Crimson High v0.45 - Dev Log #1
G'day everyone!
Me again with another dev log, this time it's really only going to be a short one. I think.
As you've probably already noticed, this log's title mentions v0.45 and not v0.44 part 2. Now, you might be wondering why that is. Or maybe not, I dunno. But anyway, it's the same update (i.e. part 2) but for organizational purposes, I'm just going to call it v0.45. Not really much to it.
------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, let's talk about the next update, then. Some of you may have already read it on the Discord, but the update isn't going to come out before the holidays anymore. In fact, I've decided to not work on it at all before the holidays. Instead, I'm taking the rest of the month off for some solid R&R - cause let me tell you, that's sorely needed. (It's also why this dev log doesn't have a different title image, even though it's technically about a new update. I hope you don't mind!)
Near the end of making v0.44 (part 1) I've noticed some effects that I really didn't like. Most of them stress- and tension-related. And since deciding to postpone the update until after the holidays, I've already seen some big improvements with these things. I think the (self-made) pressure of wanting to get the update done and done well got to me more than I expected, which, to me, is just another reason to never do a big update like this again. So, yeah, come the new year, we'll finish the trip to Kuro's estate, then go back to the usual update length and rhythm. If I'll do any experiments with update length again (and that's a big 'if'), they'll go in the opposite direction: smaller but more frequent updates. But again, that's a big 'if'.
------------------------------------------------------------
As for the update v0.44 itself, I'm pretty happy about how it was received by most of you. The feedback I get from all of y'all goes a long way in keeping me motivated and on track, so thank you for that, everyone. I appreciate all of you a lot.
------------------------------------------------------------
And that's pretty much it for this Dev Log again. Like I said, it's going to be a short one. My main goal was to let you all know about the update.
As usual, chuck your comments/feedback into the comment section below, or onto the
Next post I'll make on here will most likely be the release schedule. Or maybe another dev log early in the new year? We'll see!
Until then, and with my utmost appreciation for all your support, my beloved patron, I bid you farewell.
Cheers!
