I'm also currently making a VN with a penectomy/castration theme using 3D animation. I've got some of my assets and animations for the first couple of scenes done, but there's just 1 thing I can't figure out the logistics of: the actual dick cutting.

Assuming the dick is part of the rigged mesh of the male character, how are you able to have it become a separate mesh that can then be manipulated (e.g. with soft body physics, etc.)?
Moreover, how did you make it so that the dick could still be animated while being cut off?

Please tell me your Krabby Patty secret formula. This is leaving me stumped (not down below though ).

For most of the scenes what I did was have 3 seperate models; the full body with attached genitals, the same body with missing genitals, and the severed genitals themselves. During the cutting scene I'd simply swap out the full body mesh for the two other meshes on the frame where the genitals fully detach. The body mesh with missing gentals uses the same rig as the full body, so I don't need to adjust it to be in the same place and I lined up the severed genitals as best I could so that the swap isn't too noticable.

For a couple of scenes, because folks wanted a slower severing. I had a forth mesh, a full body mesh that had a shape key (I'm assuming you're using blender?) that would open up a wound on the genitals to make it look like it was slowly being cut off.
