Sorry, I'm just quite bad with irony and basically everything that requires to think. But yeah, I don't understand why Vertigo lied about this update, everything turned out to be the exact opposite of what he promised to people who allow him to have everything he has, giving him their money in the hope that he will not let them down. No, i was being ironic. Still strange when the dev said that the whole update is done but will be released in 2 parts. As far as I remember at least. You must be registered to see the links
Well, maybe if we had had all the infos in addition to the pic...:
" Additional Info:
15% sounds like not a lot, but fret not. It's 15% of the remaining work, not 15% of the overall update. "
Not really:Still strange when the dev said that the whole update is done but will be released in 2 parts. As far as I remember at least.
Yes, that is true.Not really:
" And speaking of Part 2:
It shouldn't take too long after Part 1 has been released to get it out, too, though I'm not giving any estimates for a release date yet. I've learned my lesson. "
And then 2 days after the public release of Part 1, he took a break until the end of the year, so he is back working on the game for 15 days now.
Again, it's not 15% of the update done, but 15% remaining. So it's pretty much on point with what he said if we have an update before the end of the month.Yes, that is true. However "it shouldn't take too long" and "15% done" are basically contradictory statements. Especially since it took months for Part 1 to come out. So I can understand where this idea came from.
I find it highly amusing that in the very post he claims to have learned his lesson about setting expectations, he created more false hope and miscommunication.
Now yes, the way he used the 15% is actually weird.maybe change the wording to "15% left " or 85% ? The fact he specifically used a way smaller number is just weird. But hey, the way he talks to his fans i´m sure this is just entitled talk since i´m not paying a cent for this project anymore, as long as he continues his milking scheme instead of actually progressing the story.
Yeah that's on me. I should have read the source you posted just above. But as we all agree, it's really weird. He used the exact same type of picture to display how much was completed, but has now randomly changed it to what is "remaining".Now yes, the way he used the 15% is actually weird.
Just hoping that he'll return to a monthly update from now on...Yeah that's on me. I should have read the source you posted just above. But as we all agree, it's really weird. Again, massive communication fumble. I've made plenty of them myself, sure, but never when I'm speaking directly to a consumer, where my income is on the line. It's like he's trying to be inept for some reason.
Sorry for double posting, but yeah, why is he so mad at you asking about a feature that's common in most VNs? I know the game's story is super important and choices and all of that, but is there not a way to implement a cheap "I did this or that" system if that's the case? I don't even think that'd matter anyways, it's been too many updates since a choice you made matters and that "matters" was really moreso dialogue than actual story divergence. God forbid you have an option to jump to the newest update in a game where the last year or so of progress has taken place in the timespan of 2 days at a hotelAm I missing something or was my comment rude?
from what i´ve gathered, MC won´t return to his home. The Hotel is his new home, so to speak. It´s more fitting anyway with all the people following him around. And this way they are at least at the same spot and not scattered throughout the city. Although... I wouldn´t put it past the dev to manage and make a simple trip to a different floor an update worth of content...I'm hoping the next major update moves on from the hotel stuff. It seems like ever since MC's house got destroyed, the story went from a slow burn to a filler episode on a soap opera. The beach hotel already felt out of place, but it's really starting to feel like the dev is running out of ideas for the story and I'm hoping something actually happens (besides cockteasing lore info and introducing more one-off story characters)
Yeah that's the real problem here. As much as I think monthly releases are a good schedule, if that's the best he can scrape together in a single month, then perhaps he needs to spend more time story-boarding. Honestly that's the part that takes me the longest in the creative process. Once I have a general idea the rest is easy. Though not everyone can write extemporaneously like I can, and it's not without its flaws. Without knowing the devs writing process, I can't say any more as to why the game keeps having these lackluster updates. Only that it really needs to stop or its gonna die a slow, sad death.Although... I wouldn´t put it past the dev to manage and make a simple trip to a different floor an update worth of content...

I agree. It's already hard to bring 4-6 girls into a story and not make it a mess, but here MC has what, 15-20 girls? At least potential LIs. That's what doesn't let this game to develop, he spends too much time with the girls instead of looking for answers.Too, many, girls... The original cast was/is great. Please. Who cares about Random Demon Girl #24. More Kana!
