I remember reading something about that, about the complicated code. It may have even been comments by you . Like I said, I would have a lot of learning to do. But once I really sit down and get familiar with it all I have wondered if maybe it might be easier to just build something from scratch and just use the images from the original game. Especially since I'd be cutting out chunks of the story anyway.
One of main issues I've always had were his naming conventions... Ren'Py code isn't exactly rocket science... It's more about nondescriptive var names and how Matt handled ingame logic

I've done personal edits for about a dozen or so Ren'Py games so far. And I have noticed that some of them seemed to have a much more simplistic structure than others did. Looking forward to learning more when I get around to it. Irl obligations have to come first unfortunately

Shoot, this game was too good to be true. Had so much content to be abandoned. Dev should of had divided the content for release instead of waiting for this much for v0.2.

I still have hope from what I see on Patreon. Does anyone have any other info yet to contradict me?

Nope, he means literally. Was some bad stuff going around in his area about the time he disappeared, and he hasn't posted *anywhere* he did while working on the game. He also hasn't messaged anyone he was talking to for help with the game. We assume he got sick, had a hospital visit, and it didn't turn out well (i.e. curtains).

He's literally disappeared, which typically means checked out for good. Especially after this long.

I'm gonna hope and assume you don't mean literally o.o
Either way, shouldn't be tagged as furry.
There's one scene that has it, which is enough for a tag to count (as far as I know). I forget the dialogue options, but it's at the massage parlor place.

Idk, plenty of devs do this to avoid responsibility when they figure they don't feel like working on the game anymore but wanna keep the patrons hanging. They basically ghost everyone and anything to do with the game and create new profiles. So many devs "disapeared" exactly like this guy and I doubt they're dead.

I understand your point of view, but does it really matter?
  • If the author is really dead, then obviously he will not update his code anymore. If we ever get a definitive proof that he passed away, then those who badmouthed him or suspected him of faking his death will probably feel really bad.
  • If the author is still alive but cannot work on the game anymore for various reasons (burnout, or he found a new job, or he was caught by his employer or his family, or his house burned down and he lost everything, or ... whatever) then the result for us is the same: the game is abandoned.
It does not help much to speculate about whether the author is really dead or not. In the end, we have to accept that this game will not be updated anymore.

Acting like you inherently have superior insight and know better than the people who actually knew him well, and dismissing them with such certainty and condescension, because your own opinion of yourself is just that high? I really don't think they'd feel bad at all. People who display narcissistic characteristics like that don't seem to look at things that way.

Thankfully there's an Ignore button though.
