I’ve tried to be as transparent as possible about my situation, and I've mentioned in every dev diary I've written as well just in case you want to read. Overall, this year hasn’t been the best for me. Despite my efforts to tackle each issue, new challenges keep arising. For example (and this is something I will write in my next dev diary), just two days ago, I woke up with severe pain in my lower left back for no apparent reason. It’s so intense that I can’t stand up straight or walk properly, making it difficult to find a comfortable position to sit and work. Is it just spasm? Is just dislocated disk? Herniated disk? I have no clue. When it rains, it pours, and I worry it sounds like I’m making every excuses under the sun for not working on the game.
With my main job in a graduate program, my commitment to making every render and animation the best it can be, and how this year throws me every issues known to mankind, progress has been... slower than I’d like. The good news, though, is that even if it’s slow, it’s still moving forward.

Doubt it. It came recently and unexpectedly. I don't think that it's problems related to bones, because I feel really tight in that area so maybe...muscle stuff? I most likely twisted something, but honestly, how - that's the question that I do not have answers to. Normally, I'm pretty active, like I would spend at least 2 hours exercising - so besides the pain itself, not being able to exercise or move really sucks.
Every time I've ever had one, it was abrupt and rapid onset pain, and then lasted until it passed. Always feels like lower back pain for me. But either way hopefully whatever it is moves on down the road quickly.

Perhaps it is just the light and shadows - these pictures came straight out of the character maker in HS2, so I didn't really have any polish for them.
