Wow .. I was honesty kinda afraid to come back here. Felt like I let you all down. However .. and this is no promises, I'm taking another run up at this. I'm however abandoning rpgmaker. Making vn's in rpgm is .. well .. PAAAIIIN. And I just kept hitting burnout. Plus the initial VN remakes new story was well .. I wasn't happy with it. I ended up putting two months in looking at my work going .. this is just dogshit. And dropping it.

However .. Inspiration kinda flashed at me .. so .. here's something for you as a teaser. Right now it's a Title screen and a load/save system and nothing else .. but ..



I'm not starting up my patreon again unless I get some serious traction so seriously don't pledge unless you really do have money to burn. I ain't gonna say no to some cash but at this stage I promise nothing. Life is still very rough and I live in a certain country with very sharp views about online boobies. I promise ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Here's the premise it's a more lighthearted take playing of Isekai trops which I think fits better with the self insert power fantasies that are popular as well as the Anime aesthetic. The idea is this, A swap similar to the COD but this time caused by the fuck up of the angel Isekai'ing you into this world as a hero after Truck Kun has their way with you. You end up in the Demon King's body, The one who's been terorising and fucking his way through the centuries. With his powers and the heroes. And he ends up in a peasant body .. utterly powerless (He is now the comic relief.) But here's the catch this world, The whole premise is rigged. A mortal has done the unthinkable and absorbed the goddess' of light and darkness. And become unstoppable. Both the forces of heaven and hell serve them begrudgingly even as they struggle to limit the damage she does as she treats this world like her personal plaything. With the Demon King who's soul she had enslaved being the only possible threat to her. With every time he nearly breaks free resulting in a 'hero' being summoned and empowered to defeat him. But it's all theater.

Until you .. A perfect storm and an opportunity for rebellion. Make allies, Make friends, And definitely make lovers! marshal the forces of light and darkness. To rescue a world from the clutches of a maniac that treats it like a toy. And the unkowable abominations that dance to her tune.

There will still be FutaXMale in fact one of the first relationships will be that. Such content will however be signposted and optional.

There will still be sharing. No it isn't NTR to share the harem with the homies if you're all into it. No I don't care about your 'counterarguments' If you don't like it fuck off. I am 100% done with you. Netorare is being cucked and hating it, Netori is being cucked and loving it. Sharing is neither of those things. Deal with it.

For me, reading "isekai power fantasy" where I'm for the 8549853th time the super special snowflake that just happens to ... blablabla ... I'm already tired of the tropes before I've even finished thinking about it.

But I get it; it's popular, what can you do.

In the end the most important aspect is making the story you actually want to make, because otherwise it'll just not work out again once the going gets tougher (starting a project is always the easiest part ^^# ).

Well this is true it's a much more mainstream approach. Yeah I'm playing it safer this time. Also while you're probably aware of the tropes I intend to subvert a lot of them. I totally get the groan at the Isekai setting. But the fact is it's popular for a reason it's just that 95% of plots that use this turn out to be shit because they are low effort. I don't do low effort. I want to try and make an Isekai that actually taps the storytelling potential of the genre. Because I actually LIKE the premise myself. And I also feel that frustration. Of potential untapped due to laziness and the desire to cash out.

Also honestly i'm doing this because I want to at this point if I make some money great. But i'm not going to do this in the way most devs do. I'm not going to promise regular updates. I'm not going to promise anything. I work at my own pace and when I damn well please. And when I have time, I really don't care. I actually think trying to make a 'profitable' game ruined my first attempt at a VN. It just feels like a creativity ball and chain to me. Some people might thrive in that environment .. I don't.

So if I end up tapping a rather small niche with my game, I just .. honestly don't care. I'm not here to make money anymore. I got a job for that. I'm here to have fun and indulge my creative side. So while you migh be thinking *groan* Isekai. I'm acutally bubbling with ideas for the story/scenes and character developments.

I'll be honest I thought I was about done developing. But this idea popped in my head and I was like .. yes. That would be a lot of fun. True at it's core it will be a power fantasy. But in the end so was Currency of Damnation. You may not believe me but the truth is I'm NOT doing an Isekai because I wanna make a quick buck. I'm doing one becuase the genre is popular for a reason. And I've always felt it had untapped potential. Because I also was dismayed at the endless low effort another world stories. When it is actually SUCH a fertile storytelling ground. Whether I succeed or fail .. that's to be determined. But don't expect low effort. I pretty much thought I was done developing, Then I got this idea.

Fair enough. Can't deny that you've shown you can pull interesting things of before. And I do always say (except when I say other things) that ideas are nothing, and execution is 95% of the work.

"Hey I'm thinking about this fantasy story where this weird little dude with that other weird little dude and some kinda-comedic kinda-tragic backstory veeery weird dude gotta throw this ring in the volcano to save the world." "Meh, sounds boring." "Okay, maybe I'll throw in some gigantic battles? Just elsewhere, and it's only sorta semi-relevant because I really want to make it about throwing a ring into lava and that just literally solving everything; that's what I want to go for."

Point is, even stuff like LotR don't sound like much when you just do a quick pitch of them. So any generic idea can be fantastic, and any awesome idea can be wasted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But yeah. There's some ideas that are just sorta ... "hey I'm making a harem game where you return to your hometown after many years and you move in with your landlady and ..." I mean, it could be great. But if you ask me beforehand I'm not going to say I'll be looking forward to that specifically xD

I loved the first iteration of this; I think it's one of the best games that's on here, it was an actual game, to boot, with a genuinely interesting story.
It's a pity it died, but the horse has been beaten.
Through the lens of "can it measure up to what's been there before?", I don't think I can offer a fair assessment, but I do wish you all the luck and success you can garner, and I'd definitely look at it. It is always nice when someone has true passion for their work, and then especially sad when they inevitably burn out because you never start your passion project with expectation management and attainable milestones.

Hey folks. Sticking my head out of the woodowork here. I was actually planning to try in VN Maker but that turned out to be .. just .. the worst. Am now looking to start in renpy. And I honestly wish I'd taken that plunge years ago. I do get why people might be averse to an Isekai setting. It's been done to death. And I also think that going for a straight up power fantasy might not be what people who were originally into the game would want. I'm not really trying to grab money just get some sort of traction as a developer. I mean, Money might be nice but I'd have to make a hell of a lot to make up for all i've already invested. This has always been a passion project of mine.

I am taking a step back and re examining what I want to do. It's been a month or so since my loss. And I want to put myself back out there and get my life feeling normal again. And that means persuing my passions. My current thinking still involves an Isekai, Of a sort .. But with a twist. I don't want to spoil it but if you're exepcting the standard anime Isekai setting you will be very surprised. It's changed a lot in my head since I wrote those alst posts too .. It's a lot more dark and emotional. And I'm also taking the kid gloves off when it comes to the setting. MC will be a lot less .. careful. I've got a tendency to tiptoe around peoples sensibilities when it comes to erotica.

So I want to ask what do you feel about taking those gloves off completely. All scenes will be optional ofc. But It's a bit hard to, for example. Include hot villain sex without it being noncon. I'm not going to go full rance here. But the story and setting I am now envisioning occasionally dips into more extreme content. And honestly I'm about ready to just say fuck it. It does mean that the game probably won't be able to be Patreon but Subscribestar only and i'll be re launching my site there and focusing on that. I want to get peoples general feelings on certain fetishes based on how I am planning to implement them.

But grabbing let's say .. the villain who's been teasing him and having his way with her after she loses may well be on the card. He also may act aggressively with characters if he perceives or learns they are into that shit. But he's not going to go around raping total strangers and bellowing stupid lines about his 'magnum'.

2. Incest : I'm on the fence about this one. It's usually a very popular fetish and it's one I enjoy. But I know it's divisive. I personally want to include it. In this setting Raia would become the mother and Willow the little sister. But I can write them into the story another way.

3. Male characters : This is something I will only explore if the game is a success or I manage to get my financial situation more stable. As I'd have to commission new art for this. But how do you feel about including some genuine femboys into the mix? I'm bisexual myself but female presenting focused. Don't worry futa lovers that's still guaranteed. But I wouldn't mind including a couple of characters that got no pussy at all lol.

I like that idea very much. I hate when we are presented with a supposedly dark world with a bad ass MC who have no problem with things like violence and murder, but when it comes to sex he (or she) is a vanilla simp who will even simp to defeated enemy-LIs? If it is a male enemy, you can kill him in cold blood, but if it is a female enemy, then she has to be treated with kids gloves? Another pet peeve of mine is that every female is given some sort of sob-story background and especially for the enemy LIs who is then given a pass for their past transgressions. Why? Just let them be evil/enemies just like the men and treat them accordingly.

So yeah. I like this.

I like incest, at least when it is played as a taboo that requires seduction/corruption/coercion to reach fruition. If you are going for dark themes, it fits and you can also play it out to the max. Btw, the corruption doesn't have to (only) be of the LIs, it can also be of the MC, who can struggle with the morality of his (her) dark urges (and sometimes it can be a LI who is the driving force, though I think in most cases, it is better if it is the MC that is the instigator, because otherwise why even make a game out of it?).

3. Male characters : This is something I will only explore if the game is a success or I manage to get my financial situation more stable. As I'd have to commission new art for this. This doesn't do anything for me personally, since I am straight. If there is gay sex in a game, I will just skip it. It doesn't bother me that it is there though (unless it is like 70 percent gay and 30 percent straight, in which case I probably wouldn't play it).


But regardless of input from me or anyone here, I think you should do what you like to do and not worry to much about what people will think. While it is true that some kinks are more popular than others, there is always an audience out there and games made by Devs who dig their own story and the kinks and fetishes in it are more likely to be qualitative and actually being finished, than games made by Devs who do not care and are only working by the numbers. This is doubly true if this is something you really feel like doing. Then do it the way you want to do it! Screw what other people think!

Btw, don't know if you are the artist in your games or if you have some hired talent do it for you, but I really dig the style of the art!

I dig the idea of a more interesting character than "generic 'nice guy' MC" or "generic asshole MC", not something I see too often, since I feel most stories try go all in one way or the other (or worse, make a character who randomly flip between the two depending on whatever the current scene calls for).

Incest

I'm neutral on incest in general, though I'm not sure if it's a good idea to take characters that were originally not written/drawn to be related and add family relations afterwards, it can be a bit jarring to see characters who look completely different while being told they're related.

Male characters

No complaints from me, sounds like I have roughly the same tastes you described, though it's one of those controversial topics where even if you don't include them immediately you should decide early whether or not you plan to and put up a disclaimer.


(and yeah, I agree with above comment's "you should do what you want first" sentiment, though that should go without saying)

I have an artist that I know and have worked with for a long time. A few actually. I'd have to get back in contact with them but I don't forsee a problem if my financial situation stabilizes. They are always looking for work. And if you like hit me up with your deets in dm and I will pass them along. He can contact you if you want to commission stuff of your own I do some environmental stuff for the game. But I'm really no artist. I mostly focus on writing and mechanics. And I wasn't very good at mechanics XD VN's allow me to play to my strength which I believe is stortelling.

Luckily when my financial situation was better we worked on a great deal of backlog of art for the game. I am in possession of a lot of erotic art that you guys haven't even seen yet .. hell for CHARACTERS you guys haven't seen yet. I'd only really need to commission new art to add new characters or to add cute sfw scenes. I have plenty of art for a whole ass H-game by any measure. But no 100% male characters in that mix becuase it wasn't in the last game. I've also talked to him about it not being exactly the same game and he's cool with it. Long as he gets credit.

I think VN's will fit me better than rpg's tbh. It's too much work for 1 dude. You think you can keep it simple but there's always a lot going on under the hood and it can turn into spaghetti faster than you'd ever believe.

As for incest yeah I'm kinda backing off that one. A lot of people seem to be nuetral or ick to it these days. So there's no real point. And just as you said if there's little resemblance it can come accross as forced for the lewds. Besides there's nothing wrong with giving them a kink and making it some heavy roleplay. That's almost as hot and much more beleivable. I do get that it's a do what you want to do thing. But I don't want to hit a massive roadbump either. You would not BELEIVE the shit I got for the sharing content. Which was absolutely no fun to deal with in dm's on discord while i was grieving my dad and nursing my mom through her last days.

I kinda recognize that I was so afraid of offending people that I nuetered the eroticism in the game. Now .. think I'm just gonna do what's hot. And let people judge.

Okay so .. Might be weird to post this. But I want people to know I'm back in 'development mode.' This is the result of like 6-7 hours work and half of that was learning the syntax needed XD.

If you'd like to experience the tone. And see what kind of twist I'm putting on the workd 'Isekai.' And get a feel for the protagonist. I think you could do worse than to give it a quick read. Let me know what you think of the idea.

Oh-so-special guy (sure, literally everyone else on the planet didn't take some last stand, sure sure, very plausible) is "saved" by the Goddess by being reincarnated to a different world. Setup of 76.9% of isekai. And the ones that go the edgelord route love doing the "world is so unfair and we must be angry and get revenge against the world and that justifies the edgelordery" route which this strongly smells of (it's just a few lines so hardly conclusive naturally).

Anyway. I'm obviously no isekai fan* so probably not the best judge for this; I might be too dismissive of the finer nuances of the genre - but I'm just not seeing it. "Yepp, it's another isekai" is definitely my main reaction to it. And it does bother me when my perception is clearly not in line with what's it's expected to be, so I'd at least want to understand if possible ^^#

Well that isn't a good reaction lol .. But you're right in that I can't subvert the Isekai tropes too heavily and still expect to reel in people who like Isekai. I guess the twist in THAT intro and that intro alone is the fact that both the Goddess and the protag are aware of the tropes of an Isekai. And even the name Isekai. And unlike many other offerigns this isn't 'lazy writing'. It's intentional The Goddess even mentions Truck-Kun that is because the world we're talking about is obviously earth. But it also means that once he gets to his new life all bets are off. There's going to be no 'status screen.' And no op cheat. He's going to be a very competant warrior and strategist because of his previous life memories .. but that's it.

And I dunno I think it's quite plausable that given an unbeatable army of *redacted* That was just gonna walk all over them most people would see fighting as stupid. But yeah maybe I will tweak that part. But bear in mind this is the writing process. My previous work had a lot of rewrites and tweaks before I was happy with it. And you write some cringe shit in your prototypes. It's just how that works. And it's my first time writing an Isekai. And that is why I was a bit nervous about releasing something so obviously early. But I got valuable feedback.

I will also say that you're a bit off about the edgelord route but I can totally see why you'd pick that up from the limited intro. Sure the MC is angry with his previous world. But he's justifiably so. Won't get into that rn cos that's spoiler territory. He's not going to be stubbornly edgelord about everything that happens XD. And the game IS going to have lighthearted moments and a sense of humor. But i thought that the idea of a young man suddenly recovering memories and skills of being a badass with decades of combat experience was a cool way to set the protagonist apart in a way that Isekai requires without giving him op plznerf abilities. He'll be standing out using his tactical thinking and combat skills rather than some skill on his status screen that gives him an IWIN button.
