We have been told that the current chapter (i.e., the third) will be the last of for this particular game.

For awhile earlier this year, we thought there might be only two chapters - then they revealed this happy surprise to their fans (and there was much rejoicing).

Oh, it's a great game and will take awhile to play as it stands now - I do recommend going through sooner and/or supporting the Dev if you have the opportunity(ies).

But due to some things like the game Melody is coming to an end, that lots of routes in DMD like Jennifer were almost not implemented (i mean there is almost no content in lots of hours in game and the relationship with some character are not even began).
I think its because now they have to make a game in substitution of Melody and if they finish DMD too they will have to make another game too.
In addition as i said earlier DMD has lots of things to do unless this was not planned at this point so they decided to make a new chapter so you can download it without memory problems and add some things to bring more surprises to the game like D fooling around, what seems to bring back the corruption tag they removed time ago.

All they need to know is that these compressed versions are just temporary. Once we finish the game, I'll upload the uncompressed version, which right now is about 5gb!

if you compare the side characters in Melody with DMD it seems they are better rendered, for instance Elena and Jennifer vs. Sophie.
I would like to see those characters given a digital make over more than any resolution shift.

That could be a . . . huge effort.

I like DMD the way I like modern comic books vs. their original or earlier series:
{story, characters, action, etc.} vs. {all the above + sentimental attachment}

I want to see that too, only expect li i said when they announced it that this new direction taken is well implemented not like most of games where this paths are only unconnected scenes that destroys the plot... But HEY! It´s Mr dots if anyone can do that is him, so i have faith.

But would it be 5gb per chapter or or whole game? Since chapter 1 and 2 already have more than 3gb each.
But it gives nothing, if this game is over 100gb I would download for sure.

Nobody in MrDots team stated it was going to be 4K, though. Just their higher quality renders - i.e., no lossy compression.

The advantage for any display - at the very least - will be that lossy artifacts will be gone. Plus, scaling should be very good as well.
