I have to admit that there's not a chance we're releasing the game this year, there's simply too much left to do. CPE's been in development a lot longer than I would've liked, a large chunk of that being due to inexperience, and an even larger chunk reworking older content that was really low quality due to the aforementioned inexperience. Now that that's all done, and we're focusing almost exclusively on new content, the pace of development has increased DRAMATICALLY. It definitely does feel like the ending is in sight, but it's still a good ways off, and I'm certain 2020 is not possible at the quality level I want for the game
Absolutely no problem with that. Take your time, this is a game that's worth the attention and time taken.

I seem to have encountered a potentially game-ending bug. The red door opened for me, but I opted not to go through it to finish my exploraiton before proceeding. When I went back, the door was permanently closed. Is there any way to open it again?

I seem to have encountered a potentially game-ending bug. The red door opened for me, but I opted not to go through it to finish my exploraiton before proceeding. When I went back, the door was permanently closed. Is there any way to open it again?
I'm so sorry about that. I'm honestly shocked you're the first person to report this, I haven't heard of it until now but I assume it's been in the game for several updates now. As the person below you pointed out, there is luckily a bug in the game currently where if you stand right in front of the door, then open and close the pause menu, it'll glitch the door open, so you can use that to progress. I've added the bug to the top of my to-do list as well, so it'll be fixed in v0.38. Thank you very much for bringing it to my attention!


What do to when you find the summit?
You missed a platform on the far right of the Summit, you should be able to jump up in the right-most room over there

There's a platform you can drop down in the floor to get to a room below with a V shaped drop and a warped sentry at the bottom of it, from there keeping heading right to the end room where you'll find a button at the top of some maze like platforms to deactivate it.

Just wondering about underwater combat, will normal guns chips work or will there something like an Aqua Shot like how some games had specific underwater guns?

Normal bullet chips will work underwater, the only weapon that changes function underwater is the Flare Shot.. for obvious reasons :p In general I make a point of not requiring specific bullet chips for specific enemies or sections of the game, as I don't want the player to have to spend a lot of time in menus, swapping around their chips and whatnot. I basically want it to function as a system where you find your preferred chip types and then can comfortably keep using them as long as you like, while the subweapons are meant to fill more niche uses and can thus be easily swapped between on the fly.

Hey everyone, very small update this week; I spent most of it doing basic stuff like working on level design, fixing bugs, and stuff like that. In general, development of v0.38 is winding down, so there probably won't be much in the way of exciting stuff to show off between now and the release. At this point I'm mostly just waiting for CGs, H-scenes, and voice acting to be done so I can implement them all, and until that point I'm expanding level designs, tweaking balance, and updating various things around the game.



Up above you can listen to the underwater variant of the Deep Soil theme; like other areas in the game, this variant track will play instead of the normal theme in certain areas (specifically while you're underwater, who would've thought). I honestly can't remember if I've shared this track before, but if not, there you go - you'll be able to hear it ingame in v0.38, since underwater exploration will finally open up.

I'm also starting to mess around with a tileset for the 5th area, the one I shared a music preview of a while back; Puffernutter still hasn't had time to work on the tileset, and since my personal workload for v0.38 is getting pretty low, I decided to try it out myself. It's still lacking details and polish (and a proper background), but here's a small preview of what I've got for it so far.

I'm happy with the direction it's taking, so at the very least, I'm hoping I can get it to a good concept stage and have Puffernutter come in and add the finer details later.

Alright, that's it from me for this week. Sorry it's a smaller update, but there's just not much to share from my work, and I expect it to be similar in the following weeks until v0.38 comes out. I was curious about what the game looked like, since the two images barely actually show anything. Found a .35 video, and the very first thing posted is that you can't save unless you pay for it? Seems odd.
How long is the demo?

One of things I love most in this game is how consensual the sex is. Allied with the amazing gameplay, makes a really nice porn game, where sex is a reward. But, in this context, there is two situations where I think the sex isn't really consensual, at least not for the player.
I have playing the game on hard mode, since I'm replaying the game. I'm not shure if this issues happen on normal mode, but your game is a little easy, and I think that all replay value is on hard mode, so I will report based on hard mode.
I really liked the new debuff of breast expantion. It don't pause the gameplay anymore, and you can continue playing. Since the most of enemys is ranged, and they just fuck you if get in contact, you normally safe to keep going without been bound to fuck someone, but you can if you want. But, in hard mode, a single breast expantion is normally enough to fill up my libido bar to max, and put me to masturbate. This is quite annoying, principally in the Deep Soil, where it's a common mechanic. Sometimes I just want to get past to some area, and I recieve this debuff, and I'm obliged to watch Alicia masturbate or fuck someone, what stop the gameplay, takes time, and dont give me too much desire to explore this area. I understand that it's a debuff, and should have consequences, but I think this way is too much. The worst part is that, once I had recive the hit, there is nothing that I can do, just wait. It's too much punitive, and it's sex been used like a punishment. I think a possible solution is to get the libido bar a little lower when you kill a enemy, in a way that (in hard mode) when you kill two enemys your libido bar still raise, but not enough to make you masturbate. This way, if you're looking for some action or some exploration, you can (and should) continue to kill enemys, and or if you're scare to keep going, you can wait and deal with masturbation mechanic. I think that, this way, it's less punitive, more consensual, give a more fluid gameplay, but it's still a debuff, you still have to be careful to not touch anyone, have to kill enemys fast, but your gameplay just stay playing. Besides, two breast expantion in a row will still put you to masturbate, and you still will have to be careful after take the debuff.
Other issue I have it's the lose clothes mechanic. If you masturbate,even a little, maybe for accident for exemple, you will get naked until the next checkpoint. I think the clothes don't have any function except the estetic one, so you are bounded to just deal with the nudity until you came to next checkpoint or die for nothing. This isn't exatly annoying, but... can be better. I think that when you masturbate, you clothes should just drop on floor, and you could grab it back (with the up-button) or, if you want, you could walk naked. Maybe breast expantion still should bound you to be naked, like already are, but just to masturbate, where you have strip you clothes for your own will, you should be able to just put it back if you want. I think you just have to deal with nudity in a consensual game if you want to. Other game that deal with nudity very well, but in a different way that I have sayed, it's the Xenotake. There, clothes are itens that you find more frequently that checkpoints, and you can have some on stock. In this game, been naked makes you more fragile, so it's a more appropriated mechanic, but I think that in your game you could just drop it and take back if you want.
After these criticism, I should say that I really love this game. Your job it's just great, and it's one of the best porn games I ever played. I'm really anxious for the final version, to play and replay.

I don't know what on earth gave you the impression that you can't save unless you pay for it, but that is absolutely not true. The public demo (which is available here: ) has a save feature, just like any paid Patreon version of the game. The only thing you can't get without paying for it is the more recent Patreon demos, which are exclusive to the people financially supporting me, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, the demo is probably 1-2 hours long depending on the person playing and how much you explore. It contains everything up until you defeat the 2nd boss. The Patreon demos have roughly double the amount of content currently, and are expanding quickly with new content.



Sorry, but I don't plan on changing the BE mechanics any further, at least not for the moment. The most I can see doing is allowing the player to climax quickly while masturbating, like you were in a sex scene, to get things going quicker - but the entire point of the BE status is that it tips Alicia over the edge, and makes her unable to control herself. Giving the player options to control themselves despite that wouldn't fit within the game's universe, and I can't see any in-universe reason why beating an enemy would reduce Alicia's libido.

As far as the clothing goes, I'm not going to add the ability to pick your clothes back up, because eventually masturbating will not remove your clothes. The plan is to have clothed variations of every animation in the game, and masturbation will not remove your clothing, but rather take on whichever animation fits their current clothing state. Since the game is still in development, and our animation pipeline is extremely behind the rest of the game's developments, that won't happen for probably a long time - but adding the ability to pick up your clothes again would just waste development time, since it would become pointless later. It also wouldn't make much sense for copies of Alicia's clothing to just be lying around; despite my gameplay-first focus, I still make sure everything fits within the logic of the game's universe.

It wasn't 'an impression'. It was quite literally in the middle of the video I was looking at, lol.
It was a pop-up that said "Consider joining my Patreon to get game/save file/gallery scenes, & even more!" in bright orange letters.
I get that its a demo, so 'game' makes sense. But getting the save file sounded like you would be unable to save without paying, lol. And I saw several comments in these forums specifically that said there wasn't a gallery in the posted version.

I just found the video you're talking about - that is NOT ingame text, and has nothing at all to do with my work or my Patreon. That's something the video creator added, back when they were uploading my work without my permission to their own Patreon and then charging people for it, which I contacted them about and had shut down a while ago. I don't offer save files as a Patreon reward.

Oof. What a 'fun' start. Hope you don't walk TWO STEPS to the left when you begin. Otherwise you gget attacked by an enemy that's faster than you (by a lot) and kills you in two hits.
And it kills you faster than you can do anything with the incredibly slow attacking crowbar that you have to be standing completely still to use.

That's even worse than Super Metroid that throws you against Ridley 2 minutes in, lol.

Edit: Okay, I've played a bit and I'm quite impressed. I do wish the blaster wasn't so limited against slimes, or that the pellets just BARELY clear the tentacle things making is next to useless on those, too.
But after fighting the first boss its quite a bit better than expected.
I assume the empty elevator area is the future gallery?
Also, I got an error when using the portal right after finding the scientist:

Hello guys ~ can some one give some any kind of version of the game that have load/game saved kinda? i kinda dont like i allmost high way trou and started again right from the start ... please if one knows some Version tell me please

X23, Y22 has an exit leading downward, according to the map. But the entire floor seems solid. I've tried shooting it as well as using the charged shot.
Is that a later event or weapon passage? Or just a map error?

The game is still in development; the enemy at the beginning was an unfortunate oversight from development of that update, I often put WIP enemies in the starting room to make it easier to test them, and I just forgot to remove it before releasing the update. It was removed in a hotfix on Patreon, but the pirated download here is from a version before that hotfix. The warp crash has also been fixed, but there is no hotfix for it - it only happens the very first time you try to use the warp menu after starting a new game, so you won't run into it again unless you start over.

As far as the blaster being unable to easily hit the slimes and tentacles, that's what the Aim button is for. It allows you to aim diagonally easily, so you can either stand next to them and shoot, or jump and shoot. It's very much intentional that both of the earliest enemies cannot be hit by simple crouching shots, to help the player hopefully learn how to use the Aim function properly before more difficult enemies come into play.

And yes, the room you pointed out is indeed the gallery. You'll start unlocking enemies in it soon

There are a number of rooms you can't reach right now, just because I haven't developed those rooms - that's one of those situations, yeah. I recommend using the map notes to mark off spots like that, if you find an area that's clearly unfinished/not accessible
