Good for you! I'm not even being sarcastic, I mean that genuinely. My objective with the analysis was never to convince people who like Daily Lives not to like it, nor even to convince anyone to not like Callum... at least not in the context of the game and story. If seeing Callum the way I described him in the analysis makes the story even better for you, that's great; that means I actually managed to provide enjoyment, which is always a good thing.Honest, i read through all that trip of words you put in there and this was like a roalcoaster, but at the end of the day, even if you're right, i don't even mind if Callum is like that.
In fact! It makes the story more interesting, like Callum acting out, to gain what he wants, and demonstrating this behaviour only when it is already too late for the person to notice.
Also having Callum forgetting about stuff, like a dormant beast waiting to wake up, it could be an interesting concept, even for the player to not even notice what is he doing or what is going on in reality, him being a walking menace, trying to manipulate everyone.
It kinda fits more with him, not like some "Sigma behaviour", but you know what i mean, or it could be like Callum is not human, possesing the form of a person, trying to act like human and manipulating every woman he encounter to make his offspring... To start the invasion! And the main hero in reality will be Theo with a crucifix trying to exorcise Callum
Okay, maybe a little too far on that, the theory that i did on the "Magic Circle" was just that, a theory, i just get that the magic circle had some kind of aphrodiciatic properties since Callum remarks that having sex or just being with Pixie is like an aphrodiasic or more like a drug effect? I don't remember correctly, but since the fairies created that "magic dome", i thought it will be the same case having the same effect on everyone.
Either way, you did an entire summary on that, and i respect that! Dunno if you're gonna like the game afterwards since the scenes are not of you're taste, and the next ones are gonna be more weird, but it will be good to have you around
All I wanted to do was to discover once and for all if my instinctual wariness of Callum was justified or not, and organize the information to support that discovery as much as possible. I think I did that, so I feel somewhat vindicated, at least.
I'm also somewhat uncertain as to what I will do with this game moving forward. I still enjoy the art-style and I like the girls, though that is almost a problem at this point... because I don't trust Callum to not hurt the girls that I have come to like. Had this been another kind of story I wholeheartedly agree that following a character like Callum would have been very interesting in a morbid kind of way, but in a porn game?
Obviously there is no judgment on anyone else for whatever their tastes might be, but I personally cannot get aroused by displays of sadism, domination and other cruelty. I think I'll continue to keep an eye on things from the outside and see how it develops, but I have my doubts that I will ever actually want to play the remainder of the story. Not unless something drastic and unexpected happens story- and character-wise, at least.
