to disagree on those things if I'm so inclined.
But, as someone who 'has' been following the game from the beginning bc I loved MIST I feel like I have to be more objectively critical about the stuff I like.

I'll agree that the game has some polishing to go yet, but it's been a good ride so far.
Now, question.
What, exactly and objectively do you find 'less compelling' here than in MIST when the narrative has a pointedly stronger focus right from the beginning?
Do you feel less invested in the revenge plot?
Less invested in helping them?
Do you find the characters less interesting overall? Why?

I personally like the cast and the narrative myself, but hey. I'm not one to be too affected by things like nostalgia bias as a lot of ppl seem to be. I just look at things case by case and keep the comparisons to an absolute minimum unless I have to. Not a fan of that unless they are sequels part of the same series or to see if they have improved as a dev.
On the latter point, I would say they have. Or, at the very least, I can see the effort they're putting in to improve their craft.

So regarding new content in this update, where exactly is the new section in the dungeon (By dungeon, I'm guessing, is the veil, connected from Kitchen to the theatre?).

Tried exploring the Veil with Moran but no such luck.
A lot of areas in the veil seems to just say "work in progress", and I can't find the new section.
Not to mention the first interrogation and clues, not seeing them (either that, or I'm not looking in the right places lol).

Normally I like to try out the game on my own without any help, but for this game at times, ngl I wish there was a walkthrough.

Interesting, Moran has another date but it does not seem to be accessible in game. Is it bugged or unfinished?

It is at night and did you have enough date point to unlock it? I had no problem playing it. I started fresh this update though so it might also be bugged for existing saves.

The new section of the dungeon is on the other side of the docks. To reach it you need to interrogate Kevin. The clues are scattered around the village. you will get them after interrogating people and rummaging a bit.

Honestly I was thinking that the hint system was better here than for Mist since I havent seen as many people say that they are stuck, but there isn't as much content yet.

Talking about that I found some typos and bugs

Honestly probably because I see the first female of the game and instantly think of a knock off 2b cosplay and it instantly turns me off of what she says.

Story wise I just find it significantly more interesting to be in an earth adjacent world when something starts going wrong and you have to leave your safe house and explore what is going on in the world, rather than being dropped off in a fantasy realm where a girl needs to ride you to try getting you to side with her.

Mist had me wondering whats going on with the fog and where its coming from right from the get go, where this makes me feel like i've already played the game with the female character offering sex to get the MCs help solve her problem.

I see.
Well, that's all less the game being objectively inferior and just a matter of none of what this game is this time just not checking any boxes for you.

Like, okay, yes... Enna does seem to be visually inspired by 2B, but if that's what turns you off, then I'll just agree to disagree simply bc I do find 2B hot as hell... but more than that, and white hair aside, she's actually blind and it makes sense for her to cover her eyes.

Same goes for the story. Like, I like the mystery of it all regardless of how that's presented. It just needs to be done well.
For you, that's clearly not the case, but I'm more willing to accept the story as it's being presented even if that's partly bc I like fantasy settings too.

Also, Enna isn't 'offering' us sex so much as we, the MC, 'needs' sex to live. She isn't forcing us to help her and explicitly asks for our help. Granted, the nature of the contract involves sex, but let's be real... this is a porn game and it's not like other games haven't done this same thing before either... and less tastefully even. Frankly, I've seen worse examples and this ranks nowhere near bad. Also, lest we forget, we kinda needed to have sex to live in MIST too. So, in that sense, nothing's changed and even feels a bit different, given the context why it happened.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but subjective preferences aside, none of the criticisms sound anything more than superficial in the 'why's'.

You might be thinking of night 4 date, this would be date 5. It does show a line connecting to where it should be, but not the actual square.
The next date is a WIP and will come out in the next version, I already changed the graphic that connects the dates in testing and forgot to turn it back for the 0.3.3 release.

The DS3 Firekeeper was actually the main visual reference I used for Enna, that's also where the little capelett comes from. But I don't mind 2B comparisons either, their hair is quite similar : D

Don't worry. I immediately thought firekeeper when I first saw her; I was sure of it after I found out she was blind. I am a huge Dark Souls fan so it was nice to see. 2B actually never even crossed my mind, they don't really resemble one another.

I can see DS3 Firekeeper (best Firekeeper btw), what with being blind and the overall vibe of the game reminding me of a FAR LESS soul crushingly dark Soulslike inspired aesthetic. Something MIST had too, though more with the world than the characters. Here it's a bit more pronounced throughout.
